Traditional healer and reality TV star Gogo Maweni, whose real name is Makgotso Makopo, reveals the amount of money she had in her bank account before buying and building properties.
GOGO MAWENI PLAYS HARD AND WORKS HARD
Maweni has solidified herself as one of the country’s well-known traditional healers. The reality TV star has earned her fortune through healing practices, various business ventures, and TV gigs.
Lately, she has been flaunting her wealth on social media by purchasing properties, luxury cars, and treating herself and her husband, Sabelo Mgube, to lavish vacations and gifts.
MAWENI: ‘AT SOME POINT I HAD R10 MILLION IN MY ACCOUNT’
The mother of two recently hosted a live session on Instagram, where she disclosed an astonishing amount that she once had in her bank account before investing in properties, surprising her fans.
In a video shared by TikTok user @charmaine_mas, Maweni shared also financial advice with her followers while boasting about her millionaire status.
“There is one thing that I have noticed. Sometimes you go through life without having R50,000 in your account, and that’s just part of living“
“At one point, I had R10 million when I started building and buying properties. I got upset because I didn’t see that money in my account anymore. My father said I was frustrated because I could no longer see the money, and he was right. I’m not any different from anyone who wants to see the money they’ve worked for,” she said.
She went on to encourage her followers to never let anyone make them feel less valuable.
MAWENI ON DEALING WITH PEOPLE WHO DON’T BRING BACK HER MONEY
The controversial celebrity sangoma is no stranger to making headlines and has become one of the country’s most talked about traditional healers.
In December 2022, Maweni expressed her frustration about lending money to others who never repay it. She shared measures she took to ensure that they returned it.
“You have the nerve. We work the whole year, then December comes and you come to borrow money.”
“A person who comes to borrow money must first give me their hair, their pubic hair, the dirt of their tongue, and a few drops of blood. I’m getting tired of people not returning the money. You borrow money and don’t return it,” she said.
