What Nabi has changed at Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have looked really impressive in the club’s two wins and a defeat under coach Nasreddine Nabi.

Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has explained what the new technical team has changed.

NEW ENERGY IN THE KAIZER CHIEFS TEAM

“I think there’s a difference, it’s just that energy, that belief you know, it’s always been there but I think that light was dimmed a bit because of the past seasons,” Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen said via iDiski Times.

“But with the new technical team coming in, it’s just taking that thing off the light and making it shine again, if you look at the bulk of the players we have, it’s players we’ve had there for a while.

“So it’s just that belief and energy that they’ve brought to the team, making players hungry for the game again, wanting to achieve, wanting to be better, wanting to be the best.

“Playing for a team like Kaizer Chiefs calibre, you want to be the best. Whether it’s in your position or as a team, so I think it’s that mindset of belief and that energy they brought to the team, for me it’s one of the big differences,” Petersen concluded.

GASTON SIRINO AND CO. INJURY UPDATES

Kaizer Chiefs made the exciting signing of Gaston Sirino in pre-season but the latest news are not so great.

According to the club’s medical team, the Amakhosi attacker suffered a minor injury in the last match against Mamelodi Sundowns last month.

“Gaston Sirino sustained an abductor muscle injury in the last match, and he is improving nicely, and we expect him to be back in full training within two weeks,” Kaizer Chiefs physiotherapist David Miller said.

Additionally, Brandon Petersen has recovered from his finger injury, while George Matlou, Tebogo Potsane and Edmilson Dove will start full training soon.

“Another player progressing well is George Matlou. He has started running and doing some ball work and we are looking at a November return for him, “ the Kaizer Chiefs physio added.

“He[Potsane] went for a scan which showed some ligament damage, so we expect him to be out for around three weeks.

“Edmilson Dove is out of the protective boot and is doing some preliminary walking. We are confident he will be able to start running in November. Brandon had the pins removed from his finger and can start full training immediately,” Miller concluded.
