Kaizer Chiefs continue to revamp their technical team.
Following the appointment of Nasreddine Nabi, even more changes have taken place amongst Amakhosi’s coaching staff.
A few weeks ago, Fernando Da Cruz left Chiefs. Meanwhile, moments ago it was confirmed that Arthur Zwane has left to join PSL rivals, AmaZulu. Another appointment has recently gone under the radar, one worth noting.
EX SUNDOWNS PLAYER APPOINTED AS CHIEFS DDC CO-COACH
Dillon Sheppards has remained at Naturena. Albeit, in a different role.
Moreover, the ex-Sundowns player has been appointed as the new co-coach alongside Vela Khumalo.
“Kaizer Chiefs have reinforced their reserve side’s technical team by adding Dillion Sheppard,”
“Sheppard was demoted from being an assistant coach in the club’s senior side and redeployed to the academy following the arrival of Nasreddine Nabi at the start of this season,”
“The 45-year-old tactician has now been appointed as the reserve team co-head coach along with Vela Khumalo,” the statement read on Goal.
Therefore, he is the only survivor of Chiefs 2022/23 coaching staff following the departures of Cavin Johnson and Zwane.
SUNDOWNS FLAVOUR AT AMAKHOSI
Chiefs now have two former Sundowns players at the club.
Sheppards has been appointed DDC co-coach. Meanwhile, former Sundowns player Gaston Sirino was signed in the recent transfer window.
However, Sheppards has been a part of the Chiefs coaching ranks for many years now. In fact, he helped inspire Amakhosi to the CAF Champions League final alongside Zwane when they lost to Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly back in 2021.
DO YOU THINK SHEPPARD CAN HELP INSPIRE AMAKHOSI’S DDC SIDE TO GLORY?
