Arthur Zwane thanks Kaizer Chiefs as he joins AmaZulu

Newly-appointed AmaZulu co-coach Arthur Zwane has thanked Kaizer Chiefs and its chairman as he joins Usuthu.

Zwane was on Tuesday announced as the new AmaZulu co-coach alongside Vusumuzi Vilakazi.

He left Kaizer Chiefs after 24 years of service – both as a player and a coach.

Zwane spent 12 years as a player between 2000 and 2012 where he transitioned to coaching, thank to Vladimir Vermezovic.

After spending a few years with the senior team under the guidance of Vermezovic, Zwane was then made a youth coach.

He helped nurture a number of Kaizer Chiefs players who are now part of the first team, including Bruce Bvuma among others.

The Soweto-born mentor returned to the first team in 2020, and he was made the Kaizer Chiefs head coach in 2022.

However, Zwane only lasted for a season as Amakhosi coach before being demoted back to the position of assistant coach.

Zwane would later be moved back to the youth setup where Kaizer Chiefs handed him the position of senior youth coach.

Now, speaking to the Kaizer Chiefs website, Zwane thanked the club and Dr Kaizer Motaung Snr for their support during his 24-year stay.

He said being at Kaizer Chiefs didn’t only shape his football career but his life in general.

ARTHUR ZWANE TO KAIZER CHIEFS: ‘THANK YOU’

“I would definitely like to extend my deepest gratitude to Dr. Motaung for the unwavering support, guidance and love throughout my Chiefs career as a player and a coach,” said Zwane.

“His belief in me has allowed me to grow from a player to a development coach and ultimately to the head coach.

“I am truly thankful for the opportunities the Club has provided which have shaped not just my career but my life. So, thank you to Kaizer Chiefs and thank you to the Chairman,” concluded Zwane.
