ROCKING THE DAISIES 2024: A WEEKEND OF UNFORGETTABLE MUSIC AND FUN
With the theme ‘In the Stars,’ the festival lived up to its reputation. It blended scorching summer vibes with celestial performances, according to Glamour.
It was a weekend of non-stop entertainment and excitement, leaving attendees buzzing with joy.
Headlining the festival was the talented Snoh Aalegra. She’s a Roc Nation artist whose soulful set had fans swaying to every beat.
Her performance was nothing short of mesmerising.

The crowd couldn’t get enough, with one festival-goer raving, “Snoh Aalegra was out of this world! Her voice just hits differently in person.”
International acts brought even more magic to the weekend. Chicago’s Mick Jenkins wowed the audience with his thought-provoking lyrics over smooth jazz beats.
Nigerian Afropop sensation Ayra Starr got the crowd dancing with her infectious energy, according to Cape Town ETC.
BLK Odyssy’s unique fusion of funk, soul, and rock left festival-goers in awe, while American R&B star 6lack had everyone singing along to his hit, “Prblms.”
Each act brought something different to the stage, creating a global music experience.
SOUTH AFRICAN TALENT SHINES AT ROCKING THE DAISIES
But it wasn’t just international stars who shone. South African artists stole the show with breathtaking performances across a range of genres.
Nasty C’s fiery rap set, Sjava’s soulful melodies, and Sun El Musician’s electronic beats kept the crowd dancing long into the night.
Shekhinah’s smooth vocals and DJ Kent’s epic festival-closing set at the Beach Club rounded off a weekend of unforgettable music, according to Foot Notes.
Local favourites Mi Casa, Prince Kaybee, Matthew Mole, Omagoqa, and DJ Lag also kept the energy high throughout the weekend.
FASHION TAKES CENTRE STAGE AT ROCKING THE DAISIES 2024
Beyond the music, Rocking The Daisies offered a packed schedule of other activities and experiences.
One of the highlights was the GalXBoy x Rocking The Daisies Fashion Show.
Tadiwanshe Karen Kaparipari stole the show, winning an internship with the iconic South African clothing brand, GalXBoy.
The festival’s exclusive merch was also a huge hit, with attendees scrambling to get their hands on the limited-edition items.
For those who missed out, the good news is that the collection will be available online soon.
ACTIVITIES THAT MADE THE FESTIVAL EVEN MORE FUN
Sports enthusiasts were not left out. The SuperSportBet Sports Centre’s Three-a-Side Soccer Tournament added an element of fun competition to the weekend.
Meanwhile, the serene Secret Sunrise yoga session gave festival-goers a chance to recharge on Saturday morning.
ALIVE WITH MUSIC
As one participant said, “It was the perfect way to start the day. Peaceful, uplifting, and surrounded by nature.”
Another standout was the new Coke Studio Deck, which had a nightclub atmosphere, pumping out high-energy beats.
Daisy Town was alive with music, dancing, and good vibes all weekend long. There was even free coffee on Saturday morning, giving everyone a much-needed energy boost to kick off the day.
