Kaizer Chiefs starlet Wandile Duba has given his honest assessment of Relebohile Mofokeng‘s rise at Orlando Pirates.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Duba said the difference between him and Mofokeng is stability.
The two teenage sensations played against each other in the Diski Challenge before being promoted.
According to Duba, Kaizer Chiefs players, including him, have had to deal with so many coaching changes since his promotion to the first team.
Duba was handed his first professional contract in January 2023, and has worked with three different coaches.
And they are Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson, but he appears to have gained confidence under Nasreddine Nabi.
Nonetheless, Duba said Mofokeng’s rise has everything to do with the solid structure he found in the Pirates first team.
Furthermore, the Amakhosi starlet believes Mofokeng has had to play with no pressure on him simply because Pirates are doing well.
CHIEFS’ DUBA ON DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIM AND MOFOKENG
“The difference between us is that I was playing in a struggling team while he was at a well-structured club with less pressure,” said Duba as per FARPost.
“Pirates are doing well, so everything he does looks good. I’ve also had to deal with many coaching changes, whereas he’s had stability with one coach.”
“Coach Nabi has really changed my mentality and is helping me grow as a player,” Duba continued.
“I never thought I could play on the wing, but he saw my speed and intelligence and believed I could do it. I’m happy to play wherever the coach needs me.”
WILL DUBA GET TO THE LEVEL OF MOFOKENG ANY TIME SOON?
