An AKA impersonator, whose identity remains undisclosed recently trended on social media when he performed his hit song in a club.
AKA: LOOKALIKE
AKA’s lookalike went viral on social media after @MDNNewss shared a video of him performing the late rapper’s song, All Eyes on Me.
The trending video garnered negative comments from fans of the rapper, who feel that the impersonator is showing no respect towards Supermega’s legacy.
The viral video also sparked a conversation regarding the appropriateness of impersonating a deceased artist.
@SiyabongaMdlu15: “People have been doing this for ages with different late musicians, mostly Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston in that light I see no problem.”
@khayey_saint, who is friends with the impersonator wrote: “Lol no man. That’s Dom, he’s just a club promotor in Rosebank just that he looks like Kiernan.”
While @MihlayonkeT says: “I totally agree, this is creepy and disrespectful.”
The late rapper, real name Kiernan Forbes was tragically murdered in February 2023 in Durban.
SOUTH AFRICANS REACT TO RAPPER’S LOOKALIKE VIDEO
@Dr_Shiyaklenga: “I just hope this is the last time we see this disrespect to Supermega’s legacy. This guy must start his own career and not hijack AKA’s career.”
@drtn83: “He looks more like Pres Zuma this one.”
@AustineM_: “Risky business this. Maybe skits on a TikTok yeah. But trying to duplicate him to the extent of performing live? He won’t like the pending feedback.”
@negative_warona: “The family must sue him.”
@KaroroMitchelle: “Oksalayo he will never be wise or smart like AKA I don’t think even his voice matches…. This is absolutely nonsense and very disrespectful,”
