Clifton, Camps Bay beach parties irk locals: ‘Turning into Durban’

Scenes from recent loud parties and jovial crowds on Clifton and Camps Bay Beaches have irked local Cape Town residents. Some are even calling the affluent area the “new Durban.”

CLIFTON, CAMPS BAY PARTIES UPSET LOCALS

In videos posted on social media, rowdy crowds are seen partying on Cape Town’s famous beaches, including Camps Bay and Clifton’s 4th Beach.

In the clips, scores of young people are seen singing and dancing to loud music in the sand, on rocks, and even on top of taxis. The partying goes on well into the night.

According to social media users, the visitors appear to be students who are partying hard ahead of their final exams.
