McCauley, 75, passed away on Tuesday, 8 October, in his Johannesburg home surrounded by his loved ones.

He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 19 October.

Speaking outside McCauley’s home, Malema described the famous pastor as a man of God and peace.

“He was a man of God and a man of peace. When we arrived in Parliament in 2014, there were serious commotions, tensions, and fights. He flew to Cape Town with his money to find common ground amongst all political parties.

“When the ANC youth league expelled us, he came to try and maintain peace between us and former president Jacob Zuma,” he said as he reflected on McCauley’s role in his life.

Likewise, Malema said McCauley also prayed for them when they formed the EFF and always spoke life to them.

“He said to use we must try and resolve whatever issues in a peaceful manner that will not plague our country into divisions,” he added.
