FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Tuesday Evening,
It has been a very chilly day with temps running 14-16 degrees below normal for this time of the year, with highs barely touching 50. We have had the wettest day of the month of October so far with just a little more than a tenth of an inch of rainfall today. In addition, we have had multiple reports of small hail, and graupel through the day today with some of these showers, and the isolated thundershower.
Overnight, we will have rain showers ending early, with clearing skies expected. We do have pretty much an areawide freeze warning, with a few frost advisories out east. On thing that will likely work in many of our favor overnight, is the fact that skies will take a while to clear, dewpoints are still well above 32°, and we will keep a bit of a breeze overnight tonight.
Temps inside of the outerbelt will likely stay above freezing by a few degrees tonight, with a few cool spots dropping closer to freezing. Outside of the outerbelt, the coolest temps will be in the north. Wednesday will see clearing skies, with clouds lingering, and a few showers further east, closer to I-77. Temps will struggle to the middle 50s during the afternoon.
Thursday morning will be the coldest morning of the season, with a much better chance of a freeze with temps falling to the low to mid 30s, with some isolated upper 20s possible north and east of town. Thursday will see a beautiful day with sunshine and highs back into the lower 60s. We will have another cool start on Friday, but a great afternoon with highs in the upper 60s. Also, should have awesome weather for FFN too Friday evening.
The weekend will feature moderating temps in the morning in the low to mid 40s, great afternoons with sunshine and highs in the lower 70s. Next Monday and Tuesday will be even warmer with highs back in the middle 70s.
