There’s much speculation surrounding several PSL stars as clubs ramp up their search to ameliorate their side.
Transfer gossip
- Golden Boot winner Tshegofatso Mabasa could be on the way out, as Orlando Pirates aren’t opposed to maximizing the 28-year-old’s value before it declines. According to transfermarkt, Mabasa has a market valuation of R24.9 million.
- Relebohile Mofokeng has been attracting international attention since his 2023/24 breakout season, with Glasgow Rangers and RB Salzburg interested in the 19-year-old wonderkid.
- Monnapule Saleng is another Orlando Pirates star being monitored abroad. Belgium Pro League’s Standard de Liège is reportedly interested in the attacking midfielder.
- Narseddine Nabi’s top target seems to be Kenyan striker Michael Olunga, who is valued at around R180 million.
More on the Olunga situation
With only one out-and-out attacker – Ranga Chivaviro – Nabi is desperate to add more strikers to his roster.
“Chiefs are now looking at Michael for January as they feel it will be much easier getting Michael at this point than to stay on the Mayele chase”, said an anonymous Soccer Laduma source.
Mabasa wants a PSL trophy
The reigning PSL top goal scorer seems set with Orlando Pirates, telling Independent Media, “The biggest things for us are to be consistent and get the results regardless of the performance that we may put out there,” he said.
“The most important thing in the league is results. And that’s what we are aiming to do together as a group. Those are the things we’ve got to do for ourselves.”
He added, “We’ll continue to work hard towards doing that. The unity between ourselves, and the belief we have in one another, hopefully, will help us to pull through … so that we go all the way.”
“It will happen. If God wants it to happen, it will happen. I just need to continue putting the ball in the back of the net,” Mabasa continued.
“I will continue to thrive and work hard in training as well. I know that I have the support of my teammates – everyone keeps telling me to lift my head and continue to work hard.”
