A BODY has been found in the River Thames days after a man went missing after a rowing boat capsized.
The man, in his 60s, is a Weybridge Rowing Club member and fell into the water near Sunbury Lock in Surrey on October 11.
The other five adults on board were rescued, except for one man.
Surrey Police confirmed a body had been recovered from the waterway near Sunbury Weir and a formal identification will take place.
An investigation has been launched but the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Chief Inspector Andy Jenkins said “Throughout this tragic incident we have been in close contact with the man’s family to offer them support and information during this incredibly difficult time.
“Our thoughts remain with them, and we ask that their privacy is respected while they come to terms with their loss.”
