Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has won the heart of former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye.
Following Sundowns’ 5-0 win over Golden Arrows in the Carling Knockout Cup, Khanye admitted that he used to be critical of Mngqithi.
In September, Khanye blamed Mngqithi’s tactics for Sundowns’ loss in the MTN8, and even went further to say he won’t finish the season.
However, the former Amakhosi winger has now swallowed those words, now claiming to have seen a different Sundowns team under Mngqithi.
Khanye said he likes how Sundowns is attacking with speed this season, adding that he has dealt with the players’ mindset.
Furthermore, Khanye believes how the Brazilians are playing is also determined by the players they have signed for Mngqithi.
SUNDOWNS’ MNGQITHI WINS KHANYE’S HEART
“I have to complement Manqoba Mngqithi. I’ve criticised him before. I was critical of Manqoba, but I think he has dealt with the players’ mindset. said Khanye on iDiski TV.
“There is speed upfront at Sundowns now. Once Sundowns gets in your half there is quick movement, and they will finish you.
“You hardly see these guys balloon the ball because they are clinical with passes and movement on the ball.”
“Truly speaking, I’m very pleased with how Sundowns is playing, they are playing with identity.
“If you check the goals, they have scored maybe in the last 10 matches they scored the same way and the way they play I think it’s also determined by the players they have signed.”
IS THIS TEAM DIFFERENT TO THAT OF RULANI?
