Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United will face each other for the second time in just seven days this weekend.
The two teams will play each other on Saturday at the iconic New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. The match will kick off at 17:30.This highly anticipated rematch follows last Saturday’s thrilling Carling Knockout first-round encounter, where visitors Kaizer Chiefs emerged victorious by beating United 4-0.
Matsatsantsa comes into the match following their 2-0 defeat against Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night. Gavin Hunt’s side is currently sitting 13th in the league with just four points from five games.
Kaizer Chiefs looking to add more misery to Hunt
“Players are giving their all, but obviously, we’re fielding 18-year-olds and 19-year-olds. That’s what we have, so when we lose one or two, we’re going to struggle.
“We have had no right sided players since the start of the season. So that’s a problem. Obviously strikers struggling up front,” Hunt said.
Kaizer Chiefs aim to build on their recent form and continue their momentum under Coach Nasreddine Nabi. The Glamour Boys have won three of their first four games this season and are looking to keep up with Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates at the top.
SuperSport United have not started the season well and given the fact that they had to travel to Orlando on Tuesday, they might struggle against Amakhosi once again. Nabi’s men are not in action midweek which will allow them time to rest and prepare for Saturday’s clash.
