SuperSport United have officially announced the acquisition of Ethiopia international and attacker Abubeker Nasir.
In a statement released on Thursday, Matsatsantsa confirmed that Nadir has signed a one-year deal deal with them.
Nasir was last season on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns but his whereabouts this term was confirmed by Manqoba Mngqithi.
Now, what’s not clear is whether or not Nasir joined SuperSport United on loan for the rest of the season.
Nasir wasn’t registered by Sundowns for the current campaign due to the club exhausting their foreign quota.
His arrival is expected to ease pressure on Gavin Hunt after it became clear that his SuperSport United attack is blunt.
After failed attempts to get Samir Nurkovic on board, the Tshwane outfit opted for Tashreeq Morris who made his debut last week.
But Hunt wasn’t entirely satisfied with his attack hence the decision to sign the Ethiopia international.
Matsatsantsa’s attacking problems were exposed by a long-term injury to trusted striker Bradley Grobler.
