The South African Weather Service has predicted rain in parts of Gauteng this weekend.
The province is expected to experience rainfall this weekend, which will provide much-needed moisture to the region. After Monday’s thunderstorms, temperatures peaked again, reaching highs of 30°C in some areas, particularly on Thursday and Friday.
Rain expected on Sunday in Gauteng
Residents can anticipate scattered showers that may vary in intensity throughout the weekend. On Friday, Pretoria is expected to reach a high of 30°C with clear skies. On Saturday, there’s a slight chance of rain, with temperatures peaking at 31°C, after a minimum of 17°C.
Sunday will likely bring showers and thundershowers for most of the day, with a maximum temperature of 27°C.
In Johannesburg, highs of 29°C are expected for both Friday and Saturday. However, a 60% chance of rain is predicted for Sunday, as temperatures drop to the mid-20s.
On Wednesday, the SA weather service said no severe weather conditions were expected in the coming days. Gauteng and other provinces will experience rain and showers but nothing extreme.
“The system which was responsible for the rainfall in the previous days is exiting the country but rainfall is expected to remain in E parts. However, tomorrow only rain and showers are expected in the extreme NE parts of RSA. No severe weather expected across RSA,” said SAWS.
Temperatures are expected to plummet in Gauteng this coming week but chances of rain are slim on Monday and Tuesday.
