During MAFS UK 2024, there have been a number of huge editing errors that have thrown some of the biggest moments and shocks into question. Is anything actually real anymore?
From people appearing in two places at once to food being able to magically appear and disappear, either this year’s cast has secret powers, or the continuity in the episodes has been a little dodgy.
Here’s a rundown of the biggest editing errors there have been during MAFS UK 2024 so far.
Orson was seen at the first dinner party, and then entered the room again
The first of many editing errors during MAFS UK 2024 came during the first dinner party, when Orson was seen chatting in the main room, before he’d even made his entrance.
At the start of the evening, as the brides and grooms arrived, a small group gathered, and people went off into two groups to chat amongst themselves. Orson was seen in a chat with some of the other grooms.
But then, things got a bit dodgy in the editing department. Suddenly, the show cut for an ad break, and then the first scene back was Orson apparently dramatically arriving to the dinner party alone. He made a big deal of his walk in, without wife Richelle, and the camera showed everyone pleased to see him, if a bit shocked to see him alone.
Food in front of Kieran and Kristina was disappearing and reappearing
I honestly don’t even know why MAFS does scenes involving food, because it always shows just how edited the scenes really are. During this episode, Kieran and Kristina welcomed his mum and her sister into their flat and made them a meal.
When the group first sat down and started eating, their bowls and a plate of garlic bread were obviously very full, but then just seconds later everything was suddenly clean and empty. The camera cut again and the garlic bread had magically reappeared and the bowls were full again.
This happened a couple of times, proving huge parts of the conversation were cut up and moved around, compared to how it really happened.
Amy’s hair changed in the blink of an eye
As things got heated and the intruder brides and grooms had their weddings, another error was spotted. In her confessional interview to camera on her big day, Amy’s hair changed in the blink of an eye.
Despite it being shown to us at home that two snippets of her interview were said in the same take, they clearly weren’t, as her curls had dropped, and then instantly became perfect again.
There was also an editing error with food in front of Luke
The food is back at it again! More food was appearing and disappearing when the cast went to the retreat. During their time away, the boys sat out in a field and answered awkward questions such as which bride they thought was sexiest.
Luke being an unproblematic king, sat in the corner and ate cheese and biscuits, but this ended up as being proof the conversation was chopped up and edited heavily, to change how we saw what was going on as viewers. Constantly, Luke went from having a plate of food, to not, to having one again, to not and so on. These changes were happening simultaneously, less than seconds apart each time.
Orson and Richelle appeared twice in a clip from a commitment ceremony
Possibly the biggest of all the editing errors in MAFS UK 2024 so far came when Orson and Richelle were at a commitment ceremony twice! During the episode, the couple were hashing it out on the sofa in front of the experts, but then the camera panned to the rest of the cast to get their shocked reactions, and Orson and Richelle were there too!
Clearly these reactions were not at all to what Orson and Richelle had said, and were taken from a completely different point in the ceremony.
