Orlando Pirates are flying high right now after a wonderful start: five victories out of five matches so far this season. Up next for the Buccaneers is TS Galaxy in Mpumalanga, but without Deano Van Rooyen at the back.
ORLANDO PIRATES STAR DEANO VAN ROOYEN INJURED
During last Friday’s 2-1 win over AmaZulu, the former Stellenbosch FC star was forced out after suffering what appeared as a hamstring injury. Orlando Pirates have since confirmed that Van Rooyen will miss Tuesday night’s trip to TS Galaxy.
“Right back Deano van Rooyen is a fresh injury concern for Pirates after he had to withdraw early against Usuthu,” the club reported.
“The 27-year-old was replaced by Paseka Mako in the first half and his potential absence could mean an opportunity for the likes of Thabiso Monyane and Bandile Shandu,” concluded Orlando Pirates.

After playing just four games for Marumo Gallants since his move from Jwaneng Galaxy in Botswana, reports say the 23-year-old Msendami has attracted Orlando Pirates.
“What we are not sure of is whether it’s for January or next season but what I can tell you is that the technical team are believed to be happy with the player,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
“The good thing is he is still young and can join the c still need him. But for now, it has just been inquiries.”
THREE TRANSFERS FROM MARUMO GALLANTS
Looking at the business history between the two club, Orlando Pirates have signed three players from Bahlabane Ba Ntwa over the past three seasons:
- Miguel Timm
- Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo
- Katlego Otladisa.
