Kaizer Chiefs star HOSPITALIZED! Out for 4-5 months – CONFIRMED

Kaizer Chiefs will have to make do without one of their top stars who has been ruled out for 4-5 months.

Kaizer Chiefs are set to undergo several changes in the coming weeks and months. In fact, Chiefs want to re-sign this former Amakhosi attacker.

So, some changes will be enforced and some are going to be tactical. Unfortunately, Nasreddine Nabi and Amakhosi management will have to replace one their key players as he is set to undergo surgery.

CHIEFS STAR SIDELINED FOR 4-5 MONTHS

Amakhosi midfielder, Edson Castillo, suffered a serious injury in the first half during Chiefs’ 1-0 loss against SuperSport United.

“It is with great dismay that we announce that Edson Castillo will be sidelined for a period of four to five months due to a fractured fibula sustained during the match against SuperSport United on Saturday evening in Polokwane. The serious injury occurred in the first half, as a result of a vicious tackle on him inside the oponnents’. 18-yard box,” the statement read on SNL.

Therefore, he will miss the rest of the year. Additionally, he will miss a large chunk of the start of 2025 – the Chiefs midfielder will be out of action until February or March.

NABI TO DIG INTO AMAKHOSI SQUAD DEPTH

Meaning, Nabi must dig deep into his squad to find a replacement.

Moreover, this could open the doors to Bafana Bafana midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa to play more frequently. Furthermore, Nkosnigiphile Ngcobo could be given another chance under Nabi.

As things stand, the aforementioned players and George Matlou are all keen for some much-needed game-time. Ultimately, when one door opens, another closes. These are the men who could be promoted and will be eager to stake their claim to starting berths in the green and gold of Chiefs.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Maart should return to the midfield alongside Gaston Sirino and Mdu Shabalala.

We wish Castillo a speedy recovery as he undergoes surgery.
