Kaizer Chiefs legend calls press to make MAJOR announcement

Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune has called a press conference to make a MAJOR announcement.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Khune had invited the media to his press conference for next week.

KAIZER CHIEFS LEGEND KHUNE TO MAKE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT

According to he legendary goalkeeper, the said media briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, 6 November.

Expectations are that Khune will officially announce his retirement from professional football as well as his future plans.

Khune, who spent 25 years at Chiefs, seemingly donned the club jersey for the last time this past season.

However, at the time, the Amakhosi legend appeared reluctant to hang up his gloves as the two parties were still in talks.

Now, ffollowing the arrival of Nasreddine Nabi, Chiefs never said anything about Khune’s future as a player in the media.

As a result, Khune never had a pre-season with Chiefs nor was he registered for the current campaign.

It now appears as if Khune has made up his mind, and he’s ready to move on from wanting to play at the highest level.

Of course, Khune had an option to reject that offer and move on but his love and loyalty for Chiefs didn’t allow him.

As things stand, Khune is working as a football pundit for SABC Sport TV, and has done well for himself in his new venture.

Whether or not that’s the path the 37-year-old wants to take going forward remains to be seen.

But it is worth mentioning that Khune did complete his goalkeeper coaching course while he was still an active player.

And expectations are that he will, one day, coach the Chiefs senior team goalkeepers to impart his knowledge.

Chiefs previously made a commitment to offer Khune a non-playing position if he decides to retire.

IS IT TIME FOR KHUNE TO RETIRE?
