Zwai Bala has banned his brother, Phelo Bala from using the ‘Bala’ surname for commercial purposes amidst their ongoing feud.
PHELO PROHIBITED FROM USING THE BALA NAME FOR ANY BUSINESS VENTURES
The latest season of ‘The Bala Family‘ has been dramatic, with Phelo at the forefront because of his alleged drinking problem. He has been fighting with his siblings and is being accused of not taking accountability and not changing his behaviours, and there appears to be no resolution in sight.
It’s no secret that Phelo doesn’t see eye to eye with his siblings particularly, Zwai and Pinky. He is accused of drinking too much and discussing the family affairs with others. Through the show, it has been revealed that he is not a Bala and does not share the same father them, which makes him feel excluded.
In a recent episode of the show, Phelo says he wants to leave the family’s brand and be independent. This leads to Zwai prohibiting him from using the Bala surname.
ZWAI PENS A HEARTBREAKING EMAIL TO PHELO
A user on X with the handle @brainzbhungane posted a video from the show in which Zwai Bala tells Phelo that he is not permitted to use the family surname for any business ventures.
Zwai sent the email to Phelo in 2019 and it reads:
“Dear Phelo, your business opportunities were and are still highly due to the strength of the brand Bala, which you were afforded access to.
“Again, you’ll agree that this is way more than just a regular surname as it has immense value carried mostly by its reputation. A lifelong investment went into this brand. To cut to the chase, I think it is only fair of me to afford you the opportunity to willingfully surrender the use of brand Bala for commercial use without taking legal steps,” he said.
X USERS WEIGH IN

@NorseTemet wrote “Ngesintu they were wrong to have the boy take the Bala surname when he is not a Bala in the first place. The reasons and manner in which they are stripping him are not correct. For his liberation and a sound direction in life, he should dump it.”
@ZiziphoDyubeni wrote: “This might be the blessing Phelo did not know he needed. I hope things work out for him. May this spark a desire for him to connect with his ancestral lineage, as it may unlock a new dawn for him. I won’t say much about uBig Bro loo!”
