BBC Studios Africa, in collaboration with VitaminQ, hosted a BBC Brit-inspired Game Night at The Wild Side in Johannesburg on 31 October 2024, bringing popular British game shows to life for South African fans.
The event allowed attendees to participate in live-action versions of BBC Brit’s famous gameshows, including The Chase, Deal or No Deal, and Would I Lie to You?, creating an electrifying atmosphere filled with laughter, trivia, and competition.
One of the evening’s highlights was the fierce competition among the teams, with “Mr Bean’s Teddy” emerging as the big winners. They walked away with R2,500 in cash, a bottle of tequila, and a R750 meal voucher from The Wild Side. Additionally, they earned the honor of having their team name engraved on the prestigious VitaminQ trophy, a memorable mark of their triumph.
Inspired by the event, BBC Brit suggests viewers bring these fun-filled games home for their own game nights. Recreate the excitement of The Chase by setting up trivia rounds with a “Chaser” or master your poker face with Would I Lie to You?, testing how well family and friends can spot a lie. With just some paper, a few questions, and a touch of creativity, anyone can set up their own BBC Brit-inspired game night.
The Game Night not only provided endless fun but also reminded fans to tune into BBC Brit on DStv Channel 120 for more iconic game show moments.
Viewers can catch The Chase on weekdays at 19:00 and Would I Lie to You? on Fridays at 20:00 for more game night inspiration.
