Several provinces will experience high temperatures on Sunday due to a persistent heatwave, according to the South African Weather Service.
Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Free State, and the northern and north-western parts of KwaZulu-Natal will face extremely hot conditions in the next two days.
“Heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected over Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Free State, North West, as well as the north-eastern areas of Eastern Cape & KwaZulu-Natal, from Saturday (02-04 November 2024) until Monday,” said SA weather service.
Temperatures are expected to reach the high 30s in many regions with no rain expected. Hot conditions are expected to last until Monday as the heatwave makes way.

In Johannesburg, expect a high of 33°C on Sunday and Monday while Pretoria can soar to 36°C and 37°C respectively on those days.
Cooler weather is expected from Tuesday in many regions with isolated to scattered and widespread showers predicted.
Johannesburg Emergency Services (EMS) spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi has urged residents to stay hydrated, drink lots of water and stay away from direct sunlight between 11:00 and 15:00.”
