Football fans were left in hysterics after watching Jose Mourinho’s failed attempt at a knee slide while celebrating Fenerbahce’s 102nd minute winner against Trabzonspor.

In a dramatic match in the Turkish Super Lig, former Manchester United star Fred opened the scoring for Mourinho’s side before Trabzonspor fought back to lead 2-1.

Edin Dzeko equalised for the away team before Sofyan Amrabat, another United old boy, fired in the winner in the 12th minute of injury time, sparking wild scenes in the Fenerbahce dugout.

Mourinho and his coaching staff ran onto the pitch to celebrate with their players, with the ‘Special One’ attempting a knee-slide – only to not quite pull it off.

The 61-year-old stacked and went face first into the grass, only to impressively roll over and end up back on his knees before being mobbed by his team.

Unsurprisingly, the moment went viral on social media, with fans left crying with laughter and delighted that the former Chelsea, United and Tottenham boss hasn’t lost his passion for the game.

The win moves Fenerbahce to second in the table, five points behind rivals Galatasaray, but there was more drama to come as Mourinho broke into a stunning rant during his post-match press conference.

The legendary manager has criticised the referees and VAR in Turkey on several occasions and did so again, this time claiming he never would have joined Fenerbahce over the summer had he known what they were like.

‘The man of the match was Atilla Karaoglan. The invisible man. The referee on the field is just a child,’ he told reporters.

‘We don’t want to see him in our matches again. We don’t want him as a VAR either. We don’t want him on the field either.

‘Before I came here, I was told a lot of things and I didn’t believe it. It was even worse.

‘If they told me the whole thing, I would not come to Fenerbahce. They told me half of the story before I came. If they told me the whole thing, I would not come if I knew.’
