You now have even longer to capitalise on double XP in Black Ops 6, as Treyarch addresses a progression issue.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been widely praised as a return to form for the franchise, with the title becoming the fastest selling entry in the series ever.
Along with bringing back the classic prestige levelling system, the latest game introduces a 1990s setting and omnimovement mechanics, which means players can now run and dive in any direction.
Following the game’s launch on October 25, developer Treyarch staged a double XP weekend for Black Ops 6 beginning on Friday, November 1. While it was set to conclude later today, players now have even longer to capitalise on the increased rewards.
On Friday, November 1, Treyarch resolved an issue which ‘occasionally’ limited the amount of XP being given out to players. After acknowledging the problem, the developer announced it had extended the double XP weekend to compensate.
‘Last night we addressed an issue that occassionally limited the amount of 2XP awarded to some players as we continue to assess and balance progression tuning,’ Treyarch posted on Twitter.
When does the Black Ops 6 double XP weekend end?
Following the bug, players have an extra day to grind for upgrades at an accelerated pace, with the double XP weekend set to end on Tuesday, November 5 at 6pm GMT in the UK. This translates to 10am PT in the US.
During this time, players will receive double XP across Black Ops 6 multiplayer and Zombies. This includes double account XP to boost your overall level, double weapon XP for upgrades, and double Gobblegum earn rate for Zombies – which are consumable items for special bonuses to make easy work of the undead hordes.
This promotion coincided with the arrival of Nuketown into the multiplayer map rotation. The map, which originally featured in 2010’s Black Ops, has been given a remastered visual overhaul in Black Ops 6.
The first season for Black Ops 6 is set to begin on November 14, which will include new maps and modes across multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.
