Emmerdale’s Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) broke down in tears and hugged colleague Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) as she received yet another devastating blow.
The popular character, as viewers know, is adamant that Tom King (James Chase) is guilty of the abuse that wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has accused him of.
Jimmy (Nick Miles), however, refuses to accept that his nephew would be capable of such terrible behaviour and thus has stood by him, which led to Nicola moving out of Victoria Cottage with the kids.
The division between the couple couldn’t have come at a worse time, with daughter Angelica (Rebecca Bakes) having been released from the secure unit last week.
With Tom having terrorised Carl (Charlie Joyce), Nicola refused to let her children be under the same roof as him and, with Jimmy refusing to kick Tom out, she decided to move out of her home instead – taking the kids with her.
Angelica, meanwhile, struggled to settle back into the village and confided in friend Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) that she wishes she never came back – and that she doesn’t want to return to school.

Worried for her, Cathy relayed this information to Bob, who subsequently notified Nicola.
Devastated for her daughter’s plight, Nicola broke down in Bob’s arms, branding herself and Jimmy ‘terrible parents’.
Jimmy, meanwhile, caused a scene on Main Street, confronting Sam (James Hooton), blaming him for Tom’s recent attack.
Nicola sighed and urged her husband to wake up and see that Tom isn’t the person he thinks he is.
Jimmy begged Nicola to return home but she stood her ground, refusing to let Tom anywhere near their kids.
Will Jimmy see sense and realise that Nicola is correct about Tom?
And can Jimmy put his thoughts on the matter aside so that he and Nico can come together to support Angel?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
