Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) was left in a devastating situation in recent Coronation Street scenes when Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) ashes were stolen.
Billy has been struggling in the wake of Paul’s death, and in tonight’s episode decided to throw himself head-first back into work, much to the horror of Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
However, Billy was adamant that his parishioners needed him, and headed out to hold his addiction group.
It was there that he met Wayne, who revealed that he was a friend of Paul’s from a long time ago.

When Summer found Wayne alone in the house, she was completely terrified, and when Billy explained that he was there to help them remove the extra handrails in the flat she wasn’t any less concerned.
She warned that Billy was too trusting for his own good, though Billy refused to see the dangers.
However, it would soon turn out that Summer was right to be wary, when Billy left Wayne alone in the flat.
As he headed to the corner shop to pick up some food, he bumped into Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) and informed her of his visitor.
Bernie was horrified, and warned that Wayne was no good, and had got Paul into a lot of trouble as a youngster as he was a liar and a thief.
Worried Billy rushed home, but he was too late, and found a distraught Summer in the flat alone.
