Solly Moholo‘s daughter, Louisa Molokoane, has finally addressed criticism following the viral video of her high-end shopping spree.
SOLLY’S DAUGHTER FACES BACKLASH AFTER VIRAL SHOPPING VIDEO
It’s been a few weeks since renowned gospel musician Solomon Majafela Mokokoane, popularly known as Solly Moholo, passed away, and now his daughter is in the news for allegedly spending his money lavishly.
A video of Louisa with luxury Louis Vuitton and Gucci shopping bags, accompanied by heavily armed security, became a trending topic online after being filmed in a shopping mall.
In the video, she appears cheerful as she walks while holding the luxury shopping bags and striking poses for the camera. The video has sparked outrage online, with many accusing her of squandering her father’s insurance payout.
LOUISA FINALLY SPEAKS OUT
Louisa has addressed online critics in a lengthy post on social media.
“I dare you to show me proof of payment for the donation money I ate. What you don’t know is that this was an advance that we had to pay because it was just one person who helped us with that.”
“All we were trying to say was help out when someone is in need- ke botho (it’s humane) and if you can’t, it’s understandable. It wasn’t forced.”
‘THERE IS NO NEED FOR ASSUMPTIONS’
She stated that her father helped many people throughout his life and addressed those who were concerned about the source of funds for her shopping spree.
Many were concerned because, before Moholo’s passing, his family had pleaded with the public to donate R700,000 toward his medical bills, and now his daughter is seen living lavishly.
“Papa helped so many people. It was in his blood. He did a lot of giving back. Some of you suggested a public hospital because it was free- some people don’t know the public isn’t free. Some of you said he had already passed while he was fighting.”
“There are battles we had to face- some you guys don’t know behind the scenes. If I were to talk, it could take the whole day. Having a loved one in hospital is heartbreaking- there is no need for assumptions and mean opinions,” she continued.
