My five fave things to do to celebrate Bonfire Night

Bonfire night, Guy Fawkes night, firework night… Whatever you choose to call it it’s a small but fun holiday that brings some joy to the miserable, cold months of autumn. In my opinion after tonight it also marks the beginning of Christmas (argue with the wall). So, here are my top five activities to do to celebrate Bonfire Night in style:

1. Watch fireworks

It goes without saying really but attend a firework show! They’re a fun (and often free) event to attend and can be a magical way to spend an evening.

2. Toast marshmallows

A fun (and yummy) way to while away your night. I love a mallow and they’re great on their own or on a hot chocolate. It’s a great Bonfire Night snack. Be careful with the fire tho xoxo

3. Go on fairground rides

Often at firework displays, torchlit processions or carnivals there are rides as well and I myself love a go on the waltzers on Bonfire night.

4. Light a bonfire and use sparklers

A classic really, some guy tried to blow up parliament (unsuccessfully) hundreds of years ago and ever since we have lit bonfires to mock him. How British. Anyway, lighting a bonfire or using sparklers is another great way to spend your evening on the 5th November.

5. Watch a carnival

I’ve already mentioned this a little bit before, but loads of carnivals tale place around Bonfire Night in the UK and often the local bonfire association and clubs and businesses nearby get involved. It can be a really fun thing to partake in or watch.
