Commuters into London are facing major delays this morning after a broken rail was found at New Cross Gate.
All services travelling through this station are being cancelled or diverted after Network Rail inspectors found the damaged rail during overnight checks.
It was hoped repair work could be finished by 7.30am but it’s thought the closure could cause disruption until about 1pm, leading to delays throughout the morning.
A number of London Overground, Southern and Thameslink services are affected by the emergency repairs.
Currently the Overground is part suspended between New Cross Gate and West Croydon or Crystal Palace – however there’s currently good service on all other routes, as well as all London Underground lines.
