Ron Hale, a TV veteran and star of ABC’s General Hospital, has died at the age of 78.

The family of the star, from Michigan, confirmed on Wednesday, October 2, that he died on August 27 of this year.

As it stands, no cause of death has been revealed.

Ron, best known for his role as Mike Corbin in the US soap, was living in South Carolina after retiring from the acting industry back in 2018.

He portrayed Mike from 1995 right through to 2011. After his retirement, Ron was replaced in the soap by actor Max Gail.

The star also appeared on ABC’s Ryan’s Hope from 1975-1989. His portrayal of Doctor Roger Coleridge secured him two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor in 1979, and 1980.
