ALDI has unveiled its Christmas advert for the year and it sees Kevin the Carrot make a grand return.
The loveable character is once again the star of the bargain supermarkets’ festive reel.
Aldi‘s advert lands on screens this Monday and will be running throughout the festive period.
It begins in a festive village with a narrator informing viewers the spirit of Christmas has been stolen by thieves.
Viewers then see Kevin sleeping on a dinner plate only to be woken up with a message from Santa Claus tasking him with the mission of saving the holidays.
The advert is inspired by the Mission Impossible franchise, a classic film many households enjoy over the holidays.
Kevin enlists his wife Katie, who is also a carrot, to help carry out the task, using disguises and a case with a “false bottom’” to steal the spirit back from the evil Dr Humbug and her minions.
Viewers get a glimpse of Aldi’s Christmas turkey alongside a range of other food it has on offer this year as the pair carry out their quest.
The advert ends with the spirit being rescued and the villain being catapulted into the air following a dramatic explosion.
When the spirit, who is animated as a fairy, is freed they sprinkle dust across homes which creates a lavish Christmas spread.
Kyrsten Halley, marketing director at Aldi UK, said: “While the ad is packed with the light-hearted entertainment our shoppers have come to know and love, the message behind the campaign is a more serious one — we want to make sure everyone can have the best Christmas possible.
“It’s why we have a big focus on quality this Christmas while making sure our prices continue to be unbeatable.”
Aldi Christmas adverts through the years

Last year, viewers saw Kevin pay a visit to William Conker’s magical Christmas factory. in a nod to the classic Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory movie.
In 2022, the discounter’s Christmas advert was based on the festive film Home Alone.
It followed the character Kevin battling burglars after being left alone when the rest of his family went abroad.
The year before that viewers saw football star Marcs Rashford take on the voice of a radish alongside Kevin.
The animated ad was a Dickensian-style take on A Christmas Carol and follows the story of Ebanana Scrooge.
Its 2020 advert was based on the classic film Top Gun.
Aldi is not the only retailer getting in on the festive action.
