From Cuthbert the Caterpillar, to its Specialbuys and low, low prices, there’s a lot to love about Aldi.
But if you think your passion for the budget supermarket is deeper than any others, you could be in with a chance of winning £5,000.
For the first time ever, the supermarket is launching the Superfan Card, which will grant one winner £5,000 to spend in store.
While it might only be open to one person, this is a money-can’t-buy loyalty card, akin to the likes of the Nando’s Black Card, which is so exclusive you’ve probably never seen one IRL.
Aldi diehard fans can apply by explaining why they think they deserve to the card, in no more than £250 words.
Judges will carefully review all submissions to select the final winner, who will be the only person in the UK to hold the exclusive card.
According to the Office for National Statistics, the average UK household now spends approximately £4,124 on groceries annually, so your winnings should easily cover a year’s worth of shopping – especially as Aldi is officially the UK’s cheapest supermarket.
And, if you’ve got change after picking up your essentials, there’s always the middle aisle to riffle through – whether you nab yourself an air fryer, egg chair or inflatable kayak.
Richard Thornton, communications director at Aldi, said: ‘We know how passionate our customers are about Aldi, and we wanted to find a way to give something truly special back to Aldi’s biggest fan.
‘We can’t wait to see the creativity and enthusiasm in the entries. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we’re thrilled to be launching it.’
How to enter
If you’re sure the Superfan Card belongs in your wallet, it’s fairly straight forward to get involved.
To apply, entrants need to send their entry to aldicompetitions@citypress.co.uk, along with their name, age and where they are from, explaining why they’re Aldi’s biggest fan and deserve to win the free shop.
There are some rules through: all candidates must be aged 18 or over, and your short application cannot be any longer than 250 words.
The deadline for entries is 31st October at 11:59pm and the successful applicant will be contacted by 30th November 2024.

Where can you get the nation’s best baked beans?
It’s yet more good news for Aldi fans, as a Which? survey recently revealed that the nation’s best baked beans can be found in store.
A new study from the consumer watchdog, pitted supermarket brands over Heinz, and Branston, to see who came out on top.
And the winner? A 41p tin from Aldi.
And, in yet more shocking news, Branston came in second place, triumphing over rival Heinz.
Aldi’s Bramwells Baked Beans in a Rich Tomato Sauce (41p for 410g) earned a tasty 76% score in the analysis by Which?, and snagged both a Best Buy and a Great Value endorsement.
Result were gathered by asking 66 baked bean enthusiasts who regularly buy and eat beans, to blind-taste 10 different varieties from supermarket own-brands like Asda, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco, plus the well-known Heinz and Branston.
They rated the taste, texture, aroma, and appearance of each tin, giving their honest thoughts on what they liked and what they didn’t.
The final scores were calculated with flavour being the big winner, making up 50% of the overall mark. Then came appearance and aroma, each accounting for 20%, and finally, texture, which contributed 10%.
The tasters loved the look and smell of Aldi’s bargain offering, and nearly three-quarters (74%) reckoned the flavour was spot-on.
