AmaZulu are reportedly set to appoint Vusumuzi Vilakazi as their new head coach following the departure of Pablo Martin.
Martin was sacked on Monday night, and this was on the back Usuthu suffering their third successive league defeat.
AmaZulu lost their opening league to Polokwane City (2-1), then lost 3-1 to Kaizer Chiefs before Marumo Gallants beat them 1-0.
Now, the Durban-based has earmarked Vilakazi as the next in line, and that appointment could be made this week.
According to KickOff.Com, three coaching candidates have already been interviewed for the vacant position.
And Vilakazi is a hot favourite to get the job given that he’s already within the AmaZulu setup.
He is currently the club’s Diski Challenge coach.
Vilakazi was previously on the books of Richards Bay FC whom he helped survive relegation via the playoffs.
He has also had stints with Golden Arrows and Chippa United among other PSL teams he coached.
