Bafana Bafana star Jayden Adams has reportedly been dropped from the squad for the upcoming ties against Congo.
According to SABC Sport, the 23-year-old attacker did not arrive in Gqeberha as initially planned with the rest of the team. Adams was part of the Stellenbosch team that lost 3-1 to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final.
“Jayden Adams is replaced by [Sinoxolo] Kwayiba – why? I will not give so much comment about that, but the behaviour of Jayden forced me to put him out of the team,” said Bafana coach Hugo Broos as per SABC Sport.

Broos has confirmed that Orlando Pirates star Thalente Mbatha was also withdrawn from the Bafana Bafana squad to face Congo Brazzaville. The midfielder was withdrawn after scans confirmed a knee injury on Monday morning following his team’s MTN8 triumph.
Bafana face the Congolese in Gqeberha on Friday, and then they travel to Congo to play the return match on Tuesday, 15 October.
Mbatha and Adams will be replaced by Bathusi Aubaas and Sinoxolo Kwayiba.
“I want to see the real South Africa against Congo, we did not see the real South Africa in our last two games.”
I was not happy with the performance, but I was happy with the result (won 3-2 against South Sudan). I am a little bit less happy when I speak about the result against Uganda because I wanted to win that game,” Broos said.
Did Broos make the right decision to drop Jayden Adams?
