Kaizer Chiefs‘ new signing Gaston Sirino has been ruled out for two weeks after sustaining an abductor muscle injury.
The 33-year-old attacker featured in Amakhosi’s three matches so far this season. Since his arrival, the Uruguayan has been Chiefs’ star player scoring and providing assists at crucial phases of the game.
On Tuesday morning, Kaizer Chiefs announced that several players were out for several weeks. The FIFA international window, however, gives the injured stars the time off to concentrate on their rehabilitation to speed up their potential return to action.
Club physio, Dave Milner gave an update on some of the longer-term cases. “Gaston Sirino sustained an abductor muscle injury in the last match and he is improving nicely and we expect him to be in full training within two weeks,” said the Kaizer Chiefs physio.
Milner then elaborated on the state of some of the longer-term casualties.
“Another player progressing well is George Matlou. He has started running and doing some ball work and we are looking at a November return for him, “he added.

Another player, out is Tebogo Potsane. The winger twisted an ankle three weeks ago and is set to miss three weeks of action, says Milner.
“He went for a scan which showed some ligament damage, so we expect him to be out for around three weeks.”
“Edmilson Dove is out of the protective boot and is doing some preliminary walking. We are confident he will be able to start running in November,” Milner added.
Another Kaizer Chiefs player expected to return in the coming weeks is goalkeeper Brandon Petersen.
“Brandon had the pins removed from his finger and can start full training immediately,” said Milner.
