Five people were safely rescued from the water but a man in his 60s was unaccounted for.
A specialist search team recovered his body near Sunbury Weir earlier today, Surrey Police said in an update this evening.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but the missing man’s family have been informed.
The grieving family is being supported by a specialist officer from the force.
Cops are now probing the man’s death – but it is not being treated as suspicious.
Chief Inspector Andy Jenkins said: “Throughout this tragic incident we have been in close contact with the man’s family.
“We have offered them support and information during this incredibly difficult time.
“Our thoughts remain with them, and we ask that their privacy is respected while they come to terms with their loss.”
