A CAR expert has told how he bought the cheapest James Bond car ever at just £750.
Film fanatics and petrol heads have often been drawn to the impressive line-up of classic cars that feature in the 007 action but now anyone could nab a model featured in Casino Royale.
Matthew Goodwin, owner of High Peak Autos Ltd, told how he found the second-hand 2009 Ford Mondeo.
He said: “I’ve only gone and bought a James Bond car haven’t I.
“That’s right this car is just like the one Daniel Craig drove in Casino Royale.
“You’ll be racking your brains now trying to think of what V12 Aston Martin have I bought.. well I actually haven’t, it isn’t an Aston Martin, it is.. you ready for this.
“What I bought ladies and gents is a 2009 Ford Mondeo, you weren’t expecting that were you.
He revealed all while taking to his YouTube channel with 420,000 subscribers.
The five door, 2.5 Litre ST version has been described as “the most unsuspecting Bond car” by one Reddit user.
In the 2006 Hollywood blockbuster, James Bond can be seen driving the specific vehicle on his way to a hotel in The Bahamas.
It featured in the film more than a year before its official release to the public and so was shipped over in a veil of secrecy.
Matthew goes on to explain how he bought the car from a local main dealer for just £750 and that it could be a “good” and “honest” car for those looking for something reliable.
The 2009 model featured in the YouTube video was a diesel TDCi, Titanium X making it one of the best specs of this particular type of car.
It even boasted heated seats and was described as being in “good order” despite having done 120,000 miles.
The used car company owner then explains how those hoping to purchase a second-hand vehicle should check out Car Vertical or a similar site to thoroughly understand the car’s history.
Many took to the comments section under the video to express their opinions about the cheaper James Bond car.
One user said: “For a car design that’s near on 18 years old, I think they still look fairly fresh and have aged well.
“Nice quality interiors too.”
Another put: “Mine 2010 2L TDCi Mondeo Edge is in the same colour. Love it. Have had it for 5 years and now 80,000 miles later not planning to sell it anytime soon.
“Using it for leisure trips around UK. Carried me to every corner of Britain except for the Channel Islands and Shetlands.”
Someone else commented: “This era of Mondeo is probably the most reliable modernish Ford for real.”
A fourth wrote: “Almost identical to mine Matt. It’s been brilliant never let me down, lots of space, tows a caravan well.
“Also paid £750.”
It comes after four other iconic motors that have featured in the Bond series were put on sale for over £1 million each earlier this year.
The Aston Martin DB5 has made appearances in Sean Connery’s 1964 Goldfinger as well as Thunderball, Casino Royale and Skyfall.
The four different DB5’s offered something for anyone looking to splash the cash with the fourth being little more than a shell allowing future owners to customise the Aston.

The 2006 blockbuster showed off more than the Ford model but fans may not remember them all.
- An Aston Martin DB5 can be spotted after Bond wins a poker game and claims the car from a gambling villain.
- Not to be confused with the previous mention, the Aston Martin DBS featured in the film before being destroyed in a high speed car pursuit.
- A Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and Ford Explorer were captured in one scene being used by the Miami-Dade Police Department.
- Heading to a hotel in the Bahamas, Bond can be seen driving a Ford Mondeo 2.5 Litre ST.
- The Jaguar XJ8 can be spotted twice in the movie with eagle-eyed cinema goers perhaps recognising the vehicle being used to kidnap Vesper Lynd or at the end of the film being returned to the estate.
- Finally, a Range Rover Sport was used by Le Chiffre’s henchmen when Bond deliberately crashes into a hotel parking lot.

MAX VERSTAPPEN launched an X-rated rant after a late red flag call saw him knocked of qualifying early in Brazil.
The three-time champ finished a disappointing 12th as the heavy rain of Sao Paulo saw FIVE crashes at Interlagos – which is a qualifying record.
Lance Stroll slid into a wall as he attempted a turn during Q2 and a third red flag was shown, albeit after a long 40 second delay.
FIA race director Niels Wittich attempted to let those doing a flying lap finish their laps.
But during that time Verstappen was bumped into the bottom five and was unable to get another lap in because the session was not resumed, with team-mate Sergio Perez also eliminated in 13th for the same reason.
It meant the Dutchman finished 12th, two places behind the top 10 who qualify to make it through to Q3.
The reigning F1 world champion and 2024 leader thumped his wheel in anger as his title hopes took a potential dent.
Unhappy with Wittich’s call, Verstappen launched into a foul-mouthed rant on the radio to voice his discontent.
He raged: “A car hits the wall and it needs to be straight red flag.
“I do not understand why it needs to take 30 or 40 seconds for a red flag to come out, it is just bulls****.

“Honestly, I will let it go. It is so stupid anyway to talk about, it is ridiculous.”
To make matters worse for Verstappen, he will serve a five-place grid penalty after changing his engine for a sixth time this season, to begin in 17th in the Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, title rival Lando Norris, who is 47 points behind before today’s race, will start at the front after he took pole position.
A win will see Norris close the gap on Verstappen, who hasn’t won since June, with four races remaining.
The red flag was the third of a hectic session after Carlos Sainz also suffered a crash earlier in Q2.
Mercedes‘s George Russell makes up the front row and RB’s Yuki Tsunoda finished in a shock third from Alpine’s Esteban Ocon, and Liam Lawson was fifth.
Lewis Hamilton was surprisingly eliminated in Q1.
But there were big crashes for Williams’ Franco Colapinto, Ferrari‘s Sainz, Aston Martin pair Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso.
And Alex Albon, who had the worst collision of all, will not start the race due to damage.
The fifth red flag equalled the qualifying record from the chaotic scenes at Imola in 2022.

Coleen Rooney ‘set to cash in up to £5million’ after signing up to I’m A Celebrity in show’s biggest ever deal
COLEEN Rooney is set to “rake in up to £5million” after her stint on I’m A Celebrity.
Noted as one of the ITV‘s biggest signings for the show, Coleen, 38, is thought to have netted the biggest pay deal in the history of the show – more than Nigel Farage‘s £1.5million last year.
It’s thought ITV bosses hope Coleen will spill the beans on life with hubby Wayne and her epic fallout with Rebekah Vardy.
It is now thought that Coleen could make a killing after her time on the ITV show.
PR expert Lynn Carratt has revealed that Coleen’s motives have nothing to do with money or Vardy.
Instead, she believes the star is excited to focus on her career after taking time off to care for her family – and prioritise husband Wayne’s football career.
Coleen’s net worth is thought to be around £15.1million, but Lynn believes she could pocket an extra £5 million due to her jungle stint, she says on behalf of Slingo.
“Coleen could definitely make around £5 million if she does well in fashion and family brands,” Lynn said.
“Asda paid her £3 million back in 2010 to front a George campaign and Littlewoods paid her £2 million.
“She’ll likely bring out her own fashion edit with one of the affordable brands, which could earn her a big sum.”
As for her past feud with Vardy, Lynn believes there’s every chance that Coleen could be willing to spill the tea on the drama and give her version of events.
“Even though she is rumoured to be the highest-paid celeb ever on the show, I don’t believe for her it is about the money,” Lynn shared.
“She and Wayne already have enough money to last them the rest of their lives. Coleen built a successful career for herself in the past but she turned down a lot of opportunities when she became a mum.
“She even upped sticks from her beloved Liverpool to live in Washington while Wayne played for DC United. His career came first.
“Now Wayne is back working in the UK, it is Coleen’s time to pick back up her career and develop it.
“She will really want to make her family proud. There is no better show to do it on than I’m Celebrity, as it can show how likeable and tenacious a person can be.”
She added: “Coleen will be well aware that Rebekah Vardy previously competed on the show in 2017 and was the fourth star to be evicted after 16 days, so I’m sure Coleen will be aiming to top that.
“Producers will be hoping Coleen will be spilling tea while being a campmate, and viewers have already been glued to the Rooney documentary and Coleen: The Wagatha Story.
“We know Coleen isn’t averse to spilling the tea, so let’s hope there is plenty more to spill…”
Coleen has landed a bumper pay cheque after singing up for the show.
A telly source told The Sun on Sunday: “I’m A Celeb bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board.
“She’s always been a massive fan of the show and loves watching it with her boys.
“ITV are over the moon that the stars have aligned this year and she can fit it in. The series is set to be one of the best yet.
“Coleen has a huge fanbase and she won massive plaudits for her classy handling of the Wagatha Christie case.
“She’s excited to show fans a different side to her and prove she can survive without her creature comforts.”
Coleen taking part in the show is also thought to be another insult to her Wagatha Christie rival Rebekah Vardy, who took part in 2017 but was booted out early.
The source added: “The campfire chats are set to be bombshells as there is so much she could lift the lid on, from all the drama of the Wagatha trial to her turbulent marriage to Wayne and his football career.
“She is expected to be very popular with viewers and she could triumph over Becky again if she goes further in the competition than her.”
Coleen will leave her four sons and husband Wayne to fly out next month to compete in the Bushtucker Trials. The Liverpool couple share sons Kai, 14, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six.
Wayne now splits his time between the family’s £20million Cheshire home and Devon, where he manages Championship team Plymouth Argyle.
The insider added: “Now that Wayne is no longer working in the US and the children are older, Coleen is more available to throw herself into work projects.
“She has an incredibly tight-knit family, who can help out with childcare while she is away.
“Her boys will love watching her on the show. She isn’t a fan of bugs and creepy-crawlies or sleeping outdoors, but she is up for a challenge and has great determination.”
