Alesha Dixon reveals career plans away from Britain’s Got Talent saying ‘I’d like to do more’
ALESHA Dixon has revealed her career plans away from Britain’s Got Talent after 12 years on the panel.
Singer Alesha, 46, opened up about her career ambitions and future plans in television, with over a decade on the ITV show under belt, as well as three years as a Strictly judge.
Alesha Dixon has revealed her career plans away from Britain’s Got Talent[/caption]When asked if there were any remaining ambitions on her bucket list, she told OK! in a new interview, “I actually think I’ve done them all.
“When I was young, I used to watch Strictly Come Dancing and say, ‘That’s the only one I want to do,’ and I did.”
However, Alesha hinted that she is not entirely done with exploring new opportunities, confessing: “But I’d like to do more shows in the US.”
She previously appeared as a judge on America’s Got Talent: The Champions after being drafted in by Simon Cowell.
The Breathe Slow songstress was joined by her old boss, alongside Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel for the spin-off’s second season.
But the format was axed shortly afterwards and she never made it to the main series, where Heidi sits alongside Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara.
Speaking to The Mirror months later, in June 2020, Alesha revealed her hopes to take on the American market once again.
She said: “It was a dream of mine to work on American television. Everybody gets to a point where they get itchy feet, they want to try something new and be challenged.
“The UK is quite small. Once you’ve worked on Britain’s Got Talent and Strictly, the pool of shows is quite limited.
“When I look at America, it seems like there’s more.
“I like to step into an arena that makes me feel afraid – it’s good for me. By stepping out of my comfort zone, great things come.
“I was really scared in the most amazing way. I can’t wait for lockdown to be over so I can go back.”
Over in the UK, Alesha co-stars with Simon, Amanda Holden and KSI, who is standing in for Bruno Tonioli as he films Dancing With The Stars, the American version of Strictly.
Simon has since stepped down from his role to grieve the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne.
Filming for the upcoming series was halted in the wake of Liam’s tragic passing – but later resumed without the music mogul.
Alesha shot to fame in 2001 as a member of Mis-Teeq, with the Hertfordshire-native pursuing a career on her own after the band split in 2005.
She released two singles, but they didn’t match the band’s success and she was swiftly dropped by her record label.
However, her Strictly win in 2007 served to revitalise her career – with the star being snapped up as a judge and by a rival label.
Under Asylum Records, The Boy Does Nothing sold one million copies worldwide while her 2008 album The Alesha Show went platinum, and she toured the UK as a solo act.
There have long been talk of a Mis-Teeq reunion and Alesha, herself, has even said it would be a “disaster” if the band never came back together.

SHARON D Clarke is a three time Olivier Award winner and is best known to television audiences for her role as Lola in Holby City and Grace in Dr Who.
She is currently on television opposite Lennie James in the BBC‘s Mr Loverman and stars in the new Channel 5 detective drama, Ellis.
Sharon played DCI Ellis in the first episode of Ellis which aired on Thursday[/caption] Sharon won an Olivier Award for her role in Death of a Salesman[/caption] Sharon is also currently on television in a starring role in Mr Loverman on BBC One[/caption] Sharon played Grace in Dr Who amongst many TV appearances.[/caption]Sharon has had an extensive career, appearing in an array of other TV shows including The Bill and EastEnders, as well as BBC drama The Shadow Line.

She won her second Olivier for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Caroline Thibodeaux in the 2018 West End production of Caroline of Change.
She reprised the role on Broadway in 2021, earning her both Tony and Grammy Award nominations.
In October 2020, she won her third Olivier for her role in the revival of Death of a Salesman at London‘s Young Vic.
It is no wonder therefore that Sharon chose a romantic stage setting to be married in when she tied the knot with wife Susie McKenna in 2008.
Sharon, who was born in Enfield, North London said: “I have loved Hackney Empire from the first time I saw her. My dad used to play bingo there.
“In 1999, I played Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, written and directed by a lady called Susie McKenna, who I eventually married on the Empire stage in 2008.”
She added: “This beautiful theatre has given me the love of my life and a family who are my true peeps to this day.”
In a new interview with The Guardian Sharon reflected on her illustrious career and said: “I’ve never really known what’s coming around the corner.
“I started at dance school when I was six, so I knew that I wanted to be a part of this industry, but I never asked for fame.”
She added that her 15-year-old self watched Dr Who from behind the sofa and would say: “Wow, this is madness, you’ve gone to Broadway and been on Doctor Who.”
Sharon concluded by saying: “I feel very lucky. The universe has been wonderful to me in my chosen career, so I will continue to leave things in the universe’s hands.”

Tyson Fury to draft in unbeaten Brit heavyweight likened to Mike Tyson for sparring ahead of Oleksandr Usyk rematch
TYSON FURY is to bring Moses Itauma back into his training camp for sparring ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Itauma was part of Fury’s initial camp earlier in the year in Saudi Arabia before the Gypsy King suffered a horror cut.
It delayed the undisputed title decider to May, which Usyk would go onto win by decision to become the first four-belt heavyweight champion.
Now the pair rematch on December 21 in Riyadh with Itauma on the undercard against 21-1 Aussie Demsey McKean.
But he is set to be part of Fury’s training camp as a southpaw sparring partner trying to replicate Usyk.
Itauma told Sky Sports: “We’re kind of similar styles, the likes of me and Usyk, we’ve kind of got a similar style so I feel like I’ll be very beneficial.
“It just compliments me. It compliments me but listen, I’m not going to go there just to help him.
“I want to gauge my ability off his ability. Obviously I’m looking forward to [that].”
Itauma, 19, has been likened to a prime Mike Tyson who became the youngest heavyweight champ of all time aged 20.
He is now 10-0 with eight knockouts and considered one of the top prospects in the world – having shared the ring with Fury.

Itauma said: “Whether it was inside the ring or outside the ring, I learned a lot definitely from being in camp with Tyson.
“Outside the ring, [it is about] maybe getting a balance in life. Inside the ring being a bit more patient, a bit calmer, not trying to kill everyone.
“People have pulled out of fights with me and I don’t blame them. If I was in their shoes, I would pull out as well.
“I wouldn’t want to fight me either. [But] I have to show it. It’s all good everyone talking about it but I’ve actually got to back it up.”
