I played Blackpool-themed games at Sun Bingo ahead of All Star Hotel
IN this Keep up with Katrina, I took my budget of £10 and focused on games that made me think of Blackpool.
To celebrate the return of All Star Hotel, I devoted this Sun Bingo gaming session to the slots that honoured some of Blackpool’s most iconic sites.
JOIN SUN BINGO NOW AND GET A £60 BINGO BUNDLE TO PLAY WITH*
The All Star Hotel will soon be opening its doors once again to a whole new group of honoured guests and their plus ones.
There’ll be incredible singing, dancing, entertainment, games and maybe even a few mystery celebrity guests.
You can still win your tickets to join us. Check out all of the details that you need to know below.
Before that, read all about how my Blackpool-inspired gaming session played out.
GET UP TO 25 FREE SPINS BY PLAYING THE SLOT LIGHT GAME
Was it a towering success? Was it a pleasure to play? Shall I illuminate the details of what happened?
Let’s see how I got on…
Temple of Light
- Spent £3.20
- Won 10p
Perhaps synonymous with Blackpool are its world-famous illuminations.
PLAY OUR DEAL OR NO DEAL GAMES HERE
Every autumn, six miles of the promenade are lit up with traditional festoons, tableaux scenes and interactive displays.
According to its own website, it’s “the greatest free light show on Earth!”
Our All Star Hotel guests will have the chance to check out the illuminations for themselves as they’ll be in full swing when they check in.
Temple of Light seemed like an apt choice to honour the illuminations.
DISCOVER TASTY BAKING RECIPES TODAY
The bright, neon colours of the game certainly capture the spirit of Blackpool’s lights.
However, once I clicked into the game, it became apparent that the aesthetic was more focused on the “temple” notion, with ancient statues, candles, stonework and music you’d expect from an Indiana Jones film.
There are the usual slot game elements, including Scatters, Wilds and two bonus games.
The game seemed like it would be an interesting take on the well-used Ancient World theme.
THERE ARE 40 FREE GAMES OF BINGO DAILY TO ENJOY
However, as most of my spins didn’t create one of the 20 winning paylines, I had little chance to explore the additional game components.
Towers of Olympus
- Spent £3.20
- Won 12p
Although the connection between Tower of Olympus and Blackpool may not seem obvious, my thinking was that its skyline is dominated by its iconic tower.
Especially now that it is Strictly Come Dancing season, the tower will soon once again host an evening of waltzing celebrities.
LEARN HOW TO PLAY FLUFFY FAVOURITES SLINGO
The tower’s ballroom is a beautiful space, and all visitors have the chance to take a twirl for themselves.
Towers of Olympus not only pays homage to Blackpool’s tallest building (518ft) but it was also a chance to explore another slot game based in Ancient Greece, which is a personal favourite.
The player gets to feel like a mighty hero as the dramatic music creates a sense of adventure and excitement.
This is a 1024 ways game, with an additional “bet” function. It means that for a slightly increased bet amount, your chances of triggering a winning feature are increased.
WE HAVE DE-STRESS TECHNIQUES TO RECOMMEND
One criticism that I would have of this game is that it’s not very user-friendly when it comes to finding the game rules.
Personally, I like to check these out before I play so that I can full understand all of the potential outcomes of a spin.
Most games have these pages clearly labelled and easy to navigate.
It’s not necessarily enough to put a player off spinning but it’s something to think about if it’s important to your gaming experience.
As this was another game that didn’t add much to my winnings pot, I wasn’t able to explore whether there were many additional features.
HERE ARE ALL THE PROMOS AND OFFERS YOU CAN DISCOVER AT SUN BINGO
From my personal experience, this game didn’t do much to stand out in the Ancient Greek genre that has big hitters such as the Age of the Gods franchise.
Diamond Sands
- Spent £3.60
- Won £1.29
I’ll admit, the connection between this game and Blackpool is the most tenuous of the bunch.
However, hear me out: Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
DO YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY SLINGO GAMES?
What would you associate most with a beach? Sand!
Now that the clocks have gone back and the evenings are cold and dark, it did feel a little odd to be stepping into the tropical world of Diamond Sands.
With palm trees, sandy shores and music you’d expect to hear on a travel site advert, it definitely offered a sense of escapism from autumn in the UK.
One unusual element to this game is the Diamond Wheel. This is triggered randomly after a bonus token lands on the board.
CHECK OUT OUR FEEL GOOD FRIDAY DRINKS
Once it launches, the wheel awards one of four jackpots: Big, Major, Mega and Diamond.
These are worth x20, x50, x250 or x5000!
While jackpots are not a new concept, the idea of a visual spinning wheel to determine which jackpot is won creates a greater sense of excitement.

Colin Grafton reveals why Dancing On Ice has swerved Strictly-style scandals with BIG difference in rehearsals
DANCING On Ice pro Colin Grafton has shared how the show’s avoided Strictly-style scandals.
The 33-year-old skater has been part of the beloved ITV programme since 2023.
Colin Grafton has competed in two series of Dancing On Ice[/caption] BBC rival Strictly Come Dancing has been faced with two bullying scandals in recent months[/caption] Colin revealed the mechanics of Dancing On Ice’s rehearsals[/caption]This year, BBC rival Strictly Come Dancing has been faced with two bullying scandals.
Since its 2006 debut, however, Dancing On Ice has had almost no such controversy.
Although in 2020, singer Caprice and pro skater partner Hamish Gaman feuded.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Colin revealed a key difference between the two shows’ rehearsal methods.
He said: “It’s different for Dancing On Ice because we’re typically almost always miked and on camera for everything
“We film all our rehearsals, of course.
“You know, we’re limited to a certain amount of time on the ice.
“So we usually do training about two hours a day during this period.
“They have to purchase the ice and it’s private and all these things.
“So we’re typically always miked up and recording. Mostly always chaperoned.”
In July, Strictly pro Graziano Di Prima was axed from the BBC show over allegations of physical and verbal behaviour towards his former dance partner, TV personality Zara McDermott.
Graziano, 30, later posted an apology online, saying he “deeply regrets” his behaviour, announcing he would step back from this year’s series.
Meanwhile, actress Amanda Abbington, who withdrew from last year’s Strictly, branded her partner Giovanni Pernice‘s behaviour as “abusive, cruel and mean”.
The BBC cleared the 34-year-old Sicilian of ten out of 16 allegations when its probe concluded in September.

MAFS fans have flocked to compliment Emma after the reality star posted a snap on Instagram in swimwear.
The Bristol local was seen leaving the series in tears this week as her and Caspar called time on their marriage.
MAFS UK star Emma looks gorgeous in a swimwear pic she posted today[/caption] She got married to Caspar on the E4 reality show[/caption] Sadly the pair went separate ways this week after struggling to create a romantic spark[/caption]Things got off to a rocky start for the couple when Caspar admitted he wasn’t attracted to Emma on their honeymoon.
The crestfallen bride asked if he didn’t even think she looked good in her bikini earlier that day in the waterpark.
Shamefully, he responded that he’s “rarely gone for the curvier person”.
After that Emma struggled to connect with her husband, even when he decided he wanted to give their relationship a chance.
It was clear the comments about her body hurt her deeply, and she brought them up a few times during couch sessions with the experts and when her friends visited the couple during the E4 experiment.
Eventually the couple decided to break things off as Emma found herself unable to open up emotionally to Caspar.
He made it clear that without the emotional intimacy, he couldn’t progress with her physically, and in the end they both decided to call it quits.
Since the episode aired Emma has posted a cheerful recap of what she has been up to this October.
The photos on Instagram show her catching up with friends, attending a baby shower, and going for a dip at a swimming pool.
Fans gushed over her appearance in the demure black swimsuit, with one writing: “You are so beautiful Emma.”
Another added: “You are beautiful. Love your smile, attitude and sass.”
A third slated her former husband, saying: “You are tremendous, a true woman!
“Girl power, Casper didn’t know what was beautiful in front of him! Here’s to curvy gals! Loved watching you.”
Someone else joked: “Well you look happier than most married women!”

Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Stephen Bunting are the big hitters in pot one.
Meanwhile, Luke Littler and Peter Wright are in pot two.
But Gerwyn Price failed to make the cut after a shock 5-3 loss to Mickey Mansell in qualifying.
