Mike Tyson insists £60m Jake Paul fight is NOT for the money and reveals why he accepted controversial Netflix bout

MIKE TYSON insists his £60million match against Jake Paul is NOT money-motivated.

The heavyweight great returns to the ring on November 15 for a controversial clash against YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul.

Mike Tyson facing off with Jake Paul[/caption]

It will mark Netflix’s first foray into live boxing with the pair to split a massive $80million (£60m) purse down the middle.

But Tyson – who blew through £250m during his superstar heyday – claims he is not back in boxing because of the mega-bucks on offer.

He said: “The money from this fight is not going to change my lifestyle. This is not for financial reasons.

“My life is not gonna change, not one per cent after this fight, I will always be able to live this way and I’m just doing it because I wanna test myself.”

Tyson returns for his first professional bout since 2005 – almost 20 YEARS after quitting on his stool against tree surgeon Kevin McBride.

But he does so to headline in front of an expected crowd of nearly 80,000 at the Dallas Cowboy’s NFL stadium.

Reflecting on his career, Tyson said: “Boxing’s changed tremendously and I mean, I’m doing it more so now changing it by doing this fight.

“So I’m a part of boxing changing as well. When you think about it, not being egotistical, who else can do this?

“Just think about it. Go ahead and I’m not trying to jerk myself off, but who else could do this? Nobody, huh?”

Tyson’s already slammed comeback faced further scrutiny when he was was forced to pull out of the initial July 20 date due to a health precaution.

Iron Mike suffered an ulcer flare-up in his stomach during a flight – but has since been passed medically fit to resume training.

Although he will also have to undergo extra heart and brain checks due to his age while both will be subject to drug testing.

Amid the safety concerns, Tyson hit back: “I’m just doing really well.

“I’m very grateful that I’m doing well. I’m just looking forward to the fight, really looking forward to it.”

Even when Tyson last fought two decades ago it was clear to see his days as the Baddest Man on The Planet were far behind him.

But he says just a fraction of his brilliant best will be enough to beat 10-1 Paul.

He said: “When you think about it regardless of how old I am, this guy only has ten fights.

“He only has ten fights, if I can fight a little bit with my experience, he only has ten f***ing fights, okay?

“If I can fight 10 per cent of what I was, he only has ten fights, he couldn’t match that.

“And that’s being sincere. If I’m 10 per cent, he can’t match it.”

Tottenham snubbed Ollie Watkins transfer as Jose Mourinho refused to pay price tag… and signed flop striker instead

JOSE MOURINHO snubbed the chance to sign Ollie Watkins at Tottenham, because he cost too much money.

Watkins, 28, has become one of the Premier League’s top strikers at Aston Villa, with 48 goal contributions in all competitions since the start of last season.

The England ace has fired Unai Emery‘s side into the Champions League, and has solidified his status as England‘s No2 striker behind record goalscorer Harry Kane.

However, it has been revealed that Watkins could have played the same role at club level.

Former Tottenham manager, director and scout David Pleat has revealed how the North London side came close to landing Watkins in 2020.

He explained how then-Spurs boss Mourinho asked him about Brentford ace Watkins, before deciding that the £28million price tag was too much and therefore allowing Villa to swoop in.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Pleat, 79, said: “I spoke to Jose on a couple of occasions. I remember once he asked me about Ollie Watkins, I remember that quite clearly.

“And at the time the price Brentford was £28m, which Dean Smith took the opportunity at Villa – a lovely man, Dean Smith.

“We decided that that was too much money. Or Jose decided it was too much money to pay for a cover forward for Harry Kane.”

Since that summer, Watkins has scored 75 goals in all competitions for Villa, adding 29 assists to take his goal contribution tally to 109.

Spurs signed a number of strikers as cover options for Kane, but struggled to find the right star.

Fulham ace Carlos Vinicius was signed on loan from Benfica that summer instead, with the Brazilian scoring ten goals in all competitions, including one in the Premier League at a cost of a £2.7m loan fee.

In all, the 29-year-old has 41 goals and assists since 2020 from stints at PSV, Fulham and Galatasaray.

Pleat added: “And in the end, we went for Vinicius, a player who didn’t do too well. We has one of two other players who came as cover for Kane.

“They weren’t too successful, but they were cover players.

“And we never really had the succession ready to take over from Kane when the inevitability came that he would leave the club.”

Since then Richarlison was a nig-money signing from Everton, but only managed three goals and was plagued by injury in the final season before Kane left for Bayern Munich in 2023.

Other strikers the club have tried since Kane broke into the team in 2014 in an effort to cover him have also not worked out great.

Clinton N’Jie, Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente all tried and failed to be suitable cover options for Kane.

N’Jie, now 31, arrived at the club in 2015 for £8.3m but never scored for the club in 14 appearances.

Arriving in 2016 for £17m, Janssen, now 30, scored just six goals in 42 games for Spurs before leaving in 2019.

Ex-Swansea star Fernando Llorente was another option who arrived with the hopes of being effective cover for Kane in 2017.

He netted 13 goals in 66 games over two years at the club after arriving for £12m.

This means that over the nine seasons that Kane reigned supreme at the club, they spent £100m on back-up strikers for a return of just 32 goals in all competitions.

Last summer Dominic Solanke was brought in as the club’s new talisman for an initial £55m that could see £10m added.

The ex-Bournemouth ace, 27, has three goals in 12 games under Ange Postecoglou.

They face Aston Villa on Sunday for their next game.

Tottenham's top 10 biggest signings: Hit or miss?

1) Tanguy Ndombele – £52.7m

Ndombele joined from Lyon in 2019 with huge expectations after shattering Tottenham’s transfer record.

But he would go on to play just 91 times for the club, scoring 10 goals and is now set to leave one year before the end of his contract.

2) Richarlison – £49.3m

Richarlison almost broke the £50m mark when he arrived from Everton in 2022 as Harry Kane’s back-up.

And while his tally of 12 goals this season was a significant increase on the three from his opening Spurs campaign, he is being linked with a departure this summer.

3) Brennan Johnson – £46.8m

Johnson was signed by Ange Postecoglou last summer and has impressed in patches during his first season in North London.

He scored five goals and 10 assists in 38 games and will look to build on that in the 2024/25 campaign.

4) Cristian Romero – £44.2m

Romero initially joined on loan from Atalanta in 2021, before his impressive displays saw him secure a permanent deal the following year.

He is two games shy of 100 for Spurs and, while he can be reckless with his tackling at times, is beginning to form a promising partnership with Micky van de Ven.

5) James Maddison – £39.4m

Maddison was handed Kane’s No10 shirt after arriving at Spurs and hit the ground running with three goals and five assists in his opening 11 matches.

But after getting injured against Chelsea in October, he failed to return with the same sharpness – managing just five goal contributions in 15 league matches as he missed out on England’s final 26-man squad for the Euros.

6) Davinson Sanchez – £35.7m

Sanchez joined Spurs from Ajax in 2017 and played more than 200 games across a six-year spell.

But he was always considered a somewhat erratic defender who did not play more than 20 games in a Premier League season from 2020 onwards.

7) Pedro Porro – £34m

Porro was another signing who originally arrived on loan in January 2023, before he signed permanently last summer.

He has 54 appearances for Spurs under his belt, scoring seven goals and impressing under Postecoglou this season.

8) Micky van de Ven – £34m

Rapid Dutch centre-back Van de Ven was named Spurs Player of the Season in his first campaign at the club.

His pace, athleticism, and technical ability on the ball have made him arguably Postecoglou’s best signing to date.

9) Moussa Sissoko – £29.8m

Sissoko came to North London for a substantial fee after being relegated with Newcastle and went on to enjoy five years at Tottenham, playing more than 200 games.

Unfortunately for the French midfielder, he is best-known for giving away a controversial penalty for handball in the first minute of Spurs’ 2-0 Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in 2019.

10) Giovani Lo Celso – £27.2m

Lo Celso joined on loan from Real Betis in 2019 – a deal that was made permanent the following season.

He has 10 goals and eight assists in 108 games, with some Spurs fans still unsure about the Argentine.

Inside eerie Nazi cemetery in AMAZON with swastika tombs all that remain of secret Hitler plot for fascist jungle colony

AN eerie Nazi graveyard in the Amazon 5,000 miles away from Hitler’s party headquarters reveals a chilling plot for a fascist jungle colony.

Besides a river in a remote part of the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest rests the grave of Hitler’s pal Josef Greiner, complete with a nine-foot wooden cross emblazoned with the hateful Nazi symbol.

A wider shot of the graveyard[/caption]

The chilling grave commemorating the Nazi figure reads: “Josef Greiner died here of fever on Jan. 2, 1936, in the service of German research” and points to secret plans to colonise the region.

While it’s common knowledge that Nazi war criminals fled to South America following World War II, less is known about the warped plot to takeover South America before and during the war.

The Nazis wanted to set up a German bridgehead in the region by conquering a sizeable strip of the Amazon River basin and establish a “great South American Third Reich Empire”.

The plan, known as the Guyana Project, read: “The two largest scantly populated, but rich in resources, areas on earth are in Siberia and South America.

“They alone offer spacious immigration and settlement possibilities for the Nordic peoples…

“For the more advanced white race, it offers outstanding possibilities for exploitation.”

The plan was developed after SS member and keen geographer Otto Schulz-Kampfhenkel journeyed to the Amazon between 1935 and 1937 with Austrian writer Josef Greiner.

Over a 17 month period, they led a team of Nazi explorers through Brazil’s border with French Guiana.

The researchers collected animal skulls and indigenous jewellery before studying the topography along the Jari River – a 491-mile tributary in the Amazon.

Jens Glüsing, a Brazil-based correspondent for German magazine Der Spiegel who has written about the Guyana Project told the New York Times: “The expedition started out with the usual scientific pretensions.

“But back in Germany, as the war started, Schulz-Kampfhenkel seized on this idea for Nazi colonial expansion.”

Following the expedition, Otto presented the Guyana Project to Heinrich Himmler – the SS and Gestapo chief – back in 1940.

In the plan, he detailed how taking over parts of South America – namely French Guiana and modern day Suriname and Guyana – could dampen the influence of the US.

But the reality was that the twisted plan was doomed from the offset – French Guiana was already controlled by the collaborationist Vichy regime.

Other signs pointing to why the plan failed include logistical failures with Otto’s expedition.

The jet they used – the Nazi-backed Heinkel He 72 Seekadett seaplane – capsized just a few weeks into the journey.

Desperate, the stranded explorers were forced to rely on indigenous Amazonian tribes in the jungle to help them survive the harsh, unfamiliar conditions.

But the Nazis ended up catching diseases including malaria and Otto experienced a serious bout of diphtheria.

In the end, it was a brutal fever which killed Josef Greiner – one of the key men behind the cunning plan.

Today the grave serves to remind locals and tourists that it was once at risk of being under attack by the Nazis.

Last month we reported on a chilling map that reveals how Britain would have looked if Adolf Hitler had won World War Two – with a new capital far from London and a holiday home for the dictator.

Bombshell dossiers for Operation Sea Lion – Nazi Germany’s ambitious plan for a full-scale invasion of Britain – detail how the Third Reich planned an attack on the English coast in a bid to take over Europe.

Nazi planners identified five sectors of the English coast to attack – from Ramsgate in Kent to Selsey Bill in West Sussex.

They planned to land some 100,000 troops, 650 tanks and 4,500 horses in the first wave of the attack on September 21, 1940 on the southeast coast from the French ports of Le Havre, Cherbourg, Boulogne and Ostend.

Once a bridgehead had been established, a further 500,000 soldiers would have landed.

They would have begun mass territorial attacks between Ramsgate and Deal, Folkestone and Dungeness, Dungeness and Rye, Bexhill-on-Sea and Beachy Head and Brighton to Selsey Bill.

City of Troy’s biggest rival’s owner ALREADY planning rematch and reveals why his charge will win Breeders’ Cup Classic

CITY OF TROY’S biggest rival told Sun Columnist Matt Chapman he would challenge Coolmore to a rematch after thrashing them in the Breeders’ Cup Classic on Saturday.

In an entertaining interviewm the owner of 10-3 second fav Fierceness, Mike Repole, was bullish when asked if he “really believed” his horse could win.

https://twitter.com/AtTheRaces/status/1852312857699913831

There remains a question mark over whether City of Troy will handle the surface given he has only ever raced on turf before, unlike his rival who is well-practised on the dirt.

And Repole reckons this will be the unravelling of the horse who went unbeaten in Derby, the Coral-Eclipse and the Juddmonte.

Repole asked Chapman the rhetorical question: “Is this race on dirt or turf?”

To which Chappers, responding the only way he could, said: “Dirt.”

The feisty American replied: “You got it. There’s your answer.”

Repole continued: “In fact, I actually believe that after we beat him on Saturday on dirt, I’m going to ask Aidan and Coolmore if they want a rematch on Turf.

“Why can’t we have a match race between City of Troy and Fierceness and get a pay to view and get the whole world watching?

“It would garner more money for the sport and more eyes globally than the Kentucky Derby. I would do it 100 per cent.”

Chappers went on to refer to the ‘good-old-days’ of racing when matches between two horses were not uncommon.

The Todd Pletcher-trained Fierceness has so far won three from five of his starts and will, of course, have his work cut out in Saturday’s showpiece.

Callum Wilson wanted by four Premier League clubs in January transfer with Newcastle set to cash in on injury-prone star

CALLUM WILSON is set to become a target for FOUR Premier League clubs in January, SunSport understands.

The Newcastle striker has hardly featured this term due to an injury he sustained in pre-season.

Callum Wilson is set to become a target for four Premier League clubs in January[/caption]

But the England forward is close to returning and now a string of clubs are monitoring the player.

We can reveal Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brenftord and Southampton are all monitoring the player.

It’s thought Brentford are in pole position and see Wilson as the ideal replacement for Ivan Toney.

Fulham, meanwhile, are keen to add to their striking options and have money to spend.

Wilson is thought to be open-minded to a switch having found himself playing second-fiddle to Alexander Isak.

Now 32, it makes sense for Newcastle to move Wilson on not least because injury problems continue to plague him.

A back issue kept him out of action during pre-season, and he hasn’t been available for the beginning of the new Premier League campaign.

The £46,000-a-week striker has been a great servant for Newcastle, leading the line expertly and being hailed as “incredible” by Howe last year.

But only nine league starts came his way in 2024/25, and he’s keen to try and secure more game-time.

Wilson’s current Magpies deal also expires next summer, which means now is the last opportunity to receive a fee for his signature, prior to losing him on a free in 2025 instead.

The forward has 48 goals in 108 appearances for Newcastle since joining from Bournemouth in 2020.

Game of Thrones movie ‘in development’ five years after final series of smash-hit drama was SLAMMED by fans

THE SPRAWLING world of Game of Thrones may soon make its way to the big screen – despite the last series of the show receiving backlash.

It has emerged that Warner Bros. are aiming to bring George RR Martin’s epic creation of Westeros to cinemas.

The fantasy drama came to an end five years ago[/caption]

Hollywood Reporter revealed that the entertainment studio is actively exploring the project – albeit with no confirmed director, cast, or writer yet attached.

For years, Game of Thrones fans have wondered if the hit series would expand into feature films.

Early on, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss even advocated for ending the series with three theatrical releases rather than a traditional final season.

George RR Martin himself supported the idea, discussing potential film concepts back in 2014.

But at the time, HBO preferred to keep the series exclusive to television.

However, since the series concluded in 2019, shifts in Warner Bros.’ leadership and the film industry at large have made the idea of mixing cinema and TV more viable.

The success of projects like The Batman, which spurred the upcoming HBO Max spinoff The Penguin, and Dune, which has been followed by the series Dune: Prophecy, proved it is possible to bridge the gap between telly and film.

For Game of Thrones fans, this potential film project marks another exciting addition to the expanding universe.

Since the conclusion of the show, HBO has launched the highly successful prequel House of the Dragon.

HBO also has A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms scheduled for 2025 and additional prequels rumoured to be in development.

These projects all focus on the history of Westeros, but a movie could potentially open the door to exploring events set after the original series’ ending.

This comes after the last season of Game of Thrones came under heavy criticism for feeling ‘rushed’.

Even lead actor Kit Harington spoke out about the flaws with the finale, telling GQ Hype: “I think if there was any fault with the end of Thrones, is that we were all so f***ing tired, we couldn’t have gone on longer.

“I understand some people thought it was rushed and I might agree with them. But I’m not sure there was any alternative.

“I look at pictures of me in that final season and I look exhausted. I look spent. I didn’t have another season in me.

“Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think there were mistakes made, story-wise, towards the end maybe. I think there were some interesting choices that didn’t quite work.”

I met my husband when he was already in jail – trolls say I’m delusional but he provides for me & even bought me a car

Y’tis, met husband Will, who is in jail for robbery, two years ago, via a prison penpal website.

After Y’Tis wrote to Will, the couple began to chat back and forth every day and soon fell in love, before the prisoner popped the question a year into their relationship.

“It wasn’t your typical proposal that every woman has imagined growing up, but it was nice and sentimental”, she told Truly.

Y’Tis revealed that her husband has showered her with gifts whilst he’s been in prison and even bought her her dream car, a Jeep Wilys.

“I don’t know how he was able to afford the car, I know my husband does have a porter job at the facility”, she said.

She added that she knows her husband isn’t getting the money from “somewhere he shouldn’t” as she “wouldn’t allow it”.

Y’Tis’s friends were at first skeptical of the relationship, especially as they only found out about it because of a TikTok she posted, that went viral.

Her best friend Janelle said: “At first I thought ‘this girl is crazy’.

“She does adventurous stuff and is very spontaneous, but this was kind of extreme.”

Janelle said that she was at first concerned that Y’Tis was being scammed, but once she saw her “genuine happiness”, realised that the relationship was real.

Y’Tis said that she receives lots of judgment for sharing details of her relationship online, from people who say she is “delusional” and claim she is only with him for “followers and likes”.

However, she doesn’t let comments from trolls get to her.

She said: “I’m not going to let anyone discourage me”.

“For anybody that judges my relationship, you just need to take the time to get to know me and get to know him.
