I used to work at Pandora & customers always make the same mistakes – stop ‘cleaning’ your jewellery in baking soda

WITH the festive season right around the corner it’s no secret that many of us will be visiting Pandora to snap up some gifts for our loved ones.

Whether it’s their iconic charms or stunning necklaces, thousands of women across the world will also find the legendary jewellery under the Christmas tree this year.

Elisabeth explained why using baking soda for removing the dust and grime from your charms is actually a bad idea[/caption]

If that happens to be you this December, you may want to keep on reading, as one former employee has spilled the beans on the three mistakes customers always make – and they could destroy the accessories.

The woman, named Elisabeth, worked at the store for three years as the head of visuals and stock ”and did everything you could possibly imagine”.

Offering a helping hand to fellow fashionistas and jewellery lovers, Elisabeth took to TikTok to reveal all the biggest no-nos that could ruin the delicate goods.

Stop sleeping in your bracelets

We get it – it’s been a long day and the last thing you want to deal with is removing all of your jewellery.

But according to the trendy fashion whizz, you should never sleep wearing the legendary silver bracelets around your wrists.

”So whatever you do – if you lay on it [charm], if you’re sleeping on it – it’s going to [shrink] and we’re not gonna be able to get them off your bracelet,” Elisabeth explained in the video.

”We’re gonna have to cut your bracelet and get rid of the charm.”

Ditch the viral baking soda hack

If you keep up to date with the latest hacks you may have spotted one doing the rounds where people blitz their grubby charm bracelets using a mixture of boiling water, baking soda and salt.

The cleaning hack may seem pretty easy, worthwhile and time-effective, only taking up a mere five minutes to give your old jewellery a brand new look on the cheap.

But as warned by Elisabeth, this is another major no-no to best steer clear of.

Instead of potentially destroying your accessories with no return, the former employee advised to best use regular washing-up liquid.

”If it’s really bad, let it soak and use an old toothbrush.”

Previously another expert urged to avoid this hack by all means.

“Even just using boiling water can be a risky choice as this may encourage your gems or stones to dislodge as the heat melts the bonding glue keeping them securely in place,” explained Sarah Rowlands who works at Pandora.

“Another popular idea you should give a miss is using an old toothbrush to scrape away the dirt that accumulates in the intricate gaps of your jewellery.

“Again, this is much too harsh for your precious metals, and, not to mention, spreads bacteria from the old toothbrush to your jewellery.”

Everything you need to know about Superdrug jewellery...

FASHION expert Abby McHale has shared her thoughts on Superdrug jewellery...

Who would have thought the shop where you pick up all your beauty needs is also the place to go for jewellery.
Well Superdrug actually has a rather large jewellery section.
Online there are over 150 pieces to choose from and the best part is, most pieces are under £10.
You can even pick yourself up the likes of a watch for £9.99 – bargain.
Or you can stay bang on trend with tone drop earrings, chunky rings and layered necklaces.
So next time you run out of mascara and head into Superdrug take a look at its jewellery range as I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Get a safety chain

Listing her top tips on the platform, Elisabeth also urged people to get clips and a safety chain for your bracelet.

Although you may not like the look of the clips, the ex-staff member demonstrated what could potentially happen if you skip this step.

”You see the little threading that’s underneath the clips that the clips latch onto? The more your charms slide over and over, and over again, it’s going to ruin the charm and it’s gonna ruin the bracelet.

”So again, we’re gonna have to cut your bracelet.

”Save your bracelets in the long run – it’s an investment you’re making.”

I tried Kate Middleton’s diet – I hated the ‘pond water’ algae smoothie, but her ‘naughty’ treat surprised me

BEING a member of the royal family has its perks, from glittering balls to talented chefs at your disposal.

Princess Kate is said to be a keen chef herself and likes preparing meals for her family – but what does she consume on a daily basis?

a woman wearing a blue jacket and a white shirt smiles

We ate like Princess Kate for a day and it was extremely healthy – bar dessert[/caption]

The royal mum-of-three has spoken about her love for open water swimming and sports, so it’s no surprise that her diet is very healthy too.

Her daily meals are packed with fresh fruit and vegetables – which has no doubt been a focus with her chemotherapy treatment this year.

However, she is said to allow herself one very British popular treat for dessert from time to time.

Whatever she consumes is clearly working for her, and she is always glowing during public engagements.

Fabulous decided to try to eat like the Princess of Wales for a day to see if we should switch our diet to become more fit for royalty…

Breakfast

We started the day with Kate’s favourite algae smoothie[/caption]
a woman sitting at a table holding a glass of green juice

I wasn’t a fan of the healthy drink at all – but it is extremely healthy[/caption]

Forget a fry up, Princess Kate is said to start her day with a healthy green smoothie, similarly to her sister-in-law Meghan Markle.

The Princess of Wales adds kale, spirulina (a type of algae), romaine, matcha (green tea leaves), spinach, coriander leaves, and blueberries to a blender, according to the MailOnline.

Spirulina is particularly key to making your skin glow, as it gently detoxifies and encourages cell renewal from inside the body for a bright complexion.

The drink is no doubt the secret to her glowing skin… but is an algae extract drink actually nice?

After sourcing spirulina in my local The Source shop, I whipped up the drink and my first reaction was that it looked remarkably similar to pond water.

However, the taste wasn’t *as* bad as it looked, but still wasn’t something I’d crave every day, and I certainly wouldn’t describe it as delicious.

For me it needed something to sweeten it up and I improved the taste to finish my glass with a few squirts of agave nectar.

A dash of lemon I could just about tolerate downing the glass, but I won’t be rushing to add that to my daily menu.

Next time I may try another breakfast Kate is said to enjoy; oatmeal.

Lunch

Lunch was Kate’s go-to watermelon salad[/caption]
a woman in a red sweater is eating a salad with a fork

This was much more appealing and I’d eat it again[/caption]

Kate Middleton's go-to watermelon salad ingredients

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 304 g watermelon, diced
  • 10 mint leaves, chopped
  • 37.5 g vegan feta
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt, to taste

I had higher hopes for lunch, which for Kate is often a watermelon and vegan feta salad.

Despite the fact it is now autumn and chillier, it seemed a more appealing option than the smoothie.

This was also quick to make, and took no longer than 10 minutes to prepare – ideal for busy mum Kate looking after Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

After chopping the watermelon, avocado and feta, I added in the leaves and oil to make a tasty-looking and colourful bowl.

I wolfed down the portion in no time at all given it was so yummy, but my only criticism is I felt a bit hungry afterwards and knew I’d be reaching for Kate’s go-to snacks.

Snacks

a bowl of blueberries next to a bowl of popcorn
SUPPLIED
We know that Kate loves to snack on olives or popcorn – so I tried both[/caption]

Typically Kate munches on healthy snacks such as raw fruit and vegetables, and is said to be a fan of goji berries.

However, she also told kids at Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2018: “I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well.”

We’ve seen the Princess of Wales also tucking into popcorn when she wants something between meals.

One example of this was during the royal tour of Canada and the USA in 2014, where she watched a basketball game in New York with Prince William and they shared a box together.

Dinner

Kate typically eats curries, pasta or chicken for dinner – so I made a korma[/caption]

Princess Kate said that she makes cheesy pasta with her kids too[/caption]

Princess Kate likes to switch things up for her dinner, but still has some firm favourite dishes.

She often likes to whip up a homemade curry for her kids, and even revealed in 2019 that “Charlotte is pretty good with heat”.

However, she did reveal that Prince William “struggles” with spice.

I decided to choose a korma as I’m also not the best with spice and it was a big hit, especially wanting something comforting in the chilly evening.

Other dishes she loves are said to be roast chicken – royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told Vanity Fair in 2012 that it’s Prince William’s favourite – and also pasta.

During a visit to Lavender Primary School it was reported by People: “She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her.

“They made cheesy pasta the other day.

“One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.”

Dessert

a blue bowl filled with a brown liquid on a counter

My favourite part of the day was unsurprisingly the sticky toffee pudding[/caption]

Now to the bit I was really looking forward to… dessert!

Chef Rody Warot told People: “Kate is always discreet and has always complimented the dishes with great kindness.

“For dessert, her favourite is sticky toffee pudding. It’s moist and spongy.”

Kate is said to particularly love the dish at the Old Boot Inn in Stanford Dingley, Berkshire.

I tucked into the classic pudding and no surprises that it turned out to be the highlight of the day.

The beauty product which is 'key to Kate Middleton's glow'

WHEN your schedule is as busy as Kate’s, making the most of your beauty sleep is vital for maintaining glowing skin.

She is known to make her skincare products work overtime when she’s catching Zs by lathering up in elixirs.

Insiders claim that the Beuti Skincare Beauty Sleep Elixir is her go-to, and she keeps a stash of bottles on her nightstand.

The £47 product contains 14 plant-based oils that slow down the enzyme responsible for ageing and prevent the breakdown of collagen, the protein in our skin that stops it from sagging.

Collagen gives skin a plump appearance but starts deteriorating in our mid-20s, so Kate is beating the natural ageing process by delaying how quickly it breaks down.

Conclusion

Aside from the ‘pond water’ smoothie, I was a big fan of Kate’s typical day.

It was healthy, colourful, tasty and I felt good after eating it all instead of bloated or sluggish.

Perhaps the salad would be more inviting as a summer dish, but it was yummy and I’ve never had watermelon in one before.

I’m glad Kate indulges in a treat now and then, and sticky toffee pudding at that.

You really can’t beat a classic, royalty or not.

Prince Harry threw ‘poisonous truth bombs’ at royals thinking he would ‘have time to make up with Charles’, claims pro

PRINCE Harry threw “poisonous truth bombs” at his family thinking he would have a “long time to make up with his dad”, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, has come under fire for criticising his family in his bombshell Spare memoir and explosive Oprah Winfrey interview.

It has been claimed that Harry expected to reconcile with Charles after this public criticism[/caption]

However, according to royal expert Emily Andrews, Prince Harry is seeking out redemption.

She wrote in Woman: “Speaking to sources close to Harry, it’s clear that (his successful monetisation of it aside!) he’s tired of playing a bit part in a narrative of family conflict, and would like nothing more than to recover his reputation and become known, in time, as a serious player in the philanthropic world.”

Insiders have claimed that Prince Harry expected that he could reconcile with King Charles after his public family criticism.

Emily continued: “Yet there’s a theory doing the royal rounds – that Harry threw his truth bombs and vented his spleen to Oprah and Netflix, and (most poisonously of all) in his book, Spare, on the premise that he would have a long time to make up with his dad.”

They claim that Harry thought it would be easier to make a deal with King Charles than William when he is the reigning monarch.

The royal expert pointed out that King Charles’ ongoing cancer treatment may have “changed that potential time frame” and for Harry “there can be no meaningful rehabilitation.”

The insider said that the Duke of Sussex “cashing in on his family’s secrets” in the expectation that he would be welcomed back due his father seeing him as his “darling boy”.

The source shared: “He thought he might have 20 years with his father as the ultimate authority to mend those broken bridges.”

Spare was originally published in 2023 and launched attacks on the Royal Family.

Harry cruelly alleged Prince William knocked him to the floor and ripped his necklace after heated words about Meghan Markle.

The dad-of-two also recalled how he begged his father not to marry Camilla and feared she would be a “wicked stepmother” figure.

Meanwhile, speaking about his mother Diana’s death when he was 12-years-old, the duke claimed Charles didn’t even give him a hug.

Harry’s Christmas plans

This comes as Prince Harry has reportedly not been invited to spend Christmas at Sandringham with the rest of the royal family.

The Duke of Sussex last spent the festive period with his family six years ago, and has only done two with wife Meghan Markle.

Typically the royal family flock to Sandringham for the Christmas period and attend church together on Christmas day.

Prince Harry and Meghan have spent a total of two Christmases together with the extended royal family for the traditional celebrations.

The first was in 2017 when they were an engaged couple, and the second was in 2018 following their royal wedding.

Yet there’s a theory doing the royal rounds – that Harry threw his truth bombs and vented his spleen to Oprah and Netflix, and (most poisonously of all) in his book, Spare, on the premise that he would have a long time to make up with his dad

Emily Andrewsroyal expert

They spent Christmas privately in 2019 on Vancouver Island, just before they announced they were stepping down as senior royals in 2020.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly been extended an invite to spend Christmas with Harry’s uncle Charles Spencer at Althorp House in Northamptonshire.

However, they would be missing out on seeing their extended family.

A timeline of Prince Harry's family feud

The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.

Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.

He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.

The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.

Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.

The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.

Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.

The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.

The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.

Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.

The move further increased rumours of a fallout.

Harry also hinted in his ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.

In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.

Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.

In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between the brothers.

Harry claimed his brother “knocked him to the floor” during an argument about Meghan, in his memoir.

In Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row.

Harry alleged William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor”.

He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.

In January this year, Harry flew in to be with Charles after the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.

Harry flew back to the US the following day – without seeing Wills.

In May he visited the UK for a three-day visit without seeing King Charles or Prince William.

I went viral for sleeping with 101 men in a day – trolls say I have no shame but I’m aiming to reach 1000 in 24 hours

A WOMAN who slept with 101 men in one day has set her sights on a new goal.

She revealed that she plans to reach 1000 sexual partners in just 24 hours.

TikTok user Lillian Phillips slept with 101 men in one day and has now set herself a new challenge[/caption]

In her viral video, TikTok user Lillian Phillips (@lillian.phillipss) explained the “logistics” of the set-up to her followers.

The self-described “mattress actress” referred to her day with 101 men as a “warm up” for her next target, 1,000 men.

While she plans to complete the 24 challenge in February, Lillian reflected on how she could make the day more efficient.

She revealed that she had 500 applications from men hoping to feature in her 101 challenge, which she filmed.

The content creator and her team narrowed the applicants down to 200, ensuring they had back-ups if people dropped out.

On the day, Lillian began at 9:00 AM and ended up running four hours over, eventually finishing at 11:00 PM.

She explained that she booked 15 people each hour, initially offered five minute slots for one-on-ones, which she then cut down to two minutes when they began to run behind schedule.

Lillian also said that she prioritised group bookings as it meant “you’re getting your numbers up a lot quicker.”

“I think that was one thing I really struggled with, telling people no, saying: ‘I’m so sorry but your time is up, I’ve got to go on to the next guy,'” she explained.

Despite this issue, she said the organisation of the day occurred in a “very orderly fashion.”

She employed a security guard at the door to check IDs as well as four staff members to ensure the men in the waiting room had everything they needed.

Lillian said she only left the bedroom once during the 14 hour day, to have a quick shower.

Reflecting on how she felt after the day was over, the TikToker said she felt confident in reaching her nexgt goal.

“I wasn’t even sore down there, obviously a little bit sore but I could stand. I feel like I was made for this,” she said.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on her challenge in the comments section.

Dealing with sex addiction

IF you, or someone you know, is dealing with a sex addiction, here's everything you need to know...

Seek Professional Help: Consulting a therapist who specialises in sexual addiction can be very beneficial. Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic approaches can help address underlying issues and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Join Support Groups: Connecting with others who are experiencing similar challenges can provide support and understanding. Groups such as Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) offer a safe space to share experiences and gain insights.

Set Boundaries: Establish clear boundaries to avoid triggers and situations that may lead to addictive behaviours. This might include limiting internet usage, avoiding certain places, or ending unhealthy relationships.

Develop Healthy Habits: Engage in activities that promote well-being and fulfilment, such as exercise, hobbies, or volunteering. These can help redirect energy towards positive outlets.

Mindfulness and Stress Management: Practices such as mindfulness, meditation, and yoga can help manage stress and reduce the urge to engage in addictive behaviours.

Education: Learning about sex addiction can help you understand your condition better and recognise patterns and triggers. Knowledge is a powerful tool in managing addiction.

Accountability: Having a trusted friend or sponsor to check in with can provide accountability and support. This person can help you stay on track with your recovery goals.

Avoid Isolation: Isolation can exacerbate addictive behaviours. Try to maintain social connections and seek out healthy relationships that offer support and companionship.

Set Realistic Goals: Recovery is a journey and setting small, achievable goals can help you stay motivated and track your progress.

Medication: In some cases, medication may be prescribed to help manage symptoms of sex addiction, particularly if there are co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression or anxiety.

“Waiting in a line for hours is wild,” wrote one viewer.

“Aside from morality and all of that, I’m just too lazy, can’t imagine doing that in one day,” said another commenter.

“I don’t even know what to say anymore,” commented a third person.

“I feel like that would just be so painful after the first hour,” said another TikTok user.

“We are actually living in a dystopian reality,” wrote one confused viewer.

Kerry Katona splits from fiance Ryan Mahoney after six years as she confirms rocky romance is over

But the former Atomic Kitten singer and the personal trainer sparked split rumours earlier this year when she moved in with her mum,

Kerry also revealed in July that they had cancelled their plans to tie the knot in Las Vegas.

The star had remained quiet on her love life in recent months, but she has now broken her silence on the relationship.

Kerry spoke out while visting her sick mum Sue in hospital, after Sue was rushed to A&E with blood clots found in her lungs.

Kerry shared an update on Sue with her followers this week, telling them the doctor had been to visit Sue on the ward.

One fan cracked a joke in the comments on Instagram, writing: “So much love to you both, and is the Dr single?”

Kerry typed back to the fan: “No, but I am!”

The Sun has contacted Kerry’s representative for comment.

It comes as mum-of-five Kerry opened up about plans to marry Ryan, but later revealed she felt “unsupported” by her younger fiancé.

She said her eldest daughters Lilly-Sue and Molly – who she shares with ex-husband Brian McFadden – insisted they wanted to be there, and so the Las Vegas wedding was off.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Kerry said: “Ryan and I were looking to go to Vegas to finally get married but Molly and Lilly said, ‘Don’t you dare do that without us’.

“I told them they’d already been at too many of my weddings! That put those plans on the backburner.”

Kerry later had surgery on her nose after years of drug abuse left her at risk of it collapsing.

The gruelling operation saw surgeons take a piece of her rib to rebuild her nose.

Following the operation she confessed to feeling “unsupported” by Ryan.

Writing in her column for new! magazine, she said: “I want to say a massive thank you to my mum, who has been my rock during the last couple of weeks.

“I’ve been staying at hers and she’s really looked after me.

“If I’m honest, I’ve felt more lonely than ever during my recovery. Ryan was away getting a tattoo in London when I went into hospital and I haven’t seen him since my surgery over a week ago.

“That upset me, because it made me feel unsupported and I could have done with the emotional support.

“I’m always the ‘strong mum’ in our house and this week I really wanted to be looked after and have him here, but I had my mum instead.”

Ryan got down in on one knee on holiday in Spain while celebrating Kerry’s 40th birthday.

Ryan popped the question after asking Kerry’s five children, Molly, Lilly, Heidi, Max, and DJ, for their blessing.

I make £360k a year as a model & sugar baby – women judge me but I’m a hustler… men loving splashing their cash on me

CHLOE Amour is used to people judging her.

The 32-year-old is a proud sugar baby raking in £360,000 a year and expects first-class treatment from any budding suitor.

a woman in a white tank top is taking a selfie

She has slammed her critics as “jealous”[/caption]

A sugar baby is someone who receives money and gifts in exchange for companionship from (typically) an older, wealthier person – known as a sugar daddy or sugar mummy.

However, the practice is controversial as some critics believe it blurs the lines between consensual relationships and transactional exchanges – and can potentially put young women at risk.

Chloe claims that her contentious lifestyle means she faces harsh criticism from other women who pity the “lovelorn men” that spend their wages on her.

Her response? “They’re jealous, plain and simple.”

“It’s not my fault that your boyfriend isn’t as generous,” she adds.

The influencer has previously shared details of her “sugar daddies” spoiling her with lavish gifts, taking her to five star restaurants and even paying her rent.

She also tops up her earnings through content creator work and modelling.

“People judge me for having sugar daddies all the time,” she says.

“They feel sorry for the lovelorn rich guys who spend their life’s earnings on me.

“I don’t get why people care so much.

“These men get exactly what they want: my attention.

“They are also loaded and will hardly miss the money they spend on me.

“In truth, I’m a career hustler.”

Chloe says she is from “humble beginnings” and uses her unconventional line of work to better her life.

What is a sugar daddy and how does the relationship work?

A sugar daddy is a generous older man who spends lavishly on his mistress, girlfriend or boyfriend.

He’s often a businessman, who considers himself too busy for conventional dating – and isn’t short of a few bob.

A sugar baby, meanwhile, is normally an attractive younger woman who can’t afford her luxury lifestyle.

The couple will usually establish a financial agreement early on – as well as their boundaries, such as whether or not they’re considering a sexual relationship.

Some sugar babies ask for a monthly allowance, while other get ‘expenses’ in the form of glam holidays and shopping sprees.

While a growing number of sugar babies are university students, who turn to their ‘daddy’ to pay their fees.

“My work is exhausting,” she adds.

“I spend over eight hours every day shooting content or working on my computer and chatting to fans.

“It’s extremely important to be independent and have control of my own life.

“ I make my own money – a lot of it – but I still deserve to be spoiled.

It’s not my fault that your boyfriend isn’t as generous

Chloe Amour

“I would never split a restaurant bill or pay for a date, that’s their job.”

Although Chloe makes more than enough money to look after herself, she wouldn’t mind being a housewife in the future.

But, to her, this isn’t someone who cooks or cleans.

She said: “I’m totally supportive of rich housewives; I find them very inspiring.

“I wouldn’t mind being one in the future but I’ll hire a cleaner for house chores, you’ll never see me scrubbing floors.

“Right now, I don’t want or need a ring on my finger.

“But if I do get married, it will be to a permanent sugar daddy who will look after my every need – romantically and financially.”

Major UK airport reveals £300million renovation plans – with hopes to launch more transatlantic flights

A MAJOR airport has revealed its multi-million-pound renovation project, which will see more long-haul routes introduced.

Birmingham Airport will make huge changes over the next nine years in a bid to serve more than 18 million passengers by 2033.

Birmingham Airport hopes to increase passenger numbers in the next nine years[/caption]

The Solihull-based airport already serves 12 million passengers a year, with direct flights to 144 destinations.

According to TTG Media, Birmingham Airport bosses plan to reach its new passenger target by launching flights to a host of new destinations.

New flights will reportedly serve long-haul destinations like New York, Toronto, Mumbai and Hong Kong.

A direct service from Birmingham Airport to New York used to operate until United Airlines suspended the route in 2017.

TUI is the only airline that currently flies a direct route from Birmingham Airport to America, with services landing in Orlando.

Meanwhile, Birmingham Airport stopped flying to Hong Kong, following the closure of Kai Tak Airport in 1998.

Airport bosses hope to introduce several new European routes to destinations like Stuttgart, Oslo and Hamburg.

Earlier this week, Brussels Airlines restarted its flights from Birmingham Airport after operations were suspended earlier this year.

Given the push to increase its passenger capacity, a new street food restaurant called Chaiiwala opened at the airport earlier this year.

Another new dining option is set to open in December, with more restaurants slated to open next year.

Part of the £300million upgrade includes the new security scanners, which were installed at the airport earlier this year.

The new CT scanners eliminate the need to remove liquids or electronics from hand luggage – although passengers need to stick to 100ml liquid restrictions.

Two new security lanes are slated to open at the airport next year.

The huge multi-million-pound renovation project is running parallel to Birmingham Airport’s goal to be a net zero carbon airport by 2033.

So far, £9.7million has been invested in an on-site solar farm with 12,000 panels.

The new solar farm will provide 20 per cent of the airport’s electrical power, making sure the airport is less reliant on the National Grid.

This solar panel farm hopes to save 1,285 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Additional electric vehicle charging stations are also being installed at the airport as well as energy-efficient lighting.

Meanwhile, several airports in the UK are also undergoing huge revamps to help improve passenger experiences.

One of those places is Bristol Airport where a huge five-year overhaul is set to take place.

The main improvement will be increasing the terminal size, which will increase by 70 per cent.

It follows a record number of people travelling through the airport, welcoming 10million passengers in 12 months for the first time.
