Mandy Dingle’s blackmail hell as Tina Dingle returns with shock demands in Emmerdale – and she’s got a new target
MANDY Dingle is set for a blackmail nightmare in upcoming Emmerdale scenes.
Viewers of the ITV soap have recently seen Mandy (Lisa Riley) be reunited with her long absent cousin Tina (Samantha Power).
Spoilers suggest fan favourite Mandy is set for a difficult time ahead of her.
In scenes yet to air, Sam (James Hooton) is dumbfounded by Tina’s audacity as she continues to reside next door to Wishing Well and maintains her claim on the house.
Meanwhile, Sam’s further distressed upon realising his father Zak’s (Steve Haliwell) will has been taken.
Mandy – having been blackmailed by Tina – reluctantly hands over Zak’s will to keep Vinny’s (Bradley Johnson) parentage a secret.
Tina is secretly his biological mother, although Mandy raised him.
However, Mandy is beyond frustrated when Vinny sticks up for Tina.
The young man protests Tina’s in the village to get to know her family, rather than run off with Zak’s money.
Elsewhere, Tina tries to persuade Sam to sell the house – as a drunken Sam accidentally admits Vinny’s got Liv’s inheritance.
Iconic character Tina returned to the village last month for her dad Zak’s funeral.
New actress Samantha Power took over the role from original star Jacqueline Pirie.
Scottish actress Jacqueline played Tina in her original stint, spanning 1994 to 1996.
Previously, The Sun exclusively revealed she was approached to return – but declined.
A source said: “Jacqueline loved her time on Emmerdale and life as an actress but it was a long time ago and she’s moved on.
“She lives in Canada now and has a new career as a novelist and while she’ll always be fond of the show, a return isn’t something she’s interested in.
“These things happen, people move on and recasts happen all the time.”

Soap operas are staple viewing for many people, but even some of the most famous characters have been played by different actors. Here are some examples from over the years.

- Lauren Branning: Jacqueline Jossa took on the role of Lauren in 2010, succeeding Madeline Duggan who’d played her from 2006 to 2010.
- Johnny Carter: Johnny has been played by three actors since debuting in 2013 – most recently, Charlie Suff has taken on the role.
Viewers were not fully convinced by the recast, however, as one penned: “The original Tina was nothing like this character that has been brought in.
“She had all the Dingle traits but was profound about her ways to get what she wanted. She was not loud or trashy.”
Another added: “When they said familiar face … what they really meant was familiar name with a different face.”

New owner of Peggy’s revealed as Phil Mitchell makes major decision in EastEnders
THE new owner of wine bar Peggy’s will be revealed in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
Owner Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is set to make a decision about the establishment’s future.
Having owned the bar since 2022, the hardman decides to sell the place on.
Phil’s relative Teddy (Roland Manookian) emerges as an interested buyer in scenes yet to air.
Teddy informs of his son Harry (Elijah Holloway) about his plan to buy Peggy’s and become a respectable businessman.
This is to impress Harry’s brother – and Teddy’s younger son – Barney (Lewis Bridgeman).
In the meantime, Teddy tasks Harry with finding out what went on when Barney visited their mum.
However, Harry’s heavy-handed approach leaves Barney even more isolated and Teddy in despair.
Phil’s sister Sam (Kim Medcalf) named the bar after his late mother – following a similar pattern to the owner before him.
The establishment was known as Ruby’s while under the ownership of Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton).
Earlier this year, it was confirmed Ruby will be making a return to the BBC soap.
Could swoop in and reclaim her former business?
In August, Peggy’s had a central role in a major storyline when a terrifying club crush took place.
The incident occurred as customers broke through the queue, leading to a dangerously overcrowded club.
Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine), the manager, struggled to sell tickets for her club night.
She desperately urged her staff to do whatever it took to ensure a “sell-out” night.
However, Penny’s employee and stepsister Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) put extra tickets on the website in a bid to ruin the club night, but with little thought of the consequences.

RUGBY Union’s Autumn Internationals have returned – and there are some cracking ties in store.
Steve Borthwick’s England are facing thrilling clashes at home to New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, as well as Japan.
This year, TNT Sports will be broadcasting ALL of the fixtures for the first time.

Bethany Platt struggles to cope with her stoma in Coronation Street as the Platts face homelessness
BETHANY Platt will be left struggling as she adjusts to life with her stoma in Coronation Street.
Fans of the long-running ITV soap have watched the star in recent weeks survive her near fatal botched surgery.
While Bethany – who is played by Lucy Fallon – was in Turkey working in PR, she decided to go under the knife.
However, the botched liposuction left her fighting for her life and caused irreversible damage to her bowls, leaving her with a stoma bag forever.
Upcoming Coronation Street scenes will see Bethany reluctant to leave the house.
Putting on a brave face, Daniel supports her and accompanies her to her hospital appointments.
She eventually agrees to leave the house with Daniel and go to the Rovers for Paul’s space launch.
However, she’s left mortified when she discovers her stoma has leaked and rushes out.
Later on, Daniel and Bethany make up and share a kiss – but he’s left devastated when she reveals she’s not ready for anything serious yet.
The Platts have already faced a difficult number of weeks, with them facing homelessness.
Gail also left the family worried when she suffered a heart attack in shock scenes.

The surprising detail that makes a woman’s bottom more attractive revealed
THE race for the most amazing ass has really ramped up in recent years, with stars like Kim K and Nicki Minaj leading the booty brigade.
But now scientists finally reckon they’ve discovered what makes the ideal derrière. And it’s not necessarily down to with size.
A team of European scientists has found that, contrary to popular belief, people are not drawn to the classic combo of a tiny waist and a big backside.
Instead, both men and women are most fixated on the butt crack, medically known as the intergluteal cleft.
They reached this conclusion by tracking volunteers’ gaze as they viewed images of women’s backsides from various angles.
The data revealed not only which parts of the buttocks captured the most attention, but also how long they looked at each area.
These findings come amid a surge in demand for bottom-enhancing procedures, like fillers and the risky liquid Brazilian Butt Lift, or BBL.
Liquid BBLs have seen a major increase in demand in recent years, especially in the UK, where up to 11 per cent of the population reportedly received aesthetic treatments in 2023 alone.
For the study, scientists recruited 67 straight folk – of which about 60 per cent were women – and showed them images of seven different female bottoms from various angles.
A high-tech camera tracked where their eyes landed first.
Both men and women focused in on the crack within a second and lingered there the longest, in some cases up to 0.9 seconds.
Meanwhile, the “thigh gap” – the space between the inner thighs -barely got a glance, with eyes darting away in less than 0.2 seconds.
Writing in the journal Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the study authors suggested that our attention to the derriere might just be down to basic biology.
“Biologically, humans may be programmed to notice specific physical attributes that historically signified reproductive fitness,” they wrote.
The researchers noted these findings contradicted past studies, which suggested men are most attracted to a small waist paired with a larger buttock, sported by the likes of Kylie Jenner.
“In numerous studies, this ratio has been highlighted as a key element of female attractiveness from a male perspective, primarily due to its potential associations with reproductive health,” they wrote.
But in contrast, the study found these areas seemed to have no special significance.
“The consistent attention toward the intergluteal cleft across demographics could be of potential significance in the aesthetic perception of buttocks,” they added.
They said the findings hold real-life implications for the future of plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine of the bottom.
“When assessing the buttocks, it is essential to adopt a holistic approach that emphasizes the importance of the intergluteal cleft and the lower sections,” they wrote.
“A deeper dive into aesthetic preferences is pivotal for a holistic understanding of human perceptions of attractive buttocks,” they concluded.
The authors did note their study had several limitations, most obviously that length of gaze does not necessarily equate to how much someone likes something.
The study only included Caucasian and Asian participants, limiting its representation of global beauty standards.
Scientists crack the formula for the ‘perfect breasts’
SCIENTISTS reckon they've discovered what makes the ideal set of knockers.
Perfect boobs are round, full, “moderately sized” and evenly spaced with nipples relatively close together, a study found.
More than 1,000 men and women were shown photos of the chests of 25 patients, aged between 18 and 45, who had sought aesthetic or reconstructive surgery between 2009 and 2019.
They were asked to rate the attractiveness of each pair on a five-point scale.
They found that a projected contour – meaning a rounder and fuller shape – was associated with higher perceived attractiveness.
The five most appealing sets of boobs were round, had upper pole fullness (perkiness and prominent cleavage), and very little ptosis (sagging).
The breasts were also closer together, the distance between the nipples was narrower, and the space from the nipple to the fold under the boob was shorter.
And they were “moderate” in size, estimated to be about a C cup.
Stars reported to wear bras of that size include Jennifer Aniston, Blake Lively and Rita Ora.
Overall, by morphing the top five sets, the optimum boobs measured:
- Sternal notch to nipple – 8.3in (21.1cm)
- Nipple to nipple – 7.6in (19.2cm)
- Base width – 5.3in (13.4cm)
- Nipple to inframammary fold – 2.9in (7.4cm)
- Breast volume – 21in3 (343.7cm3)
The study, published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – Global Open in January, aimed to provide guidance for surgeons – not define universal beauty standards, the authors said.
“As reflected by the findings herein, perceptions and standards of beauty vary widely from individual to individual or across groups of various ages, cultural backgrounds, and gender or sexual identities,” they added.
‘He is everything you need in a human’, say fans after ex-Chelsea star N’Golo Kante’s latest amazing gesture on pitch
N’GOLO KANTE amazed fans with a thoughtful gesture during Al-Ittihad’s clash with Al-Ahli yesterday.
The midfielder, 33, became a terrace favourite during his eight-year Premier League stint with Leicester and then Chelsea.
In 2023 he departed Stamford Bridge, signing for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
While his matches may be less visible to fans in England these days, Kante is still new finding new ways to delight them.
As reported by Ben Jacobs, Al-Ittihad supporters hurled hundreds of flags onto the pitch at yesterday’s game.
During a drinks break, humble Kante decided to tidy up, picking up the flags so that a member of staff did not have to.
A clip of Kante’s simple gesture has since received more than 700,000 views – with plenty of fans also leaving a comment.
One Chelsea supporter wrote: “Sometimes I wish Kante stayed forever. He has everything you need in a human being and footballer.”
While a second gushed: “No matter the football club Kante plays you can never dislike this guy.”
A third swooned: “Should still be at The Bridge.”
