But in a statement, the club announced the game has now been postponed by La Liga.
It read: “Valencia has received confirmation of the postponement of the match of Matchday 12 of La Liga, initially scheduled for this Saturday, November 2.
“[This is] due to the severity of the Dana that has left numerous fatalities and affected people in the province of Valencia.
“At this difficult time, we wish to convey our deepest condolences and our love to the families, friends of the deceased and those affected by this catastrophe that leaves us devastated and that puts football on a secondary.”
The floods have hit areas in the south and east of the country hardest.

Our ‘Grinch’ council has already CANCELLED Christmas – my kids are devastated… we’ve been given no explanation
CHRISTMAS has been cancelled by one “Grinch” council with no apparent explanation, leaving the city’s residents and kids devastated.
Locals in Wollaton, Nottingham were heartbroken to learn that the “beautiful” Christmas at Wollaton event had been cancelled.
The Christmas at Wollaton event has been cancelled[/caption] Previous editions featured extensive light shows and activities[/caption] Sherie Dickinson was gutted by the cancellation[/caption]Nottingham City Council said the decision was made following a “difficult operating year” marred with poor weather causing cancellations.
The event, which started in 2020, had run consecutively for the last four years.
However, last year’s event was plagued by muddy conditions and led to bad reviews online.
For some who live locally, the news of the cancellation has been met with confusion and disappointment.
Sherie Dickinson, 48, a beautician from Wollaton, was gutted the show wouldn’t go ahead.
She described the scrappage as a “real shame” and took aim at “cutbacks galore” she claims the council is making which take the “joy out of everything.”
The beautician recalled the beauty of the previous events and felt the event posed no real issues to the surrounding area.
The Christmas at Wollaton event welcomes those from across the Nottingham and the Nottinghamshire region alongside its own residents.
Biliyana Stanislavova, 41, a cleaner from Radford, said she’s “disappointed” to miss the event with her young son.
She was also confused at why Wollaton had “not said anything” about the cancellation.“
While some residents were disappointed to hear the event wouldn’t go ahead, others were relieved.
Wollaton resident Helen Mitchell, 72, said she is not interested in the annual light show and is “happy” the event is not using the park.
She said that the nature and history of the grounds should be conserved.
The pensioner said: “I’ve not been to the event before because I’m a kill joy. In that regard I’m an old misery.
“But I’m not alone with people who have also lived here a very long time. The park should be a park.”
Martin Dixon, 66, from Wollaton was surprised there had been no explanation.
The retiree said: “It’s not my thing but I know a lot of younger ones especially families go. I’m not sure why they would have a break.”
According to online speculation, the cancellation appears to have been confirmed since the start of October.
The light display at the event in 2022[/caption] Some residents have expressed sadness the show will not return this year[/caption] Danny Searle labelled the decision a shame[/caption]Danny Searle, 62, and India Searle, 30, who recently moved to Wollaton, were disappointed they’d miss out this year.
Danny described the “shame” of losing an event that brings the “community together.”
A statement from Nottingham City Council said: “The illuminated light trail that has taken place at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park annually since 2020 is taking a break in 2024.
“Event organisers Kilimanjaro have regretfully made this decision following a difficult operating year due to inclement weather conditions resulting in cancellations.
“They will be working hard to reinvigorate the event in a way that overcomes these hurdles in future years.
“For the last four years, the light trail has brought festive joy to 400,000 guests with a sparkling route around the grounds of Wollaton Hall, showcasing unique light installations and spectacles.
“Nottingham City Council hopes that Wollaton’s Christmas light trail will return for 2025.”

AUDLEY HARRISON announced he is back in boxing.
Harrison became Team GB’s first Olympic boxing champion since 1968 when he returned from Sydney in 2000 with the gold.
Audley Harrison announced he is back in boxing as a manager[/caption] David Haye knocked out Harrison in 2010[/caption]But he could not recreate the same success in the professional ranks, infamously losing by third-round knockout to David Haye in 2010.
Harrison retired in 2013 but has now revealed plans to return as a manager after having his licence approved.
He posted on social media: “I walked away from boxing for many years … partly because I didn’t want to tell my story, as I didn’t want to face my demons of my past, but life doesn’t work like that, so I’m ready to lift the lid, but not now.
“All that knowledge & experience I have hasn’t gone, its been sitting dormant, waiting for me to return to guide that fighter who’s fallen and needs my support to help him rise.
“Ready like Freddy – its’ time to go. Cheers to me.”
Harrison turned pro a year after his Olympic heroics and breezed past his first 19 fights.
But the cracks started to appear after suffering consecutive losses to Danny Williams and then Dominick Guinn.
Williams lost Commonwealth, European and British heavyweight title fights before challenging for Haye’s world heavyweight championship.

The heavyweight boxed six times after defeat to Haye, losing for the final time against future champ Deontay Wilder.
In retirement, Harrison, 53, featured on TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Big Brother and MasterChef while becoming a poker player.

Bizarre moment burglar is caught red-handed CRAWLING through pub and restaurants in clumsy attempt to evade CCTV cameras
WATCH the bizarre moment a burglar is caught red-handed crawling through a pub and restaurant in a clumsy attempt to evade CCTV.
It was only a matter of time before he put stealing from bars behind him, or he’d be put behind bars.
Shamsul Islam, 40, left behind a trail of forensic evidence for police to find as he stole cash from bar and restaurant tills.
Islam, of no fixed abode, began his burglary spree in Bury, Greater Manchester in August and stole thousands of pounds in cash and property after breaking into seven different businesses while creeping about on all fours.
Finally, he was caught red-handed after a restaurant owner received a phone alert that someone was inside his premises at 2.15am and watched the burglary unfold.
Islam disturbed an alarm at the premises and left a small amount of blood after smashing a glass during his frantic escape that helped police identify him.
Described by police as a “career criminal”, he now faces a four-year prison sentence at Minshull Street Crown Court.
As the footage shows, Islam crawled on his stomach and hurdled over countertops to steal cash.
Police Constable William Loughran of GMP’s Bury Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “Islam had absolutely no regard as he broke into small businesses in the Whitefield area of Bury and stole from owners who were rightly shocked when they saw Islam ransacking their livelihoods.
“Islam is a career criminal who had absolutely no right to be so brazenly entering the premises and taking what isn’t his.
“I would like to thank the victims, and everyone in the force that played a part in getting Islam arrested, and those involved in this investigation that has brought Islam to justice, including our Crime Scene Investigators who were able to prove that he was responsible for this spate of offences.”
The burglary spree
This isn’t the first ‘Johnny English’ coded burglary we have seen from Islam.
In a previous burglary, Islam dropped two disposable-cigarettes in a car he’d just stolen a victim’s coat from.
This made it slightly easier for investigators to link the cigarettes back to Islam’s DNA.
Just days after this attack, he gained access to a pub by smashing through the window – but he left empty handed.
An hour later, he was caught on CCTV breaking into another pub.
He broke in through an insecure ground floor window and footage showed him crawling the length of the pub floor all the way to the bar where he removed £200 from the till.
The next night, he was back at it again.
But this time, he tried breaking into people’s homes.
A police report states: “He pushed at the front doors and attempted to prise the ground floor windows open with his hands, after failing to gain entry, Islam moves on which shows the importance of ensuring your home is always secure.”
Three days later, Islam smashed through the ground floor window of a hair and beauty salon, while the owner was in there.
A tenant from above the salon heard the commotion and disturbed Islam by shouting “Oi what’s going on” to which Islam replied “sorry Ma’am” and scurried away.
Two days later, Islam returns to the pub he stole the £200 from.
He re-entered through an insecure window, crawled along on the floor, and stole another £200.
Then, he headed to a takeaway where he smashed the ground floor windows and took £200 and a mobile phone valued at at £1200.
But he accidentally left fingerprints and footprints for investigators in return.
This led to the penultimate point when finally provided enough evidence for police to catch him.
His breadcrumb trail ultimately put an end to his burglary spree across Greater Manchester.

Thousands have shared their concerns her 3.6million TikTok followers are largely under 20 – and questioned jungle bosses decision to sign her up for ITV’s family friend show.
