‘Forget what my wife and kids are thinking’ – ‘Selfish’ Mike Tyson admits he’ll put his life on the line vs Jake Paul

ICONIC boxing veteran Mike Tyson doesn’t care if he puts his life in danger for his comeback fight against Jake Paul.

Tyson admits he is selfish about wanting to keep the spark of high-stakes fight competition, not caring about the concerns of his wife or children.

He will face Paul on November 15[/caption]

The ex-undisputed heavyweight champion of the world is confident he will beat YouTuber turned-boxer Paul, claiming he will run scared once the bell goes in Dallas next month.

Fans and medical specialists have expressed concerns about Tyson’s welfare given the 31 age difference with the young and taller and heavier opponent.

But the 58-year-old is willing to put his life on the line: “It ignites me. You know what I mean? It just gives me a life for myself. Forget everybody else even if they wish I lose, it’s about me doing what I want to do.

“Forget what my wife and kids are thinking about just this one moment. Just stick with me and don’t feel sorry for me. Don’t worry about me. That’s all.

“It had nothing to do with my kids. It’s all about me.

“And sometimes I wonder, is that bad? Is that my ego where it’s just the hell I’m going to do, I don’t care what my health risk or anything, and it’s just who I am.

“They knew I was that way before they married me.

They know I was that way when I had them and when they were kids, and I’m just going to always be there. I’m always going to test myself.

“I’m always going to push the envelope. “

Tyson admits his completive nature means he is ready to defy the odds adding that some people may seem him as delusional.

“It’s very scary if you don’t give up on yourself because you could accomplish things you never dreamed you were going to accomplish.

“And when you do something like that, believe it or not, even if it’s in a good perspective, it’s very scary to believe something that you see as a delusion which you made a reality. That’s pretty scary, but it’s good. It’s just scary to know the power of the mind could accomplish anything.”

Asked what to say to fans who have concerns about him fighting Paul, he replied: “Tell them to bet their life on it.“

Tyson, speaking to Fox TV in Texas, declared he has “bad intentions” for Paul admitting the fight will be “not long.”

He smirked: “As soon as I catch him, because he’s going to run like a thief. I don’t see how he’s going to make an exciting fight by running all day.

“He’s supposed to be the young guy. He’s supposed to walk right through me. I’m an old man. He’s going to run all f***ing night.

“You can’t compare me with other people my age because other people at my age haven’t been training as long as being consistent as me. And I’m just a different species for a human being.

“I think it is because I’m very active in what I do. I don’t sit around doing nothing. I’m just very active. I’m very serious in what I do, and I’m just so interested. I can’t wait for this evening to happen.

“I think he believes he’s a young guy. I’m the quasi-retired man child or whatever they may think I am, and he thinks this is going to be an easy touch.

“I’m going to be successful doing it, and it’s easy.“

Tyson taunted Paul to stand toe-to-toe and punched him at the start of the fight, which will be screened on Netflix on November 15.

He added: “He should try it. He’s a younger man. He should be able to handle punches from an old, withering man like me. “

Lewis Hamilton’s team-mate George Russell reveals one F1 driver is against making immediate rule change

GEORGE RUSSELL has revealed that one Formula One driver voted against a major change to the rules.

The driver’s title race took a fresh twist in Mexico as a 20-second penalty for Max Verstappen allowed Lando Norris to close the gap on the Dutchman to just 47 points.

It comes after contrasting penalty’s handed to both Max Verstappen and Lando Norris in the last two grand prix[/caption]

However, the weekend was also significant because it saw race stewards take a new approach to judging racing incidents.

At the US Grand Prix in Austin, Norris had been handed a five-second penalty for going off the track and gaining an advantage when trying to overtake the Red Bull at Turn 12, costing him a podium.

The McLaren driver had argued that he was forced off the road by Verstappen when defending, though the FIA dismissed an appeal from the team.

A meeting involving the pair followed in the next week before the Mexico Grand Prix, with the meeting becoming “lively” as the debate over the rules intensified.

The Mexico race then saw Verstappen defending against Norris again, with the Brit again going off track, before the Red Bull then shoved him off a few turns later to get the position back.

These two moves resulted in Verstappen receiving a 20-second time penalty and resulted in him finishing down in P6, while Norris claimed P2 behind Ferrari race winner and former team-mate Carlos Sainz.

However, the rules were interpreted differently from one weekend to the next.

The current racing guidelines say a driver overtaking on the outside needs to be afforded extra room exiting the corner if the front axle of his car is ahead of that of the inside car at the apex.

But many drivers feel the rule needs to be changed to add a caveat that if the driver defending his position also ends up going off track, they should face some form of penalty.

In an effort to clear up the racing guidelines, drivers have voted on how the rules should be interpreted.

And Russell, who serves as the head of Grand Prix Drivers’ Association said that all drivers bar one have agreed to rectify the rules immediately.

Though the 26-year-old did not name the driver who went against his peers, the Mercedes star said: “I think the stewards are totally on board with what needs to change.

“Our view is, I think the biggest discussion is, they wanted to wait until 2025, so it’s something consistent through this year.

“I would say 19 out of 20 drivers said: ‘Well, if it’s incorrect, make the change today’.

“I’m glad to see those incidents were punished [in Mexico] and I suspect moving forward in Brazil, what we saw today and what we saw last week you won’t be able to get away with.

a list of the f1 's highest paid stars

“You presume [it should be easy to change if everyone agrees], but it sometimes seems more difficult than it has to be when things have to get approved and we’ve got to go to a vote app.

“But as I said, 19 out of 20, we’re all aligned on where it needs to be.”

Russell – who F1 fans may have the chance to dress from next season following a stunning job posting by the Silver Arrows – finished in fifth place behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton in Mexico.

Asked about the incidents of allegedly running another driver off track, Hamilton said: “You shouldn’t be able to come off the brakes and run more speed in and go off the track and still hold your place.”

Three-time champion Verstappen said he has always raced according to the meaning of the rules, and that if they were changed he would drive according to the new meaning of them as well.

F1 2025 grid

Here are the confirmed driver line ups for the F1 2025 season so far:

Red Bull: Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez

Ferrari: Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton

Mercedes: George Russell and Kimi Antonelli

McLaren: Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri

Aston Martin: Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll

Williams: Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz

Sauber: Nico Hulkenberg and TBC

Alpine: Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan

RB: Yuki Tsunoda and TBC

Haas: Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon

However, any new driver guidelines will take time to publish, and a new draft of the rules will not be available for the drivers to consider until the Qatar Grand Prix in December.

Despite Russell claiming 19 out of 20 agree they need rectifying, no official vote has taken place yet.

According to the BBC’s Andrew Benson, drivers previously had no issue with the rules but were instead frustrated by the inconsistent application of them by stewards.

However, now both the written guidelines and their application have come into question.

The final race in a triple header now sees F1 return to Brazil.

Organisers have confirmed a £22million investment has allowed for the entire circuit at Interlagos to be resurfaced as well as the upgrade of a number of hospitality features and building of an access tunnel.

They have also revealed a touching tribute will be paid to Ayrton Senna 30 years on from his death, with Hamilton set to drive his 1990 McLaren car on Saturday evening.

Great Britain’s oldest British lager brewery bought by A-list Hollywood celebs

GREAT Britain’s oldest lager brewery has new co-owners in the shape of two major celebrities.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have grown their Wrexham empire by partnering with a local brewery.

The A-list actors, who also currently own Wrexham Football Club, have teamed up with the Wrexham Lager Beer Co. Ltd.

The brewer has been owned by the Roberts family since 2011, who revived the brand name after production was halted in 2002.

Reynolds and McElhenney said: ““As Co-chairmen of Wrexham AFC we have learned a lot.

“The connection between club and community, the intricacies of the offsides rule and the occasional need for beer – especially after finance meetings.

“Wrexham Lager has a 140-year-old recipe and a storied history and we’re excited to help write its next chapter.”

Wrexham Lager Beer Co Ltd is, it claims, Great Britain’s oldest lager brewery, having been founded in 1882.

The brewer said the latest deal struck with Deadpool actor Reynolds and Always Sunny in Philadelphia star McElhenney represented a landmark moment for the Welsh town of Wrexham and would lead to a ramping up of production.

James Wright, chief executive officer of the Wrexham Lager Beer Co. Ltd, said: “This is a brand with great heritage – the oldest lager brewery in Great Britain, once enjoyed across the world.

“So, to have Rob and Ryan onboard as we embark on international expansion is huge for us.

“They have been doing wonders for the town of Wrexham and strongly share our passion for once again seeing Wrexham Lager enjoyed in all the far-flung corners of the globe.”

Reynolds and McElhenney launched a takeover of Wrexham Football Cub in early 2021 in a deal that shocked the football world.

The team has soared through the footballing leagues since, jumping from the fifth tier National League to third tier League One.

The clubs’ journey is chronicled on the Disney+ series Welcome to Wrexham.

OTHER BEER NEWS

Drinkers have been left fuming after a number of beer manufacturers slashed the alcohol content of their tipples while keeping prices the same.

Asahi has cut the alcohol by volume (ABV) of its Grolsch pilsner from 4% to 3.4% as it looks to cut costs.

Kronenbourg, which recently rebranded to 1664 Bière, has gone from 5% ABV to 4.6%.

Brewer Carlsberg Marston said British punters preferred weaker drinks.

Hophead has also been reduced from 3.8% ABV to 3.4%.

While John Smith’s Extra Smooth has gone down from 3.6% ABV to 3.4%.

The move has become known as “drinkflation”, similar to “shrinkflation”.

The string of moves from brewers comes after the Government brought in a new alcohol duty regime last August.

The change means drinks are now taxed based on strength as opposed to type.

How to save money buying alcohol

Alcohol can be pricey if you’re planning a party or hosting an event but there are ways to cut costs.

It’s always important to drink responsibly, here, Sun Savers Editor Lana Clements share some tips on getting booze for the best price.

Stocking up can mean big savings on drinks, especially if you want to buy wine or fizz.

The big supermarkets regularly offer discounts of 25% when you buy six or more bottles of wine. The promotions typically run in the lead up to occasions such as Bank Holidays, Christmas and Easter.

If you know you are going to need booze later in the year, it can be worth acting when you see offers.

Before buying your preferred drink make sure you shop around to find the best price – you can use a comparison site such as pricerunner.com or trolley.co.uk.

Don’t forget that loyalty cards can unlock better savings so make sure you factor that in too.

If you like your plonk, wine clubs can also be a good way to save money and try new varieties. You’ll usually have to pay a membership fee in return for cheaper price so work out if you will be buying enough to make the one off cost worthwhile.

I’m going on 50 first dates with only rich men – people say it’s not the way to find happiness but why date broke guys?

A SINGLETON has hit back at critics who judge her for limiting her dating pool to wealthy men.

One person told her “It’s def not the way to find happiness” as they encouraged her not to focus on money.

Tilly (@tillytalkz) is steadily growing a following on TikTok with her viral videos of 50 first dates with only rich men.

She got glammed up in an 80s-style outfit after using Hinge to find her sixth man to go on a date with.

Her profile listed that she wanted someone who works in construction, willing to take her shopping, and described herself as a “princess.”

Despite having never been to Chigwell, she opted for it as her location rather than searching for a match in London.

“Men in construction from Essex are usually my type of people, proper lad’s lads and when I say in construction he owns a construction company,” she said.

Tilly was impressed when her date reimbursed the cost of her Uber, which she got to avoid being three hours late travelling by train.

However, the man gave her “the ick” by repeatedly talking about how much money he spends on his daily life.

“He’s really nice and got that large Essex energy but one thing I cannot stand in a man is when he keeps talking about money,” she said.

“How hypocritical for me to say I’m looking for a rich man but you can’t talk about money.”

She confessed that his “flashy” behaviour had left her second guess going on a second date.

Thousands of people watched her video and rushed to the comment section to share their opinions.

Many viewers encouraged Tilly to go on a second date with the man.

“I’m a bit like you and cut off after the first date but my advice is to go on that second date. He might be nervous so give it a chance,” one person said.

“I think you should just tell him, if he was nice and you liked other aspects of him, he probably didn’t realise he was turning you off instead of turning you on haha,” another commented.

Top dating trends of 2025

  1. Swamping: When you find someone you can comfortably share your ‘swamp’ with and let go of the pressure to be anything but your true authentic self.
  2. No-habiting: When you choose to wait longer to move in with your partner because you value your personal space.
  3. Fiscal Attraction: When you won’t settle for less and you’re seeking a match who is financially secure and who you find attractive.
  4. Rejuve-dating: When you cast away the blues and grow from past experiences so you can fully embrace the future of your dating journey.
  5. Thrift-matised: When you like to go on dates but hit that sweet spot between being cheap and frugal. Hidden gems, loyalty cards – these are all your type on paper.
  6. Loud-dating: Cutting to the chase, being open and to the point with what you want so you don’t waste your time.
  7. Marmalading: When you literally put your other half ‘before anything else’, much like Britain’s most beloved bear’s love for marmalade.
  8. Digital Ex-pression: The stage after a break-up when you are done grieving and turn to social media to share how you are healing to confidently get back out on the dating scene.
  9. Fine-wining: Proactively finding people to date who are older than you and who’ve aged just like a fine wine.

Among the excited comments saying Tilly is “living my dream” were also people arguing that she shouldn’t be fixated on wealth.

“I would never get with a rich person after what I’ve experienced. Coercive control plus money is so dangerous. What will he want in return for the crumbs of wealth? Ick all the way,” one person said.

“Why do the guys you date have to have money? It’s def not the way to find happiness!” another wrote.

“Why would I date someone who’s broke?” Tilly hit back.

“Sensible wealthy men don’t get involved with attention seekers. They will make them invisible instantly,” another commenter said.

I’m trolled for wearing Halloween catsuits & Baywatch swimsuits as a mum – but I look sexy & they show off my curves

AS she stops to snap a photo of her six-year-old son at the local pumpkin patch, Carolyn Anderson can hear the jeers from other mums.

“Who wears a sexy catsuit to a pumpkin patch? Leave the dressing up to the kids,” one says within earshot.

“Where’s her jeans and tracksuit?” another asks.

Proud single mum Carolyn, 40, grabs her son Theo Zeus and heads for the tills, but she won’t allow the insults to affect her.

Dressed in a vintage catsuit, that un-zips all the way down, a fur coat from the charity shop and a YSL handbag, she thinks she looks great.

In fact, the mum-of-one considers the ‘mummy moaning’ and snarky comments a badge of honour.

“I don’t care if I’m going to the shops or doing the school run, I love dressing up in the run-up to Halloween,” she tells Fabulous.

“I adore Halloween. It brings out the kid in me and I celebrate hard every October, by dressing up every day.

“I do get a mix of comments from other mums for my sexy Halloween looks –  some love them but others are jealous.

“I am proud of my sexy outfits. And my son loves the fact that I try so hard.”

Carolyn, who’s from Merseyside, grabs her Jane Fonda inspired catsuits and Vivienne Westwood style corset dresses – costing upwards of £620 for the real deal – for 50p from her local charity shop or storage unit sales.

She also has Chanel bags and Pucci scarves she’s picked up the same way – and says she won’t hide her curves or 36DD boobs.

“I don’t dress like an average mum,” she says. “But if you can’t dress up at Halloween, when can you? I am just a fun, happy person who knows what styles suit her body.”

The quiz night host and social media marketer says: “I love wearing catsuits and if that makes me the target of criticism, then I just feel sorry for the trolls.

“I wear the brightest clothes I can find. I love mixing vintage with designer fashion.

“Halloween is a chance to show off my unique style and my love of fashion. It confuses many people, who think I should dress down or in a ‘mumsy uniform’, but I know what suits me.”

Top tips on getting dressed up for Halloween

By Abby McHale, Fabulous’ Deputy Fashion Editor

Halloween is the perfect opportunity to get dressed up, take on a different persona and have fun with your look.

These days, celebrities provide the perfect inspiration for costumes, however, they also have a team of stylists, makeup artists and endless bounds of cash at their disposal.

So how do you make an outfit like theirs work for you?

A lot of stars make their outfits look sexy and your lingerie drawer is the perfect starting point.

You can use anything from a bra, fishnet tights, stockings and suspenders to add to your look, then depending on the look you’re going for add makeup according.

I.e wearing a black bodice and tights, add some red lipstick and dark eyes for a vampy look.

The rest of your wardrobe can be more inspiring than you think too – for example a plain black can be a perfect base for your costume.

If you are however happy to spend a bit of money on your Halloween costume but are running out of time then Amazon is your go too, there are so many costumes to choose from with many sitting under its Prime next day delivery option.

Or if you’re wanting to see what the in store shops have to offer, look to the supermarkets and budget stores such as B&M, Poundland and Primark which are still full of accessories and clothing to fulfil your Halloween wishes.

The School Runway

In the lead up to Halloween, Carolyn will wear bright orange prisoner uniforms, camouflage bodycon catsuits or black skintight vinyl trousers daily on the school run.

“I wore a blue full-length Jane Fonda workout catsuit with pink charity shop leg warmers and pink boots to run errands last week,” she says.

“You should have seen the looks. I really do not care. It is about having fun.

“I like to mix up my vintage fashion with outfits from dance brands, which I find in sales.

“Some people adore my Spook-tober looks. My mates know I love Halloween and cannot wait to see what I wear throughout October.

“People are always gobsmacked at how I have turned vintage fashion into Halloween looks for daily life. People don’t immediately think vintage is something you wear at Halloween.”

Among Carolyn’s jaw-dropping looks is a bright green, you guessed it, catsuit, she wears with lime green striped trainers and a vintage scarf.

It was not a typical mum outfit, it showed off my curves. I felt sexy.

Carolyn

She says: “I call it my sexy Shrek look.”

While at a Halloween party last year, she wore a body-skimming suit which she painted like a skeleton.

“I had make-up done to match,” she says.

Young At Heart

“It was not a typical mum outfit, it showed off my curves. I felt sexy and it was my most unusual outfit to date.

“Once women hit 40, they worry they’re ‘past it’ when it comes to dressing up and fear how they’ll be judged. Not me, I treat every day in October as if it’s Halloween.

“Kim Kardashian and her sisters wear catsuits all the time – and they’re in their 40s. I want to inspire other mums to do the same.

“They push you out in the right places and hide any flabby or floppy bits you might have.

“I encourage mums to  embrace their inner child at Halloween. I have helped some mums find the guts to wear catsuits.”

Carolyn says part of the reason she pulls off her daring outfits is because of her youth-defying looks.

“People look at me and think I am in my mid-twenties,” she says.

“My blonde hair, fun attitude and makeup often gets me mistaken for a 25-year-old. The fact I am 40 shocks people. But I will never bow to pressure to ‘dress my age’.

“I refuse to wear what other people want me to. I look young because I refuse to be boring and turn into a ‘greige’ mum or dad. It suits some people’s skin tones, which is fine. It just does not suit me.

“Halloween is my time to cut loose. Why own a bright pumpkin outfit or black goth boots unless you can wear them to the supermarket in the lead up to Halloween?

“I love my iconic fashion looks. I refuse to dress down. It shows Theo Zeus I have pride in my clothes and will not let other people define me.”

Seeing Double

In 2010, Carolyn took her love of dressing up to new heights when she was cast as a Pamela Anderson lookalike.

“Friends and even my dad told me I looked like her,” she said.

“Baywatch was a huge hit, and my agent  got me bookings as a Pammy double. I loved it. She’s an icon.”

Carolyn flew to LA and across Europe doing lookalike appearances.

“I got to see how designers used costumes and themes on the catwalk, and I incorporated that into my Halloween style,” she says.

“I also spent £4,000 on two boob jobs, it’s one of the secrets that helps me look so great.”

Carolyn spends £1,500 a year on Botox and filler, as well as twice yearly chemical peels.

“I work hard to keep my twenty-something looks. I believe in positive maintenance,” she says.

“I know I look good so I don’t care what other people think. I don’t criticise what anyone else wears. My style and positive attitude are what keep me young.”

Carolyn considers herself a “later in life” mum.

She says: “I fell pregnant with Theo Zeus when I was 34 years old.

“My style was already firmly established. I vowed to not let myself become a boring fashion victim mum after I had my baby. What’s the fun in all that?

“I was not going to follow the ‘mum herd’ and dress down just because I had a child. I simply adapted my wardrobe. Halloween is my chance to let my true style loose.”

Prepped & Ready

Carolyn gets up at 6am to spend “a good 90 minutes” getting ready every morning before the school run.

As well as a daily blow-dry, she makes sure her makeup is on point.

Carolyn shares her outfits on her blog – Scouse Girl in the City.

She says: “If people want to troll me, bring it on. Haters need to realise their words bounce off me. My Halloween style is a celebration of vintage outfits, modern taste and glam mum looks.

“More people should try enjoying Halloween  and embracing the magic. It’s not as scary as you might think.

“Halloween isn’t just for kids.”
