Roy Keane left ‘blushing’ in incredible reaction to Italy legend walking in wearing his shirt

ROY KEANE has been left speechless after former rival Giorgio Chiellini picked his shirt over Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Italian legend gatecrashed a recent recording of Sky’s new show The Overlap on Tour.

Keane was joined by fellow analysts Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Jamie Carragher for the recording.

Seated in a restaurant, the quartet were left shocked as former Juventus centre-back Chiellini made a shock entrance.

The 40-year-old strode into camera shot wearing a vintage Manchester United strip.

Neville gasped: “You look great in that kit!”

A visibly stunned Keane agreed: “It suits you.”

The former Juve centre-half spun around to reveal the strip had Keane’s name and number on the back.

Chiellini explained: “I was at an event of classic shirts and they ask me ‘Okay, pick one.’

“I look for the first one. It was not Ronaldo, it was not Messi.

“I said I want Manchester United and Roy Keane.”

One fan laughed in response to the clip on X: “Chiellini got Roy Keane blushing so hard.”

Another said: “Keano! Greatest ever CM in prem history.”

While a third added: “That’s brilliant. Chiellini is a class act.”

And a fourth quipped: “When you see Keane smiling, you are already more blessed like when you see 20 unicorns.”

Chiellini later joked he almost left Juventus to “join Sunderland” when Keane was manager of the Black Cats in 2006.

Keane laughed in response: “You would have loved it!”

Ruben Amorim is ‘Mourinho 2.0’ who turned Sporting from ‘walking dead’ into Portuguese champs… he can revive Man Utd

WHEN Ruben Amorim took charge of Sporting Lisbon in March 2020, one club official compared their situation to the “walking dead”, writes Jordan Davies.

Optimism and hope was at an all-time low.

But the Amorim-effect was almost instantaneous, guiding the Portuguese sleeping giants to their first league title for 19 years in 2020/21, losing just once and only conceding 20 goals.

Since then, Sporting have lifted another league title in 2023/24 – as well as two League Cups – and currently sit top with nine wins from nine this term.

He may be young, but Amorim already has an eye for rebuilding and revitalising fallen super powers with his infectious charisma and intense tactical philosophy that hardly ever wavers.

The “walking dead” at Manchester United must be praying for a similar sort of revival.

And they may just get it from one of the most talented young coaches on the continent – a man accustomed to breathing new life back into crumbling institutions such as Old Trafford.

Amorim has spent the last decade dreaming of one day gracing England’s Premier League, such was his admiration for an ex-United boss in Jose Mourinho growing up.

Often nicknamed ‘Mourinho 2.0’, Amorim spent a week with his coaching idol in an internship capacity at United’s Carrington training base in 2018, going on to cite him as his “reference point”.

United should not be expecting a mini-Mourinho, as Amorim said himself: “Mourinho is one of a kind. There won’t be another Mourinho. Mourinho is unique.”

And yet, you cannot help but compare the two.

For all the mismanagement in the Old Trafford hot seats over the years, this would be a real get – finally a slap in the face United’s Prem rivals have no answer for.

Chiellini is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs of his generation.

He started his career at Livorno, before joining Juve in 2004.

The Italian would go on to play over 400 times for the Old Lady, winning nine Serie A titles.

Chiellini earned over 100 caps for Italy during his 23-year career, wining the Euros in 2020.

He finally hung up his boots last year at the age of 39 after a season in the MLS with Los Angeles FC.

Call of Duty tops Steam charts despite surge of Game Pass players thanks to best game in years

CALL of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 caused controversy as people complained that it didn’t offer anything new to the series.

After reusing old maps, and not changing up the gameplay in a significant way, people felt like it was a soulless cash grab.

The campaign is also more in depth than it has been in years[/caption]

It has even out sold the Steam Deck, which usually tops the charts[/caption]

However, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has turned the tide, and people are praising it as the best game the series has seen in years.

With an in-depth campaign full of tactical battles and stealthy puzzle-solving, as well as the major changes like omnimovement in the multiplayer, fans are hooked.

A massive change from last year is that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was launched on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on the day of release.

Previously, Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard said that it wouldn’t put Call of Duty games onto a subscription service like Game Pass.

However, following Microsoft’s $69billion purchase of the company, a number of recent Call of Duty titles including Black Ops 6 joined the subscription service.

Analysts believed that Black Ops 6’s inclusion in Game Pass would reduce sales on both Xbox and PC, but it appears that this wasn’t the case.

Black Ops 6 is the current best-selling item on Steam beating popular free to play games like Throne and Liberty and even the company’s popular handheld console the Steam Deck.

Another recent release, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, takes the fourth spot, further showing Call of Duty’s popularity.

Most people buy Call of Duty to play it online consistently until the next entry in the series is released.

It would only take four months to spend more on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions than you would if you purchased the game outright.

Steaming Sales

Call of Duty is often the best-selling game of the year, so it doesn’t surprise us to see that it’s topping the Steam charts.

Analysts believe that its inclusion in Game Pass has driven 3-4million users to the platform, which is a big boon for Microsoft.

However, the fact that people are still choosing to buy the game from Steam, despite the fact that they can get it for ‘free’ with Game Pass is interesting.

It goes to show that people still prefer to own their games rather than rent them via a subscription.

Exact character to spot on new Harry Potter 50p needed to complete rare collection worth up to £90

THE exact character to spot on a new Harry Potter 50p coin has been revealed.

The Royal Mint has launched a new coin celebrating the iconic tale of the young wizard and his friends.

A new Harry Potter coin has been released by The Royal Mint.
CHNAGECHECKER

It follows a collection launched two years ago to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the children’s tale.

At the time, four separate 50p coins were released including Harry Potter himself, Professor Dumbledor, The Hogwarts Express and Hogwarts School.

Earlier this year, another 50p was released featuring Harry, Ron and Hermione trying to capture an enchanted flying key on their way to the Philosopher’s Stone.

But now the Royal Mint has added yet another coin to the collection.

The latest 50p pays homage to Harry Potter‘s time at Hogwarts School.

The reverse of the coin shows the fictional character in a battle with merpeople.

It is currently available to buy from The Royal Mint with prices starting from £12 and going all the way up to £110.

These coins are uncirculated, meaning they are for collectors and you would not receive one as a change in a shop.

In the past, these coins have been highly sought after, with a completed collection with all five coins selling for £91.50 on October 28.

Even a single coin featuring Harry Potter sold for £40 on October 25.

But it is worth remembering that coins are only worth what buyers are willing to pay for them.

Coins featuring characters from children’s books or television are a hit amongst collectors.

For example, the Royal Mint’s 2018 edition of The Snowman coin, which features the iconic image of him flying in the sky, sold for £10.50 this Ocotber.

The 2019 edition, depicting the lovable cartoon as he comes to life, sold for £10.99 this month also.

You may have seen recently The Royal Mint released a 50p coin featuring the Gruffalo to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its books.

The Sun recently rounded up a full list of quirky rare coins that could be worth £356, which you can check out here.

How to spot rare coins and banknotes

Rare coins and notes hiding down the back of your sofa could sell for hundreds of pounds.

If you are lucky enough to find a rare £10 note you might be able to sell it for multiple times its face value.

You can spot rare notes by keeping an eye out for the serial numbers.

These numbers can be found on the side with the Monarch’s face, just under the value £10 in the corner of the note.

Also, if you have a serial number on your note that is quite quirky you could cash in thousands.

For example, one seller bagged £3,600 after spotting a specific serial number relating to the year Jane Austen was born on one of their notes.

You can check if your notes are worth anything on eBay, just tick “completed and sold items” and filter by the highest value.

It will give you an idea of what people are willing to pay for some notes.

But do bear in mind that yours is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

This is also the case for coins, you can determine how rare your coin is by looking a the latest scarcity index.

The next step is to take a look at what has been recently sold on eBay.

Experts from Change Checker recommend looking at “sold listings” to be sure that the coin has sold for the specified amount rather than just been listed.

What are the most rare and valuable coins?

More than 1,000 Ford staff walk out in huge strike TODAY – see full list of locations affected

MORE than 1,000 Ford staff have gone out on strike today in a row over pay, according to the Unite union.

Workers have accused the car giant of “refusing to engage in good faith” after controversial tweaks were made to their contracts.

More than 1,000 Ford workers have gone out on strike today, the union representing them has claimed[/caption]

Ford UK, which operates a number of offices and factories across the country, has been locked in discussions with the union for months.

Its members began what it called “industrial action short of strikes” back in August, but have now opted for a full walkout.

The row centres on the firm’s decision to make administrative staff’s pay 100% performance-related from next year.

There are also disputes over end-of-year pay packages and potential changes to sick pay.

Unite called on the company to give staff a permanent pay rise, but Ford has offered a one-time payment instead, which it called “fair and balanced”.

It is not clear what changes are being made to the sickness policy, but it is understood that the previous arrangement allowed for up to two years of full pay and that the absence rate among workers was around 2%.

Administrative workers will be on strike for 24 hours from this morning.

And managers are continuing their own industrial action over the performance-linking proposal.

Sharon Graham, Unite’s general secretary, said: “The only reason for this is corporate greed.

“The company’s appalling treatment of our members has simply made them more determined to fight against these cruel and unnecessary changes and for a fair pay rise.”

The union said that more than 1,000 of its members would walk out across five sites: Dunton, Stratford, Dagenham, Daventry and Halewood.

But Ford called that number “speculative” and insisted that “core operations” would remain unaffected.

The strike will also not affect Ford dealers, which are independent and use their own staff, the firm said.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Considering the overall competitiveness of our General Salary Roll employee pay and benefits package, the company’s final offer of a 5% total pay increase for 2023/24 is fair and balanced.

“We will continue to engage with Unite and our valued employees and endeavour to resolve the matter.”

It comes after a rival carmaker revealed that it would shut at least three of its factories and lay off tens of thousands of workers.

Moment Trump issues withering put-down of Biden after President called voters ‘garbage’…as Don tells fans ‘forgive him’

DONALD Trump called for his supporters to forgive Joe Biden in a shocking moment after the president called his fans garbage.

The Republican presidential nominee made this surprising remark at his latest rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The moment Florida senator Marco Rubio went on stage to tell Trump and his fans about Biden’s scathing remarks was caught on camera.

“I wasn’t going to say anything but I have breaking news for you Mr President, you may not have heard this,” Rubio said.

“Just moments ago, Joe Biden stated that our supporters are garbage.”

Trump appeared to shake his head as Rubio continued his impassioned defense.

“He’s talking about the border patrol, he’s talking about nurses, he’s talking about teachers,” Rubio said.

“He’s talking about everyday Americans who love their country and want to dream big again and want to support you Mr President.”

Trump responded to these words by reminding his supporters what Hillary Clinton said about them in 2016.

“Remember Hillary? She said deplorable, and then she said irredeemable right but she said deplorable, that didn’t work out,” Trump said.

“Garbage I think is worse right?

“But he doesn’t know. You have to please forgive him.”

The former president then made a bizarre guess about how much Biden likes him.

“These people are terrible, terrible, terrible to say a thing like that,” Trump added.

“But he really doesn’t know. He really honestly, he doesn’t.

“And I’m convinced that he likes me more than he likes Kamala. But that’s a terrible thing.”

These remarks came after Biden was asked about a comment made at a Trump rally on Tuesday about Puerto Rico, during a Zoom call with Voto Latino.

The comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called the US territory a “floating island of garbage,” at the rally in New York City on Sunday.

Biden clapped back at this and said: “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.

“His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it’s un-American.

“It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been.”

Hinchcliffe’s comment has sparked fury from both sides of US politics and has led to accusations of racism.

The comedian made another series of jokes that lent into racial stereotypes.

Trump has since claimed he did not know the comedian and didn’t hear his joke.

Despite this, the Puerto Rican mega pop star Bad Bunny endorsed Kamala Harris.

England 1966 World Cup winner’s son furious at being unable to inherit dad’s medal without paying ‘scandalous’ bill

THE son of one of England’s 1966 World Cup heroes was denied the chance to keep his father’s winners’ medal due to government taxes.

John Charlton, eldest son of Jack Charlton, couldn’t inherit his father’s medal after he passed in 2020 – labelling the reasons behind it as “scandalous”.

The World Cup winners medal and match shirt was valued at a whopping £200,000[/caption]

John, 64, was left the medal by his father, who passed away at the age of 85.

But despite it being just one of two remaining medals from the 1966 World Cup still owned by the families of the winners, John was forced to give it up because of inheritance tax.

The HMRC valued Jack Charlton’s medal and his famous shirt from that day at an incredible £200,000.

Which means, had John kept both of the prized possessions, he would have been slapped with a WHOPPING £80,000 tax bill.

Explaining the fact he had to pass up on the medal, John told The Mirror: “My dad kept his England shirt from the World Cup final. And his World Cup medal should have come to me.

“But the taxman valued them at somewhere between £100k to £200k, so we have left that in possession of my mum.

“The value of it in gold is not a massive amount of money. It is impossible to say how much it would be worth at auction.”

John, who is also the nephew of Sir Bobby Charlton, went on to slam the tax system, adding: “I think the inheritance tax in this country is absolutely scandalous: who can put a value on that medal?

“I think it is only my dad and uncle Bobby who have not sold theirs. I wonder what would happen if I said that I could not afford the tax on it. Would the Government take my dad’s medal from me?”

The medal, which is now kept in a bank safe, won’t be going anywhere soon.

John has vowed to keep it in the family and pass it down every generation to ensure that the piece of footballing history isn’t lost – no matter what the cost.

He added: “I would rather sell my business than sell the medal. It will be passed to my children and hopefully my children’s children.”

Why doesn’t Kevin McGuire wear a poppy?

KEVIN McGuire has come under fire for not wearing a poppy during an appearance on TV.

The journalist made a point of not fastening the iconic symbol of remembrance to his clothing. Here we take a look at his reasons for doing this.

The journalist explained why he won’t wear a poppy[/caption]

On October 29, 2024, Kevin McGuire addressed why he chose not to wear a poppy during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.

The Poppy Appeal launched on October 26, 2024, and as a mark of respect, anyone appearing on television will wear one of the iconic poppies.

But whilst appearing on GMB as part of guest panel, one was noticeably absent from Mark’s shirt, while everyone else was wearing one.

Presenter Charlotte Hawkins quizzed him about why he chose not to wear the mark of respect, and said: “Just before we go, Kevin, viewers have noticed that you’re not wearing a poppy.

“I know this is something we’ve addressed in previous years but would you like to explain your decision, why you don’t wear a poppy?”

Kevin’s response

Kevin then went onto to reveal his decision to not wear a poppy, was purely down to timing.

The journalist explained how people in his family had fought in the war and how members continued to serve in the forces.

He added: “If I wear a poppy, I always make a donation. If I wear a poppy I’ll wear it in the week of Remembrance Sunday, not before.

“That’s what I do, it’s become elongated now and the ‘poppy police‘ every year go around pointing the finger.”

Kevin also revealed how if viewers were to go into their own workplace, most people wouldn’t be wearing a poppy.

He added: “It’s not because they’re disrespectful, it’s that they’ll have a different tradition of when they wear them or if they wear them.”

However, Andrew Pierce, who was also on the programme, condemned Kevin’s decision.

He said: “I disagree. I think you should wear it as early as possible to promote it, to make people aware of it and to pay tribute.

“As early as possible.”

Viewers’ reaction

GMB viewers were quick to share their own thoughts on social media on Kevin not wearing a poppy.

One person said: “Why question if someone has a poppy on or not it’s a personal choice.”

Another commented: “You can’t be asking people why they don’t wear a poppy on live TV. I don’t like that at all!”

Under fire before

This isn’t the first time Kevin has come under fire for not wearing a poppy.

In 2022, he caused a similar stir while appearing on the Jeremy Vine Show.

Kevin decided to shun wearing a poppy on-screen, and fans weren’t happy.

Taking to X/Twitter, one fan questioned: “Why isn’t Kevin Maguire wearing a poppy?”

Another commented: “No surprise to see lefty lowlife Maguire not wearing a poppy.”

A third raged online, writing: “@JeremyVineOn5 Can you ask the Geordie who pretends not to be a Geordie, where his poppy is please.”

As a fourth simply asked: “Why isn’t @Kevin_Maguire wearing a poppy?”

How to donate to the poppy appeal

Following the First World War, the poppy was then adopted as a symbol of remembrance.

Money raised by the Poppy Appeal go towards funding the Royal British Legion’s work in supporting the armed forces community, serving and ex-serving personnel and their families.

Remembrance Day always takes place on November 11.

Though the paper poppies are the most widely recognised, you can also buy poppy badges in silk, felt, sterling silver and many other variations.

Poppies are on sale with a suggested donation of £1, but you’ll also spot volunteers collecting money for the Poppy Appeal on high streets all over the country.

You can make a one-off donation online, set up a regular gift or even leave a sum in your will.

You can donate by calling 0845 845 1945 or by sending a text message.

  • To donate £2 text POPPY2 to 70545
  • To donate £5 text POPPY5 to 70545
  • To donate £10 text POPPY10 to 70545

Texts cost £2, £5, or £10 plus your standard network rate and the appeal receives 100% of your donation.

You can also print off a donation form to send money in the post.

The Royal British Legion hopes to raise £53million this year to help ex-soldiers.

O’Brien’s week in Del Mar has got off to a horror start with Melbourne Cup fav Jan Brueghel being kicked out of the race and Filly & Mare Turf fancy Ylang Ylang also failing a vet test.

But despite ‘Aidan’s Army’ taking to the California track yesterday, the two-day ‘world championships’ is really all about one horse.

Anticipation has been at fever pitch since City Of Troy lit up Southwell a few weeks back with a public workout.

And his trainer has never minced his words when it comes to just how highly he regards this son of Justify.

Punters have been lapping it up too, slamming City Of Troy into singles, multiples and everything else in between.

Paddy Power’s Paul Binfield said there had been ‘unprecedented’ demand in the horse.

So much so that, should he give O’Brien a first win in the race, he would also be their biggest liability to pop in a decade.

He told the Racing Post: “It’s marvellous the race is being shown on ITV as the support we’ve seen for City Of Troy is unprecedented and he’ll be comfortably our biggest ante-post loser of any international race in the last ten years.

“We feel the weight of support and hype has driven him close to the bottom of the range for his possible SP.

“He could return around the 2-1 mark.”

While Coral’s David Stevens added: “City Of Troy’s Classic bid has really captured punters’ imagination and he’s been extremely popular in the context of ante-post betting.

“I don’t think another horse can compare in terms of international ante-post interest and he really is breaking new ground.”

William Hill’s Lee Phelps said a City Of Troy win would cost them millions.

He said: “Saturday night could be pivotal for us at William Hill as City Of Troy goes for Breeders’ Cup Classic glory.

“Aidan O’Brien’s star is already a huge loser for us ante-post, and if he goes in at the weekend, along with some other big European runners, we could be staring down a seven-figure loss.

“City Of Troy has gained tremendous popularity since the Juddmonte International.

“After his Guineas blowout he was a 33-1 shot for the Classic, but ever since we’ve laid him at various prices, and his current odds of 13-8 are still attracting significant attention from bettors.

“This level of ante-post support is rare for an international race. The last horse to attract such strong pre-race interest was Vauban in the Melbourne Cup last year, a race that nearly became a one-horse book.

“City Of Troy is drawing similar enthusiasm this year, with global interest turning him into a leading figure for the Classic.

“Market projections suggest that City Of Troy’s odds will likely stabilise at around 2-1 on Saturday night, though global market activity may influence his final starting price.

“Whatever his SP, we’ll be cheering home the US runners come Saturday night.”

City Of Troy looks to have an ideal draw in stall three – and O’Brien is happy with all the preparation so far.

He said: “I think the draw is a good one, you’d rather be inside than outside.

“The danger when you’re drawn in is if you’re not quick enough they might fall on top of you, because the races here are fierce and the American horses are so quick away.

“We’ve done everything we can do to prepare him for this race. When we were getting ready for the Derby we had to get him to settle and slow down.

“But at the back of our minds we’ve been thinking about this race and knowing we are going to have to rev him up again for this race because you can lose the race at the start if you’re not ready.”
