Spurs vs Man City preview

Ange Postecoglou was raging after defeat to toiling Crystal Palace on Sunday and needs to pick his players – and himself – up for a tough cup tie at home to Manchester City.

Spurs have won their last four at home and seven of their last nine games home and away – their only two losses coming in both of their last two away.

Their issue? They’re coming up against an unbeaten machine in Manchester City, who’ve now moved back to the top of the table.

This ground and this away fixture proved to be a bogey trip for Pep Guardiola’s side, losing five on the spin before winning both of their last two trips here – both in 2024.

Tottenham vs Man City prediction and betting tips

Goals show

There have been 15 goals scored in City’s last four games. Might not sound too many, but that includes Saturday’s 1-0 win.

Spurs’ high line here will be put to the test and with it being a one-off cup tie, someone needs to win.

And you know for a fact both managers will go out to win it. Could be entertaining.

  • Over 4.5 goals at 5/2 with William Hill – CLAIM HERE

City slick

Having said that both will look to win, City come into this favourites.

They’re yet to taste defeat this season and easy to see why.

Won this cup four times on spin from 2018 to 2021 but not since. Will want to set that record straight.

Back our 14/1 Bet Builder

Here’s why we’ve made those selections..

  • Man City to win: Yet to taste defeat this season and record here has improved, particularly in both trips this calendar year. Spurs defeat at weekend a sore one for them, inconsistency issues.
  • Both teams to score: Enough in their attack though, Spurs and can trouble whatever back four Guardiola puts out.
  • Matheus Nunes to score: Scored in previous round and has seen plenty of game time as midfield injuries and struggles continue. Can make mark if given opportunity.

Martine McCutcheon opens up about motherhood in emotional interview and says ‘I was told I’d never have children’

MARTINE McCutcheon has opened up about motherhood in an emotional interview, revealing she was once told she’d “never have children”.

Actress Martine, 48, who shares nine-year-old son, Rafferty, with her estranged husband, Jack McManus, also 48, explained how her journey to becoming a parent had been fraught with struggles.

Recalling the first time she held Rafferty, she said on The Showercast podcast, “The thing that topped everything was holding my son for the first time.

“I was told I would never be able to have children, and I always felt like being a mother would be the making of me.”

Martine reflected on how becoming a mother shifted her perspective, describing the “unconditional” devotion she felt for her child.

She shared, “I knew I would be able to teach him all the things I wish I’d known.

“When I held him, there was no love like it… It made me realise that by just being who I was, I was always enough and lovable.

“I didn’t have to be all those things that I thought I had to be.”

Martine recently revealed the breakdown of her marriage after 18 years.

The Love Actually star told fans that singer-songwriter Jack had decided the pair should separate.

She said at the time: “After much thought and consideration, Jack has decided it’s best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision.”

“We both of course still cherish and look forward to being parents together to our wonderful boy for the rest of our lives.

“Our love for Rafferty is something that will never waver or change and we obviously want to protect him and help him feel as safe and secure as possible.”

But as Jack was seen for the first time without his wedding ring, Martine appeared to take a swipe at her estranged partner.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the star reposted a clip from wellness educator Alex Elle.

In the clip, the author said: “The older I get, the less time I have for people who are unsure about me.

“I need people in my life who are certain. People who want to be there. People who make space for me.”

Resharing the post, Martine added: “I love this lady. @alex_elle soothing, gentle, voice, softly reminding us of our own strength, value, love and true worth.”

Martine McCutcheon and Jack McManus - relationship timeline

MARTINE McCutcheon and husband Jack McManus have split following an 18-year relationship. Here are the details.

Martine McCutcheon revealed her split with husband Jack McManus in an emotional message posted to her Instagram Stories.

It came just weeks after the ex EastEnders actress, 48, told how her love for the singer, 40, was “unconditional” – and how she was looking forward to their “next chapter.”

Jack is a singer-songwriter who went to the famous BRIT School.

The pair met at a live music venue in Piccadilly in the early 2000s.

Speaking about when they first met, Martine previously confessed: “We laid eyes on each other and that was it.”

The former couple tied the knot in 2012 at Lake Como in Italy.

The pair welcomed their son Rafferty in 2015.

On August 22, 2024, Martine announced the break-up on social media.

Trolls say my son’s name is ‘bad but just cruel for a boy’ – they call me ‘selfish’ & even teachers urge me to change it

CHOOSING a name for your child is a massive decision and is one that many parents-to-be will likely spend a lot of time thinking about and deliberating over.

After all, you want your child’s moniker to be one that not only you love, but they do too, right?

A mum-to-be has been savagely slammed by trolls after revealing the name she has chosen for her son[/caption]

But not only did people think the name was too feminine for a boy, but even teachers shared bullying concerns too[/caption]

But one woman has been met with a barrage of negative comments after sharing the unique baby name she has chosen for her unborn son.

Not only did trolls slam the moniker and say that it’s ‘bad regardless but just cruel for a boy’, but even teachers begged her to choose something different.

Many claimed that the young boy would be bullied for the name and called the pregnant woman ‘selfish’ for her choice.

It comes after the young woman took to social media to share the name she has chosen for her baby boy, leaving many open-mouthed.

Posting on ‘That name isn’t a tragedeigh, it’s a murghdyrr’, a private Facebook group with 333,800 members, Tiffany Reneé King, shared the baby name she and her partner have decided on.

Whilst the Facebook page is normally for people to share the ‘tragic’ names they have seen or heard online, in this case, Tiffany was eager to share her own.

The brunette beauty, who is expecting a baby boy due in February 2025 wrote: “I feel like some would say my son’s name belongs here.

“We’re naming him Rayleigh.”

Facebook users were clearly left gobsmacked by the unique name, as Tiffany’s post was shared just five hours ago, but has quickly racked up 427 likes and a jaw-dropping 729 comments.

Many flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on the moniker – with the overwhelming majority totally stunned by the name.

Not only did many warn the mum-to-be about the possibility that her son could get bullied for the moniker, but others claimed that it was too feminine for a boy’s name too.

One person said: “Been a middle school teacher for 20 years and your kid is going to get made fun of. Badly. And it will be your doing.

The struggle of choosing a baby name

CHLOE Morgan, a Senior Writer at Fabulous, has revealed her dilemma on choosing a baby name...

At 35 weeks pregnant, by far the trickiest part of pregnancy for me in the past few months (minus the insomnia and countless night-time wee breaks!) has been trying to decide on a baby name.

The dilemmas are endless…

My partner and I went for a private scan to find out the gender as early as we could – partly due to the fact we thought it would make baby naming so much easier because we’d only have to come up with a list of names for one gender rather than two.

How wrong we were…

I was absolutely thrilled to be told I was expecting the baby girl I’d already dreamed of, but being one of the last of my friends to fall pregnant, I’ve had countless conversations over the years with excited pals discussing their top baby names…something which I wish I could go back in time and un-hear.

With each friend mentioning at least 10 possible monikers, I can’t help but feel like several are now a no-go even though I know it’s something that none of them would mind in the slightest – it’s a total me problem!

The debate comes up time and time again on social media forums – can you choose the same name that was a “potential” for a friend’s baby?

It’s a very divisive topic and opinions are always mixed…and I don’t want to be THAT person.

While some will argue there’s thousands of other names out there to choose from, others will say you need to choose YOUR favourite…after all, there’s no guarantee that person will even have another baby.

Then there’s also the issue of finding a name you adore…only to research it online and read one negative comment amongst hundreds of positives that you just can’t shake off.

I made that very mistake when I fell in love with a certain name (I won’t reveal it because I don’t want to ruin it for others!) …only to see someone point out that it constantly gets autocorrected on a phone to something rather rude instead.

So, back to the drawing board we went..

Just five weeks to go and it looks like our little one is going to be known as ‘baby gal’ for a little while longer!

“If you need to feel original, change your own name, don’t do that to a kid.”

Another added: “As a middle school teacher, I beg you to pick something else!”

This name will not be cute or creative, it will be embarrassing and honestly people might not take him seriously

Reddit user

A third commented: “Please don’t do that. It’s a tragedeigh and also sounds like a female name. Double whammy.”

At the same time, someone else chimed in: “The name is bad, for a boy it’s just cruel.

Are Unique Baby Names Worth The Hassle?

YOU may think having a unique name helps you to stand out, but is it all it's cracked up to be?

Fabulous’ Deputy Editor Josie Griffiths reveals the turmoil she faced with her own name while growing up.

When I was a child, all I wanted was one of those personalised keyrings with my name on it.

But no joy, the closest I could find was Rosie, Joseph (not great for a little girl) and Joanne.

Josie is short for Josephine, which is a French name, and I managed to reach my 20s without ever meeting anyone who shared it.

When I try to introduce myself to people, I get all sorts of random things – like Tracey and Stacey – which can be pretty annoying.

Although I have come into contact with a couple of Josies over the last year – there seems to be a few of us around my age – it’s still a much rarer name than most of my friends have.

On the whole I don’t mind it, at least it’s not rude or crazily spelt.

And it means I can get away with ‘doing a Cheryl’ and just referring to myself as Josie.

I’m getting married this year and some friends are shocked that I’m changing my surname, as it’s not seen as very cool or feminist to do so these days, but I explain to them that I’m not that attached to Griffiths as I’d always just say ‘hi it’s Josie’ when ringing a mate up.

I think it’s nice to be unique and I’ll definitely try and replicate this when naming my own kids.

It’s the rude names you’ve got to watch out for, so after nine years as a lifestyle journalist I’ll definitely be avoiding those.

“Quit being selfish and think about your kid.”

Whilst one user advised: “That is a terrible name regardless but even worse for a boy. Poor kid. Please don’t.”

Not only this, but another user questioned: “This is a joke, right??

“Please consider his future. When he is 35 and at a job interview, this name will not be cute or creative, it will be embarrassing and honestly people might not take him seriously…..Do better for your son.”

Jarrod Bowen joins exclusive club of players to get THREE Premier League managers sacked after penalty cost Ten Hag

JARROD BOWEN has joined an exclusive club after his penalty got Erik ten Hag sacked as Manchester United manager.

West Ham were awarded a controversial spot-kick in the 92nd minute against the Red Devils, which the Irons skipper scored to secure their 2-1 win.

The goal burst Ten Hag’s bubble and he was axed the following morning.

Man Utd are languishing in 14th in the Premier League table after the club’s worst ever start to a season.

If bosses want to keep their jobs, they should avoid conceding to a special list of players that have a knack of getting managers sacked.

Bowen has now scored to register the final hammer blows for three Prem gaffers in their last games before being dismissed.

Bruno Lage at Wolves, Frank Lampard at Everton and now Ten Hag have all been hit by the England star’s curse.

Only seven other players have scored in three different managers’ final matches in charge – Chris Wood, Riyad Mahrez, Sadio Mane, Xherdan Shaqiri, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Salomon Kalou and Darius Vassell.

Only Nottingham Forest striker Wood and Bowen remain in the Prem and can add to their stunning runs.

And they could catch James Ward-Prowse and Andy Cole, whose goals have been the last straw for four and five coaches respectively.

Goals from JWP saw Claudio Ranieri axed at Fulham, Quique Sanchez Flores leave Watford, Chris Wilder sacked by Sheffield United and Antonio Conte get his marching orders at Tottenham.

Strikes from Cole have ended the tenures of David Pleat at Sheffield Wednesday, Attilio Lombardo at Crystal Palace, Jacques Santini at Spurs, Velimir Zajec at Portsmouth and Graeme Souness at Newcastle.

The roles vary from engineering to cabin crew

It is the latest phase in its ongoing work to hire more older workers, after ONS data showed 92 per cent of those who served in both regular, and reserve, UK armed forces are over 45.

The drive comes after a study, commissioned by the airline of 500 veterans, revealed 60 per cent want to see more support to help those transitioning into a civilian job.

Former SAS soldier Andy McNab, who is supporting the recruitment drive and the launch of ‘weServed’ – an online platform designed to help veterans transition into rewarding careers – said: “Every year, some 20,000 people leave the armed services and we know it can be a challenge for veterans to find the right career fit.

“But easyJet has shown it understands the value of their incredible skill sets and can support them with new and rewarding career journeys, thanks to working with weServed.”

The research also found 80 per cent of veterans wanted to take on a new challenge after their service, with travel a top choice for 50 per cent.

With many citing flexibility, visiting new places and skills development opportunities among the top reasons for wanting to join the travel industry.

A third of were also interested in operational roles, and a quarter wanted to work in a customer facing role.

When it comes to skills, attention to detail (25 per cent), teamwork (25 per cent), and security and safety awareness (21 per cent) are the most transferable skills those who have served bring to civilian jobs.

Along with communication (21 per cent) and problem solving (21 per cent).

EasyJet is also working with organisations which help ex-force personnel find new non-military careers such as The Career Transition Partnership.

Rosie Delrosario, a former RAF Military transport driver, who joined the airline’s cabin crew in her late 50’s, said: “I know that veterans who are thinking about joining the civilian workforce may have concerns.

“But I want them to know that it is possible to have a fulfilling career after service and easyJet provides thorough support and understanding to those of us from a military background.”

My husband passed away & I was horrified when I looked at his laptop – he’d been cheating & even told people I was dead

HAVING your spouse pass away at a premature age is a heart breaking situation we all hope will never happen to us.

But that’s exactly what happened to one woman, Cherry, who was devastated when her partner passed away, but she soon found out her dream marriage wasn’t what it seemed.

He’d even bought his girlfriends lavish gifts during their relationship[/caption]

Taking to social media, Cherry found out that her partner had been cheating on her for years, speaking to multiple women.

In the clip, she said she went onto her partner’s laptop after his passing – probably to find old photos and memories of them together.

But when she started digging she was horrified to see multiple messages from women he had contacted, who had turned into online girlfriends.

Cherry was rightfully hurt when she realised her partner’s extramarital affairs – but it got worse when she realised what he’d been saying about her.

Multiple messages showed that he told these women that cherry had died, left him for another man and even that she was in a coma.

“My wife just died I’m a single dad,” read one, another claimed “She left me for another man” while a third read “She was in an accident and she’s in a coma I’m all alone.”

He told other women he was in a loveless marriage as well.

Stunned by the revelation, Cherry decided to do even more digging into her husband’s secret life, and checked his bank statements.

There, she found he had spend thousands of pounds on porn sites and had even sent gifts to his online girlfriends while the pair were together.

Cherry decided to contact one of the women – who said she’d give her all of the information she wanted, for a price, which she declined.

Before slamming the laptop shut, it dawned on her she never really knew him and had more than his passing to get over.

The ordeal happened four years ago and thankfully, Cherry has found peace and remarried and has a child.

The clip posted to her TikTok account @cherrybombsquad007 has since gone viral with over 3 million views and 180k likes.

Four red flags your partner is cheating

Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating.

They start to take their phone everywhere with them

In close relationships, it’s normal to know each other’s passwords and use each other’s phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something.

Aaron says: “If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”

“You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.”

They start telling you less about their day

When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you.

“If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”

“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it’s an easy way to get caught out,” says Aaron.

Their libido changes

Your partner’s libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron.

Aaron says: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating.  You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”

They become negative towards you

Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify.

“To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere.  Maybe you haven’t walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime.  A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating,” warns Aaron.

Another commented: “I can’t imagine losing my husband and then LOSING my husband. I’m sorry for both your losses.”

“You’re the first widow I’ve seen talk about this. I’m widowed and I found some of the same stuff. We need to be friends,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Sped that grieving process right up!!”

“How thoughtful – He was making it easier for you to deal with his passing,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “The way I’d be 5 glasses of wine deep with the Ouija board out.”

Waterloo Road confirms EastEnders legend will be taking over from Jason Manford in new series

WATERLOO Road has confirmed an EastEnders legend is taking over from Jason Manford as the latest series comes to an end.

Viewers of the rebooted school-based BBC drama watched on Tuesday night as his character Steve Savage was arrested.

He had helped cover up the murder of a student, which his son had committed.

Just as comedian Jason bows out after one series, Waterloo Road have now revealed his replacement.

Former EastEnders star Lindsey Coulson will take over for the school’s next term as Head Teacher.

The 64-year-old is best known for her role as Carol Jackson in Albert Square, though left the show in 2015.

The Sun previously revealed how the soap icon had signed up for the drama earlier this year.

She’ll play Dame Stella Drake when Waterloo Road returns to BBC One in 2025.

Her presence will no doubt be felt with her uncompromising worth ethic and nonsense approach.

Stella’s arrival comes after she went viral for her comments on parental incompetence, knocking her off of her pedestal at Ofsted.

Speaking about landing the role, Lindsey said: “I’m delighted to be joining Waterloo Road as the new headteacher, Dame Stella Drake.

“It’s a role I haven’t played before so I’m really enjoying peeling back the layers of who Stella is and seeing how the teachers and students react to her no-nonsense approach.

“Waterloo Road tackles social issues head on which is so important to see on television and this series will be no different.”

For EastEnders fans, Lindsey’s new role has left them fearing she won’t reprise her role for the show’s upcoming 40th anniversary.

Taking to social media, one said: “Oh we’re not getting that Carol return anytime soon are we.”

A second posted: “There goes our Carol Jackson return.”

“AHHH CAN’T WAIT – but omg a mancunian Carol Jackson sounds so weird,” wrote a third.
