THIS is the disgusting moment a massive fountain of sewage rains human waste on helpless passers by.
Stomach-churning social media footage from Russia captures a geyser the size of a tower block lasting for several revolting minutes.
The sewage eruption reached 180ft high[/caption] Several cars were likely impacted by the embarrassing mishap[/caption] The geyser raged on for several minutes[/caption]The foul fountain rained down in the Novaya Moskva district of Moscow, a Russian Telegram channel has reported.
The raw sewage was catapulted 180ft in the air, with several cars close by that likely got hit with the waste.
There are several residential buildings in the clip, suggesting they were covered too, including anyone unlucky enough to be walking past.
This moment shocked many, who were quick to react on social media to the revolting sight.
One X (formerly Twitter) user captioned the moment with: “A sh*t show, literally.”
Anton Gerashchenko, a self-described Ukrainian patriot, posted the video to his 634,000 followers.
The video currently has over 3.7 million views, over 43,000 likes and nearly 10,000 reposts.
Some were quick to make political jabs, with one person quipping: How nice, Putin did this in celebration of the MSG Trump Rally!”
There was sympathy for those who would have to clean up the huge mess, as seen in a comment reading: “Imagine that it all fall down, transported by wind, smell… beurk!!!
“and the technicians are in the trenches at the frontline.”
Other humorous comments followed, with one person saying: “This is one of those moments where I really, really hope Ukraine did do it.
Some claimed that the sewage infrastructure broke down in Moscow.
The user went onto suggest: “Is this the thermal heating system being purged. In our apartment in Craiova the heating is pressurized in October and the water that come out is rusty coloured like this.”
According to Russia‘s state-owned conglomerate Gazprom, a new section of the gas pipeline is being cleaned out of the air in this way.
According to reports, representatives of the corporation said the situation is under control.
Local authorities are reported as working to contain the damage, and minimize helath risks to the public.
Cleanup crews are expected to remain on the site until the sickly incident is fully contained.
This is not the first time this year that the integrity of Russia’s sewage system has been questioned.
In January, when Russian troops discovered gender neutral toilets in Ukraine, Boris Vishnevsky, a member of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly made a cutting remark.
He said that: “a quarter of Russians do not have centralised sewerage,” citing data from Rosstat, Russia’s state statistics service.
Boris added : “And basically, it is hard to imagine something more gender-neutral than a backyard ‘latrine’-style toilet.”
He was responding to St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov’s criticism of the gender neutral toilets, as reported by Newsweek.
