Strictly’s Dr Punam breaks silence after getting the boot from BBC show saying ‘I’m not going to lie there’s much more’

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Dr Punam has broken her silence after getting the boot from the show.

Over the weekend she was forced to dance again as she landed in the dance-off against former Coronation Street star Shayne Ward.

The likes of Gethin Jones and Sara Cox appeared in the audience as they supported their BBC Morning Live colleague.

However, that was not enough as the judges voted to send the former X Factor winner through to the next week.

Since her axe, the television doctor addressed her exit on social media as she wrote a long essay.

Posting a snap of her last Tango with partner Gorka Marquez, she wrote: “She came. She slayed.

“However all good things must come to an end and I love that these are my exit shots. I gave it everything I had. I tried my best.

“I came here with zero dance or performance experience. Worlds away from my NHS GP work and mum life, I lived out a long held dream of being on the most fabulous dance floor on telly.

“I did it. From getting that call to now, it’s been the most exhilarating adventure ever.”

The presenter reflected on how it felt to push herself on the dancefloor and do something completely different from what she was used to.

“Stepping out of your comfort zone, especially as an adult who is set in their ways is scary but what I learnt was that it’s also exciting, it’s invigorating and it teaches you more about yourself than you ever knew before.

“Your potential truly is on the other side of that safe zone…I feel I’ve only just entered that door of potential for me.”

The Strictly Come Dancing competitor revealed that she is devastated to leave the competition, although she is proud of her progress.

“I’m gutted that my journey ends here but greater than that is the pride I feel in myself for trying something new, something as crazy as dancing live in front of millions of people every week!,” she wrote.

“Every week a new challenge, new dance, new look and new characterisation – none of which came naturally to me. However with the help of my wonderful partner @gorka_marquez I found new confidence to give it all a go.

“Whilst this is a dance competition, I discovered more than dance. There’s been so much personal growth and I believe that’s what it’s all about in the end.”

There’s so much more I have to say & I will but for now, I’m going to take a beat and let the feelings flow.

“However tonight I’m not going to lie, I feel very sad. I’ve loved this experience and have had so much fun.

“You all have made me feel so loved, you’ve showed up for me and Gorka every week and supported us – THANK YOU.

“It’s such a warm feeling and I feel very lucky, especially as a huge part of this journey has been allowing myself to feel that love.

She added: “I have made some incredible friends and am taking away nothing but positives with me.

I have made some incredible friends and am taking away nothing but positives with me. I will head back home to my babies and clinic life with a newfound confidence and spring in my step, as I dance my way through to the next chapter. A new chapter where saying yes to new things will no longer be met with trepidation but with courage and excitement. Thank you for being a part of that.

Steven is going back to his roots and hitting the streets of the UK over the festive period.

A Sky spokesman said: “The magic builds to an astonishing climax in which Steven will take the ultimate risk, pushing himself to the limit for a death-defying finale — the miracle to end all miracles.

“Get ready for a show filled with inspiration, wonder, and pure magic.”

In 2023 Steven was seen in Dynamo Is Dead, where he dug his own grave and buried himself alive in a live TV special with A-list assistants Cara Delevingne and Demi Lovato.

He also held candid conversations and his mental wellbeing and his personal struggles, particularly Crohn’s disease, which he’s suffered since he was a teenager.

Steven rose to fame as Dynamo in the Noughties which led to a string of TV shows including series Dynamo: Magician Impossible.

Now he’s starting a whole new chapter in his life and career, returning to his old name of Steven, which he was given when he was born in his native Bradford 41 years ago.

Saving lives

Miracles will see him meet special people who have been nominated by friends and family for their huge achievements such as helping their community, living with a disability or saving lives.

The one-off, 90-minute show will air over the festive period on Sky Max and streaming service NOW, with the exact date announced soon.

Feline like a change

HE’S done everything from comedy to music and documentaries –now David Baddiel is feline like a change.

The comic says he is now planning a show about cats.

Talking on Russell Howard’s Wonderbox podcast, out today, David explained: “I just want to do shows where I will enjoy myself and I can’t think of anything I’d enjoy more than going to meet a lot of cats.

“People who don’t have cats, and I’ve noticed this with this TV show, is they say, ‘Well they don’t do anything, dogs have personalities’. That’s completely wrong. I’ve had loads of cats in my life, I presently have four.

“When I fell in love with Morwenna, my present wife, I gave her a rescue cat called Monkey early on, which is quite strange. I clearly wanted to seal the deal because a cat is not just for Christmas.

“When we put Monkey down I cried more than either of my parents’ deaths.”

Bride labelled an ‘insecure lunatic’ as guest reveals ultra strict wedding dress code rules

MANY brides add a dress code to their wedding invitations to help guests – but one woman has been labelled “insecure” for her dress code demands.

A guest from the wedding took to Reddit to share how the bride had given strict instructions for “no boobs, no legs” to be on show.

Although the wedding was described as the guest as a “formal” celebration, many people have slammed the bride for her “controlling” command.

One wrote: “The bride sounds like an insecure lunatic.”

Another added: “This seems really b****y. Formal means long and weddings mean don’t have massive cleavage, so I wouldn’t like the implication people don’t know how to dress themselves. “If it means ‘extremely high necklines only’ then that’s really an unreasonable request and very controlling.”

A third commented: “I think it’s beyond rude as well. Like, if you got big boobs this is an extremely limiting rule.”

However, one person defended the bride and said they had a right to choose a dress code for their event.

They shared: “The bride did nothing wrong.”

The wedding guest gave further context to the event, which they said was a spring wedding at a winery.

They posted photos of a dress which complied with the dress code at the front, but asked if it was appropriate to wear.

Despite their hesitation, the guest said the bride was happy about the backless element.

People were quick to chime in, and offer advice on the green, long-sleeved, open-backed dress.

One person said: “Ngl I feel like if they say no boobs no legs they’re asking for modest. I wouldn’t get a backless dress, personally.”

However, one wrote: “That’s beautiful! Go for it.”

Fabulous’ fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend said that when it comes to weddings, sheer dresses should be avoided.

She advised: “Teasing a little bit of flesh is fine at a wedding but if you end up plonked next to old Uncle Arthur you’ll regret wearing that revealing sheer look.

Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette

If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble.

  • Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom.
  • Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided.
  • Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream – even if it’s not.
  • Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered.
  • Wearing white is a massive no-no if you’re not the bride.

“A tasteful cleavage or even a sophisticated cut-out is perfectly acceptable, but see through frocks that you think have covered you up are not.

“No one wants to cop an eye full of your chest – well most people don’t – when they’re tucking into their prawn cocktail. It’s trashy.

“And later on when you’re cutting loose on the dancefloor under the bright disco lights, what was once sheer will now be completely see through.

“Also, the majority of sheer fabrics are made from synthetic fibres like polyester which after a couple of hours of wear can start to get a bit whiffy, no matter how much deodorant you lather yourself in.”

Diana would be furious that Harry left William to pursue her legacy alone – warring brothers WON’T recover, expert says

PRINCESS DIANA would be furious Harry has left William to pursue her legacy alone – warring brothers will never recover, expert says

Royal expert Phil Dampier claimed the warring brothers’ late mother would be “devastated” the pair were not working together on a project so close to her heart.

The expert said Princess Diana would be ‘devastated’ to see the brothers’ feud continue[/caption]

It comes as Prince William is set to appear on screen on Wednesday and Thursday this week in a documentary about homelessness.

In the new ITV documentary Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, the prince hears stories from those in need who he hopes to help with Homewards.

For the first time in several years, Wills mentioned Harry by name, telling tales of when Diana took them both as young boys to a homeless shelter in London.

It’s thought the Prince has not mentioned his brother’s name in public or in an interview since 2018, when the two, alongside the Princess of Wales and Meghan Markle, were interviewed at the Royal Foundation Forum.

Royal author and journalist Mr Dampier told The Sun: “Princess Diana took both of her sons, William and Harry, from a very early age, to see how the other half live.

“She was determined to show them that not everybody lived in palaces, and not everybody was born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

“Diana let them sleep rough overnight when they were younger, to show them what it was actually like.

“It’s been seen by some as an olive branch to Harry because he’s mentioned him for the first time in six years in this documentary.

“I don’t see it that myself. I think the rift between them is still as wide as ever, unfortunately.

“It’s just a rather sad indication of the fact that something which they could have worked together on, and something which they both experienced at a young age, they’re no longer doing.

“It’s just left William on his own, and Harry’s not joining in, so I don’t see this as an olive branch.”

On why the Prince spoke of his brother, the expert believed he “couldn’t just airbrush him out of history”,

“He couldn’t not mention Harry, because he’s in all the photographs, and he’s in all the films when they went with Diana,” he said.

The documentary is coming out on ITV this week[/caption]

“And so it’s fairly obvious that he had to.

“I don’t see it as an indication that Harry’s going to suddenly come over and take part in this charity and help out with the homelessness, cause.”

The expert believed Diana would be distraught to see how the pair are still estranged.

“I’m sure Diana would be obviously devastated to see what’s happened between the two brothers,” he said.

“She’d obviously be very upset to see that they’ve drifted apart so much and have fallen out so badly.

“I mean, obviously, if she’d still been alive, you’d like to think that that wouldn’t have happened in the first place.

“But this this is the sort of thing that highlights it a cause like this.

“They both could have done so much good for something which she was very anxious for them to to do and so I’m sure she’d be absolutely devastated.”

And, Mr Dampier believed there would be some turmoil on Harry’s end too.

“I’d like to think that Harry would have some regrets and think to himself, ‘this is a shame that I’m not involved in this’,” he continued.

“He might see this as something that William’s doing on his own to sort of show him up.

“I don’t think William’s doing it for that reason, but obviously it’s the contrast between them and the things they’re getting involved with.

“And when you see Harry come back for something like the WellChild awards that he did the other week. you know he’s still very popular with some of these charities he could have done a great deal of good.

“But you know he’s got other fish to fry, and he’s going to go his own way. Very sadly I can’t see this rift healing in the near future, if at all.

“There have been reports that William has told people told friends that he doesn’t even want Harry to be at his coronation.

“So he’s looking that far ahead and if he’s saying that clearly, he doesn’t see any chance of a reconciliation, I, personally don’t think they will ever make it up sadly.

“I think there might be some sort of rapprochement between Harry and the King.

“I don’t think that the King would like to go to his grave, you know, being estranged from his son.”

However, royal expert Hugo Vickers suggested that Prince William might have extended an “olive branch” to Prince Harry in the upcoming ITV documentary.

Hugo added that Prince William mentioning Harry’s name for the first time since 2018 could signify a “step forward” towards reconciliation between the brothers.

It comes as previews for the ITV documentary revealed one photo of Diana and William visiting a shelter on June 14, 1993.

The prince is seen playing chess with a homeless man.

In another picture, taken in December the same year, William is seen standing with his mother at the shelter, his arms holding presents to give out.

William says: “My mother took me to the Passage, she took Harry and I both there… I’d never been to anything like that before and I was a bit anxious as to what to expect.

“My mother went about her usual part of making everyone feel relaxed and having a joke with everyone… I remember having some good conversations, playing chess and chatting.

“You meet people, like I did then, who put a different perspective in your head.”

The Sussexes have been contacted for comment.

A timeline of Prince Harry and William's 'feud': Brothers 'at war'

In 2018, the Sun told how “simmering tension” began when William questioned the speed of Harry and Meghan’s engagement.

The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.

Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.

He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.

The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.

Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.

The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.

Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.

The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.

The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.

Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.

The move further increased rumours of a fallout.

Harry, 39, also hinted in his ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.

It came after Prince Philip called Meghan the “D.O.W” after the Duchess of Windsor — the American divorcee who led Edward VIII to abdicate.

And he warned the late Queen to be “cautious” of Harry’s then bride-to-be, a royal author claims.

Ingrid Seward revealed in new book My Mother And I that Prince Philip felt it was “uncanny…how much Meghan reminded him of the Duchess of Windsor“.

In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.

Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace.

But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.

In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between the brothers.

Last year Harry claimed his brother “knocked him to the floor” during an argument about Meghan.

In his book Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row.

Harry alleged William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor”.

He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.

In January this year, Harry flew in to be with Charles after the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.

Harry flew back to the US the following day – without seeing Wills.

White Maltesers: Why and when was the chocolate discontinued?

WHITE Maltesers were launched in 2003 and was enjoyed until 2014 .

The fan favourite brand was owned by Mars, but not long after it was discontinued, fans hoped the White Maltesers would make a come back.

White Maltesers were a hit with chocolate lovers but were discontinued in 2014

What were White Maltesers?

White Chocolate Maltesers were the white-chocolate version of Maltesers.

The key difference between them and the original was that, instead of being covered in milk chocolate, they were covered in a delicious white chocolate coating.

Maltesers are round balls of malted milk covered in chocolate.

They were launched in 1937 after being created by American Forrest Mars Sr.

Maltesers were first released in the UK and were originally aimed at “dieting women” as a “lighter” way to enjoy chocolate.

They have since become popular across Europe and in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Why and when were White Maltesers discontinued?

White Maltesers were discontinued in 2014.

They were pulled from shelves 11 years after they first launched in 2003.

White Maltesers were originally launched as a seasonal product but became so popular that they began being sold all year round.

It has been reported that they were discontinued due low sales but many chocolate lovers were devastated to see the end of their run.

In 2017 a petition was started to bring the sweet treat back.

The petition’s creator had hoped to garner 2,500 signatures of support but as of March 2024 only 1,637 had signed the campaign.

What is similar to White Maltesers?

While White Maltesers may no longer be available there are still plenty of Maltesers products that shoppers can get their hands on.

The original Maltesers are available in a variety of sizes, including fun-size and sharing pouches.

There are also Maltesers Truffles which feature a truffle and Maltesers filling covered in a smooth milk chocolate coating.

They come individually wrapped and are sold in gift boxes.

In 2022 Mars launched a dark chocolate version of Maltesers.

Another popular variation of the original Maltesers is the Maltesers Bunnies.

They come individually wrapped or are sold as smaller versions in the Mini Bunnies Bags.

If it’s the white chocolate part of the White Maltesers that you’re craving then there are plenty of other ways to get your fix.

In 2019 Mars announced that they were releasing a white chocolate version of the Maltesers Truffles.

They appear to still be available as of March 2024 but it looks like they are very popular as many retailers were sold out at the time of writing.

Other options that white chocolate lovers may enjoy include Milkybar goodies and white chocolate versions of popular treats like Toblerone and Kit Kat Chunky.

Poundland also sells its own knock-off version of White Maltesers called White Chocolate Malt Balls.

Watch coin expert reveal the two rarest 50ps worth up to 195 times face value – and key details to look for in change

A RARE 50p coin has sparked an online bidding war, as a coin collector reveals which two coins are worth 195 times its face value.

A coin expert has recently revealed the two rarest designs that could fetch hundreds of pounds online.

The Kew Garden 50p coin can fetch up to £150 in an online bidding war

Posting under the name @coincollectingwizard on TikTok, the video revealed that the two 50p designs worth up to 195 times its value.

Released in 2023, the King Charles III Atlantic Salmon is the rarest 50p coin in the UK, with only 200,000 coins in active circulation.

According to Coincollectingwizard, a rare Atlantic Salmon coin could sell for an average of £150 pounds.

Recently, two 50p coins recently sold for £195 on eBay, while a bag of 50p coins sold for £1,700 in a fierce bidding war.

King Charles III 50p, also known as the Atlantic Salmon, has skyrocketed to top position in the list of the UK’s rarest 50p coins still in circulation.

A Changechecker spokesperson said: “The circulation 2023 Salmon 50p has knocked the legendary Kew Gardens 50p off the top spot, meaning Britain has a new rarest 50p for the first time in 15 years.

“It was announced on October 7, 2024 that just 200,000 2023 Salmon 50ps entered circulation in November 2023.

Due to its incredibly low mintage, just one in 335 people in the UK could have the chance of finding one in their change.

When the Kew Gardens 50p was first issued in 2009, collectors didn’t initially realise just how rare it would be, and many people who found one in their change parted with it and later kicked themselves.

The spokesperson added: “Now, 15 years later, the Kew Gardens coin regularly sells for between £150 to £250 on the secondary market, so it’s no surprise that they’re already selling on the secondary market for up to £200.

“For many, snagging a Salmon coin could be a second chance at coin-collecting glory.”

Described by the Royal Mint as “the nation’s most collectable coin”, the 50p has seen over 100 different designs appear on its reverse since its introduction.

Out of the 10 rarest 50ps in circulation, six are related to the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, with Peter Rabbit and Flopsy Bunny coins from 2018 both also making the list.

Top ten rarest 50p list

The updated top ten now includes:

  1. 2023 Atlantic Salmon – 200,000 made
  2. 2009 Kew Gardens – 210,000 minted

CHECK IF YOU HAVE A RARE COIN

Rare coins and valuable notes can be worth tens of thousands of times their face value.

But sometimes it’s just tiny differences which make them so lucrative.

The most valuable coins tend to be ones with low mintage numbers or an error.

Those qualities typically make them valuable to collectors.

Your next step would be to check if your coin is still available to purchase in superior Brilliant Uncirculated quality from an official Royal Mint distributor, according to Change Checker.

Certified Brilliant Uncirculated coins have been specially struck to a superior unblemished quality which set them apart from the coins you may find in pockets.

SELLING YOUR RARE COINS

There are many different factors to consider when trying to value a coin, including its condition and mintage, so it’s important to do your homework first.

If you’ve got a coin that you would like to sell at auction, you can contact The Royal Mint’s Collectors Service.

It has a team of experts who can help you to authenticate and value your coin.

You’ll need to enquire via email, and a member of the valuation team will contact get back to you.

Take a picture of your coin and attach this to the email – you can find the details on The Royal Mint’s website.

Be aware that you will be charged for this service though – the cost will vary depending on the size of your collection.

If you are looking to buy a coin online through a marketplace such as eBay, it’s important to know exactly what you are purchasing.

This is because anyone can list a coin on eBay and charge whatever amount they wish.

You should also be wary of fakes online – and keep in mind that on eBay a buyer could pull out, which means the coin won’t have sold for the price it says it has.

Meanwhile, we have put together a guide on the rarest and most valuable coins.

We also tell you what you should do if you find a lucky penny in your pocket.

How do I safely store valuable coins?

HERE are some tricks to keep your valuable coins safe from toning:

  • Store your coins in individual containers
  • Put it in a clear, air tight holder that lets you see the coin from both sides
  • Avoid putting them in clear plastic sandwich bags because they can still rub against each other an may cause scratches or marks
  • Store your collection in a folder or album, although tarnishing may occur quicker than in an airtight container
  • Keep them out of a damp environment. You can use silica gel to help prevent damp
  • Wear clean, white gloves when handling the coins
  • Steer clear of using PVC materials as it traps moisture and releases acidic gases which can damage the collection.
