Fuming Strictly fans SLAM BBC as they spot HUGE problem after Amy Dowden’s hospital dash

STRICTLY fans were left absolutely fuming as they slammed the BBC over a huge problem on the results show.

Amy Dowden, 34, missed the second recording after she was previously rushed to hospital after collapsing backstage.

Strictly viewers were left confused by the decision made by BBC bosses[/caption]

She was taken away in an ambulance after Paramedics attended to her at Elstree Studios.

However, the BBC still went ahead with filming as they revealed the results of Halloween week.

Usually, all the couples stand in pairs as they wait to hear their fate in the competition.

The duos stand side by side as Tess Daly reveals if they have made it through to the next week or if they will have to dance for survival.

However, JLS star JB Gill was made to stand in position alone without any partner by his side after Amy received medical attention.

Strictly Come Dancing fans were both confused and angered by this decision, as they wondered what he would do if he landed in the dance off.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan asked: “Did anyone else feel sorry for JB standing all on his own when they were announcing who was safe? They could’ve at least got Karen to step in for are Amy at least.”

A second said: “JB standing on the stairs on his own is so sad, hopefully lovely Amy is okay.”

“I wish JB didn’t have to stand by himself when the results were called out. Standing there is daunting in itself but standing there ALONE! What if he was in the Danceoff? Would Lauren or Karen have to step in last minute?,” stated a third fan.

While someone else wondered: “Genuine question. If JB & Amy were in the face off, what would have happened?

“As you can’t expect a pro to learn the dance so quickly or would it have been fair on JB to dance with a new pro, especially for a dance off, with a moments notice!”

Meanwhile, a fifth commented: “If JB had been in the dance-off, who would he have been dancing with since Amy was unavailable? Thank God she’s OK and that he’s through to next week’s shows.”

As a sixth enquired: “What would have happened if JB and Amy were in the dance off again? Does he do it alone?”

Another fan echoed: “I know, right? It’s a bit rough seeing JB standing alone for the results show!”

And an eighth user added: “GUYS could we not have put JB with someone at least for the results show. Bless him stood on his own.”

Strictly Amy's cancer 'nightmare'

The Sun's Jamie Downham takes a look at the beloved Strictly star's ups and downs...

AS Strictly Come Dancing viewers know, you’ll struggle to catch Amy Dowden without a huge smile on her face.

But recently the Welsh star – one the best-rated Ballroom and Latin American professional dancers the UK has ever produced – has suffered a string of “nightmare” blows to her health.

She was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May last year and underwent a full mastectomy, before having chemotherapy towards the end of 2023.

However, she later reported docs had found a clot on her lung, telling fans sadly: “Unfortunately I’ve had another nightmare this week.”

Nonetheless, brave Amy, seen here dancing with James Bye, made an epic return to Strictly the following month with an appearance that left many viewers in floods tears.

As 2024 dawned, she admitted: “I feel I was robbed of the year I had planned and reflecting for me makes me upset and angry.”

However, she was soon smiling again. Amy, her hair starting to grow back after her cancer treatment, was seen messing around with her co-stars Dianne Buswell and Vito Coppola on the Strictly tour earlier this month.

And despite another spell in hospital in February, she still mustered a cheeriness many would struggle for, telling fans: “The sun is shining – and I certainly can’t wait for Spring.”

And we certainly can’t wait to see you dancing again, Amy…

Towie’s Ella Rae Wise & Dan Edgar SPLIT in secret despite ‘fake dating’ on show – & she’s now dating millionaire’s son

TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise has already moved on with a millionaire’s son after her shock split from Dan Edgar.

The reality star, 24, has been enjoying a string of dates with Dan, 34, on the current series, but it has now been revealed that the pair had secretly split off-screen, despite continuing to “date” on the show.

During that time, Ella is said to have grown close to another Essex lad – wealthy 21-year-old Teddy Brent.

A source told The Sun: “She might be dating Dan on-screen but off-screen Ella has moved and she’s secretly dating a very rich 21-year-old called Teddy Brunt.

“She has been in Dubai with him – she’s staying in his apartment out there.

“He is only 21 but runs his own business and is well known in the Essex circles – and his dad’s a millionaire.”

Ella has been keeping tight-lipped on her new romance, but she has been dropping hints about a new fella in her life.

Earlier today, the smitten star received 1500 roses in the shape of a teddy bear.

She then posted a photo of her boarding a yacht with a private hot tub.

Ella’s rep and Towie have been approached for comment.

This won’t come as a surprise to many Towie fans after Dan revealed his inability to commit to Ella on the latest episode.

During a chat with James “Diags” Bennewith, Dan said: “It’s not that I don’t feel like I could ever get to that place, I don’t know if I could or couldn’t.

“I just know right now at this moment, I’m not at a place where I’m thinking of this as long term thing and when I do think of it as a long term thing, I start to then close off and go back because of other previous situations.

“That’s messed me up as well with it.”

Diags replied: “Then you’ve gotta tell her that.

“Say ‘listen, I can’t give you any more assurances in the fact that I don’t know where this is going’.”

Dan said: “Do you know what’s mad about it?

“She’s someone who I, well you know full well, wouldn’t even have thought I’d never talk to again in my life to someone who I hold highly in my head.

“Do you know what I mean, as a person, I like her a lot but there is other stuff that needs to be spoke about, and I feel like before everyone gets carried away with it and before either of us get carried away, we need to have an honest chat about how we both feel.”

In that same episode, all the signs of their split became evident as Dan refused to recognise Ella as his girlfriend.

Diags, who is in a relationship with Jodie Wells, raised a toast to their ‘girlfriends’ to which Dan noticeably hesitated and said, “To our what?”

A source has confirmed to Closer that Dan has indeed got cold feet and their romance is off. “After a steamy romance which started in Bali earlier this year, the pair have decided to call time on the love affair.”

It was recently confirmed Dan will take part in the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice and the insider added Ella has gone in a very different direction.

They said: “Dan is set to focus on Dancing On Ice, whilst Ella has jetted off to Dubai for a month before filming starts for the Towie Christmas special.

“There isn’t any bad blood between the pair and it was fun while it lasted, but a long term relationship was sadly not on the cards.”

Israel rounds up 100 Hamas terrorists in SINGLE hospital raid – as terrified Hezbollah fighters ‘desert in their droves’

ISRAEL has rounded up 100 Hamas fighters in a single hospital raid in another major blow to the terror group.

Dramatic footage shared by the IDF shows troops storming the Kamal Adwan hospital in Jabaliya, northern Gaza, in search of Hamas members.

Troops then stormed the Kamal Adwan hospital in search for terrorists[/caption]

The Israeli Defense Forces said on Monday the hospital served as a “terror command centre”.

Weapons, terror funds and Hamas documents were reportedly found at the site, according to YNet News.

The Israeli outlet added that 60 terrorists of the 100 were reportedly apprehended within the hospital itself, including some linked to the October 7 attacks.

Soldiers from the elite Israeli reconnaissance unit Shayetet 13 were seen approaching the building with tanks and armoured vehicles before sneaking into the hospital hallways.

The video ended with the squad examining what appeared to be a weapons cache discovered in a hospital room, although it did not show the soldiers apprehending terrorists or medical personnel.

Hamas and Gaza health officials disputed that there were militants at the hospital, claiming that Israeli troops had arrested scores of essential male medical staff members while the institution was already having trouble running.

But the IDF claimed that this was essential because Hamas had disguised several identifiable fighters as medical staff.

An official said: “The soldiers apprehended approximately 100 terrorists from the compound, including terrorists who attempted to escape during the evacuation of civilians.

“Inside the hospital, they found weapons, terror funds, and intelligence documents.

“A few of the fully identified terrorists disguised themselves as medical staff so we didn’t have any alternative but to check the medical staff as well.”

The military stated that the operation in Jabaliya would continue with two brigades remaining and a third unit being moved out.

Approximately 600 terrorists surrendered during the broader campaign, including several who went through new checkpoints near Jabaliya’s refugee camp, YNet reports.

But the IDF thinks that a few hundred Hamas fighters remain in the city.

In the last month, the IDF has resumed its offensive in northern Gaza, causing extensive damage with its bombings.

After more than a year of war, Israel‘s military claims it is attempting to stop Hamas fighters from regrouping.

Fellow terrorists Hezbollah, meanwhile, have been experiencing a wave of desertions as the group’s leadership has been wiped out in Israeli airstrikes.

The Iran-backed group has been rocked by pager blasts that injured thousands of its members, Israeli bombings that killed Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and now an Israeli ground invasion into southern Lebanon.

In a report published Sunday, sources told the Arabic independent online newspaper Elaph that Hezbollah is having trouble communicating with its fighters on the ground as a result of combatants leaving their stations.

When senior terrorists call, insiders claimed, those believed to be defecting do not report and do not wait at their designated locations.

According to reports, some terrorists have also escaped to Syrian territory with their families in an effort to avoid a close-quarters conflict with Israel.

The terror group has now reportedly started sending reinforcements to southern Lebanon to fight Israeli forces in an effort to survive the desertion of its members, the insiders claimed.

According to the sources, there are also concerns that the defections, which are currently mostly found in southern Lebanon, will spread to terrorists across the country.

Hezbollah fighters have apparently found it difficult to find fresh terrorists to support their campaign against Israel as a result of the clashes on the southern border.

It comes as Israel launched fresh fire jet attacks in the area of Tzur in southern Lebanon.

Footage and information released by Israel’s Air Force revealed the strikes targeted Hezbollah weapon and anti-tank missile warehouses, military buildings and observation posts.

The military wrote on X: “The area of the city of Tzur is a significant terrorist area of the terrorist organisation Hezbollah and the ‘Aziz’ unit from which they promote terrorist activities against the State of Israel and the IDF forces.”

Huge change this weekend putting EVERYONE’S homes at risk of burglaries – 10 free ways to protect yourself

A SECURITY expert has revealed how to protect your home from the risk of burglary.

Locksmith Elizabeth Jones said that the shorter days will see a rise in burglaries and attempted burglaries.

‘Lock snapping’ is one of the main techniques used by burglars to gain access to homes[/caption]

If you plan on going out one evening, she recommends keeping a light on or keeping curtains closed[/caption]

The darker nights mean intruders have a longer window of opportunity so “additional precautions” should be taken to secure your home, said Elizabeth.

The security expert urged Brits to have the “best level of security” on their windows and doors.

Elizabeth, company director at locksmith L&E Ltd, told the Sun: “The main thing we advise is that all UPVC and composite doors have snap -resistant locks installed.”

According to the expert ‘Lock snapping’ is one of the main techniques used by burglars to gain access to homes.

This is because it’s a quick way of gaining access to a property without creating too much noise.

Robbers can use this method to enter and leave efficiently and quietly – often, without you finding out until the morning.

“Installing snap resistant locks in all your doors means that they can still snap the lock – but this will not open the door, keeping your home secure,” she said.

“The markings on these locks will also generally deter them from even trying. This is a basic level of door security we advise everyone to have,” she added.

For anyone looking for extra security Elizabeth advised seeking professional recommendations from a locksmith, like hers.

She said: “As a business we have found through our years of experience and attending properties after burglaries that there are other small things that you can make sure you do, to help prevent them”.

This includes checking all your doors and windows are locked before going to sleep at night.

Another simple way to keep your home secure is ensuring there are no valuables on display.

Importantly, making sure car keys are hidden away is fundamental as these are a “high target” for thieves, she added.

She warned: “Do not leave car keys near a letter box – we have known people to leave keys on a table near the front door. Keep them hidden!”

If you plan on going out one evening, she recommends keeping a light on or keeping curtains closed.

The expert also recommended coming together as a community to ward off any potential crime.

“We often have found that they target a number of properties in the same areas at one time,” she said.

She added: “It is always useful to set up neighbourhood watch groups.

“Maybe a closed Facebook or Whatsapp group just for the residents on your street, estate, or surrounding area.

“People can then report if their is any suspicious activity, post suggestions on security, and watch out for each other.”

Elizabeth previously shared simple tips to avoid being burgled in the colder months.

This included ensuring you bin anything that has branding for high-cost items, such as TVs or games consoles – as opposed to leaving them loose outside.

Many rushed to social media to complain that former X Factor winner Shayne was “cocky” and “overconfident”.

Now Shayne has had his say on the comments during a new interview with Nancy, 33.

He said: “I think when it comes to social media and negative comments, I’m only human, and it can get to me. It can also upset my mum and Sophie when it’s a personal attack.

“But then I look at how many beautiful comments I get, and they far outweigh the negative ones.

“I do think social media needs to be monitored a little bit more to protect people. People just need to be kinder.”

And, speaking to OK! Magazine, Nancy jumped to Shayne’s defence, adding: “We’re always nervous, trust me.

“The only moment you don’t feel nervous is in the rehearsal room and that’s because it’s the only place you can make a mistake.”

Shayne shares two children with his former Hollyoaks star fiancee Sophie Austin.

And the ex-Coronation Street star revealed the real reason he and Sophie still haven’t tied the knot – despite getting engaged in 2017.

He said: “As time has gone on, we’ve realised just how much more special it’s going to be to have our children at our wedding.

“We’re excited to see Willow-May and Reign play a huge part in it. Willow-May gets so excited about it and tells us, ‘OK, Mummy and Daddy, next year is your wedding’.”

But is the fashion retailer website legitimate, and is the app safe?

What is StockX?

StockX is a technology leader focused on the large and growing online market for trainers, apparel and accessories, electronics, collectibles and trading cards.

The company is based in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

Using dynamic pricing mechanics, StockX’s platform connects buyers and sellers of high-demand consumer goods from around the world.

This approach, affording both access and market visibility, is powered by real-time data — empowering buyers and sellers to carry out their transactions based on up-to-the-minute market values.

StockX features hundreds of brands, including Jordan Brand, Adidas, Nike, Supreme, BAPE, Off-White, Louis Vuitton and Gucci.

The platform offers collectibles from artists including KAWS and Takashi Murakami.

It also showcases electronics from industry-leading manufacturers Sony, Microsoft, Nvidia and Apple.

When was StockX created?

StockX was founded by Dan Gilbert, Josh Luber and Greg Schwartz in 2015.

As of September 2024, StockX has roughly 1,400 employees across six continents – — facilitating sales in 197 countries.

According to LeadiQ, the company downsized in recent years, including notable layoffs in April 2020, June 2022, and November 2022.

In 2022 the company surpassed 1.5 million lifetime sellers, 12 million lifetime buyers and 40 million lifetime trades.

In 2022 StockX also turned away nearly $100 million USD [£78.6million] worth of products that didn’t meet the marketplace’s stringent verification standards.

The same year international sellers [outside the US], accounted for almost 50% of all StockX trades, which was up around 25% since 2021.

Speaking about the company’s growth in January 2023, StockX CEO Scott Cutler said: “Our seller community thrived this year, and even with a tough economic backdrop, demand for current culture products didn’t waver.

StockX sell well sought after designer brands such as Nike Jordan – with the Jordan 4 trainers being a popular buy
StockX

“2022 brought new wins for our business as we posted record revenue and trades and served our community of buyers and sellers around the globe.

“Even as the world faces an uncertain climate in 2023, we’re committed to putting in the work and making the necessary investments to continue delivering a best-in-class experience to our global customer base.”

And in November 2023 Cutler explained: “Consumers are eager to diversify their closets and discover new brands — throughout 2023 we’ve seen more and more new entrants compete for share of wallet.

“The growing desire among young consumers to be early adopters has fuelled interest in emerging labels and helped bolster demand for new sneaker silhouettes.

“While we’ve seen price premiums soften on releases from some of the top brands, players like New Balance and Adidas are successfully tapping into consumers’ hunger for something different by launching new silhouettes or putting a fresh spin on retired classics.”

Is StockX a legitimate website?

Yes, StockX is a legitimate website.

With authentication centres around the world, all of the products on the platform go through a rigorous, multi-step verification process — ensuring the products their customers buy and sell are 100% legitimate.

StockX is also committed to social justice.

How to spot a dodgy app

Detecting a malicious app before you hit the 'Download' button is easy when you know the signs.

Follow this eight-point checklist when you’re downloading an app you’re unsure about:

  1. Check the reviews – be wary of both complaints and uniformly positive reviews by fake accounts.
  2. Look out for grammar mistakes – legitimate app developers won’t have typos or errors in their app descriptions.
  3. Check the number of downloads – avoid apps with only several thousand downloads, as it could be fake.
  4. Research the developer – do they have a good reputation? Or, are totally fake?
  5. Check the release date – a recent release date paired with a high number of downloads is usually bad news.
  6. Review the permission agreement – this agreement gives permission for the app to take bits of your data, and fake apps often ask for additional data that is not necessary.
  7. Check the update frequency – an app that is updated too frequently is usually indicative of security vulnerabilities.
  8. Check the icon – look closely, and don’t be deceived by distorted, lower-quality versions the icons from legitimate apps.

All of this information will available in both Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store.

As the website explains: “StockX fosters a diverse and inclusive community, not only for its team members, but for the millions of buyers, sellers, makers, and creators it serves.

“While much of this work is internal and anchored by a six-point D&I plan, the company understands that it is wrong that underrepresented communities must play by different rules.

“As such, we are committed to advancing the work of organizations fighting for equity and social justice.

“In 2020, StockX matched team member donations to organisations including the George Floyd Memorial Fund, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and Know Your Rights Camp totalling more than £75K in support of their work.”

Is the StockX app safe?

Yes, the StockX app is safe.

The app has the same checks and guarantees as the website.

On the Apple Store it has a score of 4.7/5 stars, and on Google Play a rating of 4.3/5.

Overwhelmed Strictly star Chris McCausland admits training ‘nearly killed me’ – as he hits back over ‘sympathy vote’

OVERWHELMED Strictly star Chris McCausland has admitted training ‘nearly killed me’ while hitting back at trolls for labelling him the ‘sympathy vote.

Chris, 47, who is blind due to retinitis pigmentosa, candidly revealed the gruelling nature of rehearsals for the BBC show, admitting that it pushed him to his limits.

Strictly star Chris McCausland admitted training ‘nearly killed me’[/caption]

The comedian detailed the challenges of mastering complex dance routines, particularly the demanding cha-cha-cha, which he described as nearly “killing” him.

Despite the physical and mental strain, he remains determined to defy expectations and prove that disability is no barrier.

He told The Times: “Going straight into the cha-cha-cha on week one nearly killed me. A lot of the rehearsal time is me lying on the floor trying to plaster a smile on my face and saying, ‘Just give me five minutes.’

“I’m all for a challenge, I’m all for doing something out of my comfort zone, but I don’t want to be the ‘fun guy’.

“Because if I come on the air and because of my blindness I fail, that’s no good for anyone. The whole point of being here is to surprise people, to represent people and maybe expose people to somebody they might think would be incapable of doing these things.”

Chris openly expressed his frustration with the “sympathy vote” label, emphasizing his desire to be judged on his own merits as a dancer.

He explained: “If you’ve got a disability you have to show so much perseverance and creativity and problem-solving just day to day. There are so many people out there capable of way more than the opportunities they are given. For me it’s about representing that community.

“I hugely put myself out of my comfort zone to do something that I didn’t know I’d be able to do. And so if that inspires people to have a go at something then I’m good with that.”

Last week, Chris admitted that he ‘walked out’ on his dance partner Dianne Buswell during training.

They took to Instagram to share their latest episode of CHRIS DIAnneRIES – where they upload of video of themselves talking about how training has gone with fans.

Dianne revealed that at one point this week they went through their dance 22 times to make sure that they got it right.

But it appears that got too much for Chris – and at one point he had to walk away to get some “space”.

Chris said in the video: “So this is what happens…

“The Samba is very energetic and I have to have a little lie down just to catch my breathe back, just to recover, and she just talks at me constantly while I’m trying to take my brain off the dancing for a minute, have a little bit of me time.

“At one point, I had to walk away from you and you said: ‘Chris, you’re going the wrong direction’.

“I said: ‘No, I need some space. I just need some distance between my face and your voice’.”

Fans found what he said absolutely hilarious.

One wrote in the comments section: “‘I need some space between my face and your voice’,” with a laughing emoji.

A second said: “Love Chris’ honesty in these videos he does with Dianne. Heartwarming and so funny.”

Another added: “A great indicator that 2 people have hit it off is when they can laugh together about the times they irritate each other.”

“Love you guys, my favourites to win, always look forward to watching you both on a Saturday x,” a fourth chimed in.

And, the week before, Chris and Dianne danced the Waltz to Liverpool’s anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone.

They were awarded 35 points out of 40 by judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.

After the dance, Chris asked Dianne if he did ok – to which she replied: “I’m so proud of you!”

The following day their close bond was revealed as they share sweet moment in some exclusive pictures.

Snapped in a corner of the Strictly studios in Elstree, Chris can be seen kissing Dianne’s hand, as they moved through some of the motions of their dance.

In another image Dianne is seen helping Chris tie the laces of his shoes, clearly capturing their true and genuine friendship.

What is Retinitis Pigmentosa?

RETINITIS pigmentosa (RP) is a rare genetic disorder that causes progressive degeneration of the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye.

This condition primarily affects the photoreceptor cells, which are essential for vision.

Common symptoms of RP include night blindness, tunnel vision, and eventual loss of peripheral vision, with some cases also affecting central vision.

RP is usually inherited, passed down through families, and is caused by mutations in various genes.

Diagnosis typically involves eye examinations, genetic testing, and visual field tests.

While there is currently no cure for RP, some treatments may help manage symptoms, such as vitamin A supplementation and low-vision aids.

Ongoing research into gene therapy and retinal implants offers hope for future advancements.

Living with RP presents challenges, but many people adapt by using assistive devices and developing coping strategies.

Support from organisations and communities plays a vital role in enhancing quality of life for those affected.

Face of ‘Zosia the VAMPIRE’ revealed after her 350-year-old skeleton is unearthed with a sickle around neck

EXPERTS have revealed the face of a 350-year-old ‘vampire’ after her skeleton was unearthed with a sickle around her neck and a padlock on her foot.

The skeleton of an 18-year-old woman who has been called Zosia was unearthed in 2022 in a field outside of the village of Pien in Poland.

Archaeologists who made the grim discovery revealed that the sickle was placed over her neck and the padlock on her toe because, at the time of her death, some 350 years ago, locals feared that the teenager was a vampire.

It was believed that the sickle, a curved blade used for farming, and the padlock would prevent Zosia from coming back from the dead.

Zosia’s skeleton was discovered by archaeologist Professor Dariusz Polinski and his partner Magda Zagrodzka when Polinski’s trowel hit metal.

Her remains were fully discovered after the archaeologist carefully brushed away the surrounding soil.

“It can be assumed that for some reason those burying the woman were afraid that she would rise from the grave,” Professor Polinski told the Daily Mail at the time of his discovery.

“Perhaps they feared she was a vampire.

“The sickle was not laid flat but placed on the neck in such a way that if the deceased had tried to get up most likely the head would have been cut off or injured.”

Meanwhile, the padlocked big toe on the left foot further convinced experts that her killers believed her to be a vampire as it likely symbolised “the impossibility of returning”.

Now, the so-called vampire has been given a face by experts who have revealed new information about the teenager including an artist’s impression of what she may have looked like.

Scans of the skeleton have concluded that there is an abnormality of the breast bone meaning Zosia likely had a painful and physical deformity.

Dr Heather Edgar, the medical investigator at the University of New Mexico who discovered the abnormality told The Times how the deformity could have “marked this person [to others] in a negative way.”

Her skull has also revealed that she had a protruding tooth which may have contributed to fears of her being a blood-sucker.

This along with her deformity may have largely contributed to the belief that she was supernatural leading to her death and unusual burial.

Meanwhile, facial reconstruction expert Oscar Nilsson created an impression of the teenager which depicts a fair-looking woman with blue eyes and mousey-brown, cropped hair.

The illustration was created using digital scans of her skull along with a 3D printer and clay to mould the muscles of her face.

She also appears in rather fine clothes as a silk cap was found with her remains, highlighting that she likely had high social status.

Experts also believe that she may have come from Scandinavia and could have been seen as an “unwanted outsider” as her death occurred during a period of conflict between Poland and Sweden.

Zosia was just one of around 100 skeletons located in the field outside of Pien.

Such discoveries led to the area being called the “Field of Vampires.”

However, she was the only one at the burial site with a sickle around her neck, though 30 others appeared to have been restrained in some way.

Among the other remains found at the burial site were a pregnant woman, a woman who had long suffered from syphilis, and a man with a child buried at his feet.

Some were placed face-down in their graves and weighed down with stones while others had coins placed in their mouths.

All of these people were “excluded from the community,” Professor Polinski said with all of the graves being unmarked and the deaths unrecorded.

However, with Zosia being buried with a sickle around her neck, Polinski believes that she was the most feared by locals.

The recent findings about Zosia are set to feature in a new two-part documentary on Sky History called Field of Vampires.

The first part with air at 9 pm on October 29.

Earlier this year, a similar set of remains was uncovered beneath a church in northern Poland.

The remains of a 50-year-old male were found under the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Pączewo and he too had a sickle placed around his neck after death.

Archaeologists at the site say it is the first vampire tomb of its kind to have been found inside a church.

The remains of two “vampire children” were also uncovered in Poland this year with similar protections to prevent them from rising from the dead.

They were found in a medieval graveyard in Koszalin, with one having been decapitated and the other laid faced-down with stones on its back.

Such superstitions date back to as early as the 11th century in Eastern Europe.
